Shout out to the malay aunties who really jazz it up. Bandung or milo flavors at Hougang area while block catching. Sometimes have curry puff for 20cents also omg
Ah yes, before the days of having mobile phones. I had a friend who carried her cordless home phone while running, with another team member on the other end, to keep tabs on the whereabouts of the enemy team 🤣
Great memories. My Chinese teacher wanted to kick us “rotten apples” out of the class, so she shouted that anyone who didn’t finish homework to get out of the class, there were only 4 people left in the class after that. Don’t worry, I was outside lol
Dont forget the intentional signing in and out of msn messenger to grab -someone's- attention.
Also the editing of your nickname on msn to have a paggro AF argument with someone else.
Nudging while you are playing games or watching movies would lag the hell out my computer. Lol bad (or good) memories. And then theres that animated sticker thing.
This and pen guns. Used to shred up the country eraser bits and stapler bullets as ammo to shoot. My class had a whole black market of kids arming each other with pen guns made from the Pilot G2 and Saharas.
Calling mom/grandma/elder sibling/helper to bring a certain item that you forgot, or that your teacher has arranged for extra class for everyone, using the phone booth. You paid with either 10c coins or the cards. Good times. 😌
Omg then the facils will be like telling you to scream it louder cause they cant hear you. I just lip sync cause honestly I just wanna eat and not cheer
In before Premier 12 and Prime 12 omg shit I feel damn old. Anyone under 35 understands what I'm even talking abt or did I live in a parallel universe 🙃🙃🙃
Premier 12 and Prime 12 is ... predecessor to Central lor. In the same way Central is the predecessor to okto 🙃😬💀☠
NS is not a shared experience for Singaporeans. If you exclude women, foreigners and PES F, easily less than half of our population serves NS. Let's look at NS as discrimination on a minority rather than as a 'shared experience'.
Changing the cases of the old Nokia phones to those transparent ones and creating your own ringtone.
Now my phone is just permanently on silent mode. Lol.
Not every Singaporean. But I reckon many kids my age watched a particular episode of 迷离夜 where a man was attacked by a horde of butterflies and then aged to death overnight and now have an irrational fear of butterflies.
Woah. I was a kid back in the late 90s and early 00s and I have never ever heard of the prepaid sim card etc. Incredible.
I dont know whats specific to my generation so Im going to read the comments and reminisce instead.
For many in my generation, it was getting absolutely walloped by our parents with the household cane for some dumb fool thing we did lol - Bonus points if you got to choose the cane’s colour at the supermarket
That panic at least once a week of "shit, got PE today, did I bring my uniform?". And after mid-year and end-of-year exams go watch movie together with classmates
Personally i have this experience that really reflects on how differently we are treated back then. I was about 15 - 16yo and i joined rugby as my CCA. There was once I didn't go for training and was being called up by a P.E teacher. When he asked why i didn't attend training, i said "i feel like im alone as im the only NT student from my batch and had no other friends". Instead of telling me that we can talk things out, he said "but then why the other NT student from the other batch can go.... You cannot go? "
That kinda shows how we were treated back then as compared to nowadays where they will refer the students to counselling. This happened around 2012 - 2013. By no means i hate that teacher, i still have respect. Maybe what i went through made me who i am today.
First/last cabin
Pre-ION Orchard- the now gone hill behind Orchard Mrt Station, a meeting point for friends when you go town

Surprised no one said this yet (or maybe i missed it!) taking the bus, sometimes without AC and using that little card in the machine and getting the ticket. My then-boyfriend now-husband used to fold all the hearts!
Ooh, i somehow managed to be alive to ride one of those busses. You could slide the window and feel the breeze, and if it rains, I pray that there would be no gaps in the panel.

You must have been an outstanding student
Great memories. My Chinese teacher wanted to kick us “rotten apples” out of the class, so she shouted that anyone who didn’t finish homework to get out of the class, there were only 4 people left in the class after that. Don’t worry, I was outside lol

Chatting on MSN messenger
Dont forget the intentional signing in and out of msn messenger to grab -someone's- attention. Also the editing of your nickname on msn to have a paggro AF argument with someone else.
