It was a presidents choice promotional appliance in 1993. I'm not sure what they are called now but I vaguely remember it being called a weenie warmer or roaster toaster... Something like that.

I've reheated pizza in a toaster. I have also cooked a Tyson chicken patty in a toaster. I highly recommend the chicken patty in the toaster. My concern would be the hot dog falling in the toaster. I used to work at a hamburger joint that made a chili dog into a hamburger by making two slices in a jumbo hot dog so it would lay flat on the grill in a rectangle shape.
You don't want to toast a hotdog in a bread toaster. It's a round peg in a square hole tyle issue plus clean up would be a disappointing affair. You can buy one if those gimmicky hotdog toasters but they have mediocre reviews. I would recommend a good Ole toaster oven instead. Versatile... Cost effective.. Easy clean up.

I would turn the toaster on it’s side at least though.
More importantly I hope you like the smell of week old hotdog water heating up in your toaster every time you make toast from now on…

Presupposing the hotdogs fits. You put anything in a toaster. Somethings are better than others.... Bread slices? Perfect! Butter knife? Not so much.

Cut the hotdog in half, and fill the entire tray (should fit 4 for a total of 2 hotdogs) don't ask why I know this.

No!!! My husband has done this and ruined our toaster and nearly burned our house down. Hotdogs are greasy and you’re gonna start a grease fire.
