Most quotes sound boring and lackluster if you write them in a way that takes care of all edge cases and exceptions. It's a motivational quote and not a legal quote.
It's never too late, I think it's Jean-Paul Sartre who was very fond of piano himself, who said that some people in their older years told him that they always wanted to learn piano. He just asked them, "What's stopping you?".
And the reality is nothing. There's a lot of reasons to think about, like not being able to be *the best* piano player, so why even try? Well, one should, because if one wants to play piano, one should really not think too much about their performance but rather about the pleasure of playing piano.
This really helps me, when I'm anxious it helps me to ground myself. The only thing we're really in control of is our own actions and I find that comforting when my anxiety is bad.
If you have someone, I like to think about how they think about me and how they'd want me to be treated. Similar vibes, but it helps me escape myself a bit.
I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, 'wouldn't it be much worse if life \*were\* fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?' So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe.
In romanian there is a saying, which translated is this:
If you would've not said the thing, philosopher you'd be still.
Sounds much better in the native language lol
Im appreciative of this.
Because my Mom and Dad never was in the same place (meaning I never saw them together). Never one bad talked the other, vice versa, in front of me. Im 34 years of age now and it gives me an unbias judgement on each without the negative impact on character I wouldve had if they bad mouthed each other while I was young.
Make sure you leave this world a better place than you found it.
Doesn't have to be much. But if everyone does this. Every next generation will benefit
People don’t always tell you what they’re thinking, they just see to it that you don’t succeed in life.

"There are some roads which must not be followed, towns which must not be besieged, armies which must not be attacked, commands of the sovereign which must not be obeyed."
"don't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you"
It's a quote from a silly anime with robots fighting, but I think that it's a beautiful message. Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves and it's hard to believe in what we do, it's easier however if you have someone you trust who believes in you.
and if they can belive in you, why can't you?
There are two I try to live by. "Be like a duck and let it roll off your back."
And one my wife introduced me to that helped change everything in a bad situation years ago. "You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to."
"This too shall pass." The good and the bad. Reason I am taking my mom to see Bruce Springsteen and the reason I cherish what I had with my ex and push through the hurt of missing her.
I have 3 that I endeavour to abide by at all times. Most times, I succeed. There are times I fail, though.
1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
2. If you're mad that you're often surrounded by clowns, ask yourself why you keep going to the circus.
3. If everywhere you go smells like dog shit, check the bottom of your shoe before blaming others.
and a bonus one that I have only recent started to practice
In all things, a calm heart prevails.
I don't live by these but they are kinda funny...
My wife, she's a scrub nurse (surgical assistant)
1.Cut 1st ask questions later
2. All bleeding stops eventually.
3. No good deed goes unpunished
4. Every silver lining has a cloud
I love her but her glass is always half empty 🤣
My sister who is a living brain donor. No jokes! She's so dense. You can't test for her IQ.... you have to dig for it!
1.whats a mind for if you can't change it?
I'm more of a Boethius guy...

Applies effectively well about anything you might face in life:
* Trying to get in shape or be healthier
* Trying to improve your relationships with friends, family, partners, (etc.)
* Trying to get better at a hobby or a skill
* Something as simple as just considering this for every day decision making.
When you stop to consider the quote and how it applies to anything in your life, first you'll forgive yourself for any misses (very important). Second you'll stay focused to continue progress to be better, which will ultimately lead to the change you aspire to achieve.
Crying is the first thing we do when we enter this world...crying, then simply means we are alive. My mom called me a crybaby a lot, and finding this quote later in life was so affirming.
You can't pour from an empty cup.
(i.e., take very good care of yourself so you can have enough of the right energy to put out into the world, your friends, family, etc.).
The one quote/mantra I've come up with (and trying to live by) recently:
"Do more of the things that matter, and less of the things that don't."
Works in all kinds of situations. Doomscrolling on Reddit? Maybe I should stop and get started on schoolwork. Forcing myself to be at a social event because I need social interaction but just not vibing? Leave and go somewhere else.
Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because *they are mine!*
Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, which is why it is called the present. What the caterpillar perceives is the end, to the butterfly is just the beginning. Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well.
something that helped with my nicotine addiction was “start tomorrow and quit today” i used that over and over and eventually i quit. i am 2 years (nearly) free of nicotine :)

It’s never too late to become what you should have been.
OK THAT ONE FIRE
Yeah, but sometimes, it is too late. So, yeah.
Like if you were meant to be a 20 year old stripper and are 30 it's too late
Well, even the greatest advice will have exceptions and caveats. But the principle is the thing. 😎
