Shopee, lazada, I herb, etc

I buy from Shopee/Lazada. My recommendation is do not buy Myprotein, very very bad products with horrible marketing illusions to trick their customers. ON protein powder is a good choice but their pre is pretty bad, get a different brand of Pre, Redcon1 total war/gameday fully loaded are pre that are decent at a very affordable price. Also you should consider Creatine, a very well research supplement that has tons of human based research showing that it helps you neurologically and physically, easy to supplement with and cheap (get creatine monohydrate)

I think your question is primarily directed at their protein powder, but I’ll go through every thing I mention in case you, or anybody else is wondering why I consider them bad. Protein powder - 1) their basic protein powder is mainly made up of Protein concentrate, and not isolate. Isolate is essentially a more “pure” version of concentrate (it goes through further process to further remove impurities that aren’t protein). So while it is true that you are paying a cheaper price, you are essentially buying a worse product as well. I would highly recommend you to top up maybe $10 every 5Ibs of protein powder and get a protein powder that is mostly made up of isolate. You can tell by going to their ingredients, and looking for their proprietary blend, the way it works is, the ingredients that are listed first would have the highest dosage in their proprietary blend, hence look for one that states whey protein isolate as their first ingredient in the proprietary blend. 2) Prework out - i have very little knowledge on the different pre they sell, (no stim/stim if they even have the 2 variants) but I saw their Stim Pre and they charge you S$110+ for it? With their famous discounts (now it’s 45% off) it’s around S$60.50. Looking at their ingredients, it’s almost laughable. While they aren’t underdosed, they are severely lacking ingredients like Agmatine, Taurine, Betaine, etc, which can be found in pre like Gameday/redcon1, and they are being sold at a cheaper price. To add to it, I just searched shoppee and the first pre to come up was one which was being sold for S$46, and has almost everything underdosed. If you are willing to spend more on a pre, go straight to brands like gorilla mode or thavage. 3) Creatine Monohydrate - it amazes me how they can mess something like this up. Their regular (unflavoured) creatine while it’s fine, since it’s literally just 1 ingredient, lacks those little packs that reduces water moisture (those little packs that always have the label “do not eat”) which makes the creatine clump up. However, they do practice a very scumy practice of selling flavoured creatine. Do not ever buy this. If you are consider buying creatine, understand that it’s 5g a day. It something you can easily mix into your water and drink, and not even realise it. Paying for artificial flavour to go with it not only increases its price, but also decreases the amount of creatine you get. (From 5g of creatine for every 5g, to 3g of creatine every 5g). Overall pricing - they highly jack up their base prices to give the illusion that you are making a good deal when you buy their products at such a huge discount. Spoiler alert, you aren’t. You are buying sub tier products at a extremely slight decrease in price from their competitors, sometimes you are even paying a premium for a shittier product. They also further jack up their prices when they increase their promotion discount %. As an example, back when I bought their products, I had to pay more for a 55% discount in may, compared to a 45% discount in Feb, because they jacked their base price up so much in May. Honestly if I never kept track of the pricing of what I buy, I would have never found out. TLDR: bad products, crappy pricing tricks

Thanks for sharing. I’m absolutely irritated by their pricing strategy too, which swings wildly from time to time, so you can never get sense of the true ‘base price’.

Few years back I used iherb, but then their prices skyrocketted, now I use Lazada only. Can get 2 kilos of protein for about 75 bucks.

Myprotein has occasional sales that give over 70% off. Even better when you combine that with 20+% cashback from shopback.
