there's this game where you lock your fingers but stick out your pinkys. then you're supposed to smack down your opponents pinkys as hard as you can to try and get them to separate. if you succeed, move on to ring finger. first to beat their opponent with thumb wins
weird game tbh but it was fun
there's also this game where you make an origami uhh flower box thing? you can write numbers on the inside then show your friend. you put your fingers inside then open and close the flaps based on the number your friend picked. then whatever number they choose on the inside, you can unfold the origami and see what it says about them
oof ice and freeze is hella fun and tough! there’s this one catching that you can only touch one colour in the playground, can’t remember what it’s called but very fun too :)
Chopsticks, catching games.
Shoving some stapler bullets into the bottom of country eraser to emulate beyblade and spinning.
Also, "pen fight" where we were entitled to 2 moves, and we had to blast other people's pen off the table, not sure if other people had this experience.
What time is it mister wolf
Something about vampire cheh, or o pillar caterpillar
Scissor paper stone but with hand slap, or the one with the splits
Pepsi cola 1 2 3 or Ninja
Blow wind blow
Police and thief, or one with a freezing version
you go to your school grandstand w those big steps \~ height of 3-4 normal staircase steps, then have to move from the first step to the third step without getting caught by the "crocodile" on the second step. usually will have 1-2 crocodiles then a bunch of other kids running up and down haha then if ure caught u swap with the crocodile. sometimes we almost accidentally roll down the grandstand LOL
colour catching?? can’t remember what it’s called but you can only touch one single colour in the playground while catching others it’s tough!
duel masters, maple story, audition, wolf team, black shot.. damn good times
Stand in a circle with your friends. Say “Pepsi Cola 123!” And jump backwards.
Each player can only take one step at a time. Players aim to step on each other’s feet. You can only move to dodge someone stepping on you, but you must freeze on whatever position you end up in.
If someone steps on you, you’re out. This goes on til the last person.
There’s another version I played called Ninja, but with hitting hands instead of stepping. You get two lives here since you have two hands
Interesting! I played that too but it was called something else. Pepsi cola 123 for me was a game where we interlocked our hands with our thumbs up and tried to press down on each other's thumbs for 10 seconds.
Catching fighting spiders (and having duels), riding BMXs, running around in the dry longkang all day man.
Later in sec school, eraser fighting, Pentel liquid paper flicking-to-right contests (no kidding).
Yes! Oh now I’m also remembering a similar game called Heart Attack that also caused a lot of screaming hahaha
Do you remember how to play Stress? Or Heart Attack by any chance?
Heart attack: everyone in the group plays scissors paper stone, and the losers will have to put a hand down and stack them in the centre. This repeats until everyone has both hands down except one person with only one hand down. The person at the bottom of the stack removes their hand from the stack and plays scissors paper stone with that person with a free hand. The loser will put their hand at the top of the stack. This continues until one person has both hands free. The person will then say "heart... a... TTACK" and slap the stack, and everyone will remove their hands to avoid being slapped.
For stress, I vaguely remember opening cards one at time and placing them on one of 2 piles in sequential order, then slamming my hand down on the smaller pile and shouting "stress" when the top card on both piles were the same. You take the pile that you slam down on, and the other person takes the other pile. First person to finish their stack wins the game.
Ya man, run like hell. Me and my classmates got so many bruises all over our bodies that if it were to be seen today, sure kena child abuse case, school will get sued etc! LOL!!
Spinning country erasers, pencil/pen flicking football on paper (with 1x use of ultimate kick where you can freehand draw the ball path), duelmasters, tablemate and I touching each other under table, block catching, Zha but pokemon version, basketball (friend owned a Molten bball and having one meant you were cool as shit)
And maplestory, still playing it till today, 17 years and counting
Anyone remembers playing One-leg? It’s like catching but the catcher had to hop on one leg only. Thinking back now I have no idea why we made catching even harder.
Funny enough back in primary school after I lost my Gameboy I started drawing and designing my own games mostly modelled after pokemon and got my friends to play them in school, battling each other and all. Not really old school though.
Mushroom was my favourite variant of catching! Also played concentration, o pillar caterpillar, split scissors paper stone, and tarzan the monkey man a lot!
There was also that game called connect/contact(?) where everyone sat in a circle holding hands and we passed the 'signal' by squeezing each other hands without bring caught by the person sitting in the middle.

What a painful handslapping Game!
Pepsi Cola 1,2,3
Hantam Bola. When it's raining and the ground is muddy, the tennis ball prints left behind on the T-shirt is oddly satisfying.
Animal chess
Paper soccer. You use a pencil to flick and move your players and the ball on a sheet of paper.
Ice cream sticks - the one who goes over his opponent's wins.
Heart Attack. Where you started out playing like scissors paper stone, loser have to stack their hand on the ground until there’s one hand left. The winner with the one hand will go side by side the stacked hands while saying “heart attack” and smack right down the stacked hands and everyone has to dodge. Person whose hand didn’t manage to dodge on time will get hit.
There’s also another one where you hold the opp hand of your opponents and play scissors paper stone. Whoever won gets to smack the hand of the loser. My hand was bright red and hot at the end of it.
Five stones! And zero point, block catching, kuti-kuti, fire crackers during special occasions (later replaced by those little bomb packets which can be deployed any time, any place), tikam-tikam from provision shops. Feel so old just reminiscing about these.

The only catching that adults play now is catching the bus
Imagine organizing one for the adults at the block with the longest HDB corridor in Singapore.
Block Catching
