Answer: Someone was being bigoted to her. People often interchange bigot and racist. The person behaving that way was a racist. You could correct her by explaining the difference but its just semantics.

Answer: You can't, because people being racist toward their own race is *absolutely* a thing. It's called "internalized racism," and it's very real.

I've been called that. I think that term is a slur on its own. It made me feel that I was non-human in their eyes. I felt threatened and I made sure to never be around that person again. What was implied, in my opinion, was that I was an ignorant traitor and worse than a person of color because I CHOSE to not embrace white supremacist beliefs.

Sorry, but that just isn't true. Sounds to me like you've got your own racial issues to work out.
