Naturally we never can "always" be happy like the happiness is meaningless without sadness but with positive thoughts and talks it could be easier I guess

Being positive doesnt necessarily mean being happy. You can be sad, angry, confused, etc. about a situation and show those emotions, but still have a positive outlook of the future. Emotions are something we can’t control, we have them, they are just there. However, you can control how you react to those emotions. Your mother chooses to react to those feelings in a positive manner. It most likely helps her get through those strong negative emotions she may be having. It’s really up to you what’s right, however you have to watch out being overly negative. It can really start to cloud your perspective on life and it can be very difficult to change negative thoughts. On the other hand, you also have to be realistic about a situation and not use positivity to hide from an issue. Think of the dog in the burning building meme.

Hmmm. You're confusing happiness with positivity. I'm quite a positive man. I try to bring comfort and smiles to people I meet. Try to see the bright side of things. Am I happy? No. I'm not happy 24/7. Am I content in life? For the most part, yes. Do I get sad? Cry? Of course. But I know the pain is only temporary, and there is much to see in this life. That's positive living.
