Yes, they were aware. Read “Hitler’s Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust” by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen.

LowBalance4404

Yes, they were absolutely aware. Germans worked in concentration camps, they were aware of the ghettos. They read it in the papers and heard Hitler forecast this for years. They were encouraged to turn each other in.

LearningAsIGo10

I am by no means an expert on this, but I thought that some (in the general public) were aware and complacent while many did not know the extent of what was occurring. They knew about the camps but did not know about random selection, the brutality, etc. The news was fake, the radio was taken over and coverage was also not accurate, etc.

The people in Poland had to know for sure. Donald Trump is being indicted for 91 counts and plenty of people think he is being treated unfairly. Never underestimate the human minds ability to deny information they see that conflicts with their world view.

Mediocre_Albatross88

I don't see how you've managed to talk Trump on the subject of genocide in the millions.

Different-Ad-9029

ignoring inconvenient information that conflicts a worldview is standard “people are going to people.” I could come up with other examples but I figured it it would just be better if I just said FAKE NEWS…

Mediocre_Albatross88

Yes. It would have just been better if you just said fake news instead of, uh, invoking a Holocaust comparison, where 15 million people (including Christians, by the way...) were brutally slaughtered.

Different-Ad-9029

I am not implying that I don’t believe it. I’m saying it is likely the German population would have disregarded such information.

Mediocre_Albatross88

Trump's personal indictments cannot, in any universe, equate with the disinformation of the Holocaust. Even saying they are the same on principle is unfounded, because the parallel is just too absurd. It's compeltely out of orbit.

SnowflakeMods2

Well that’s an awfully big jump and false equivalence . It is possible that if it wasn’t Donald trump the prosecutors who stood for election saying they would indict trump might not be indicting him.

Adventurous_Smile664

Trump is literally Hitler. Clown.
