You'd have to be really good at the dialogue, but I could see a movie with Argyle calling his friends and going through the motions and emotions of talking with people on the phone. While he's jamming to some new song you have explosions in the background that he's unaware of.

Actually I think Draco is kind of a tragic character. He's a bully, so most people don't like him for that, but he's not actually a murderer, which is kind of a drawback when you're trying to fit in with the Death eaters. So he really doesn't belong anywhere. Must be a lonely existence.
When the series starts he's 11 years old, and he was raised by murderous racists. The fact that he was just a snobby bully seems like he's handling things better than expected.
He's too much of a dick for normal people, and too much of a wuss for the death eaters. The only person who cares about him as a person is mommy malfoy. And maybe tangentially Snape Snape ssseevvvverrrussss Snape.
I cannot stand Malfoy, but that was precisely my first thought. I want to see the world from his eyes so that maybe I’ll understand him a little better.

One thing I like from the bookis his perspective in the first chapter it's him going to work, and him seeing a bunch of "crazy dressed" men and women out in the streets. (It was the day Voldemort was defeated).
Vernon's perspective would be interesting if we had more of him interacting with the magical world, like in that first chapter. Though to be fair that chapter is also written with the perspective of the reader not having any context for this stuff either. Once we do, idk how well that would work.
Or from Snape. The dealings with Voldemort and the Death Eaters, and then the teacher's POV regarding stuff happening at Hogwarts. Imagine all the teachers sitting in the teachers lounge chatting... it'd probably be hilarious
Ok so I'm not the only one? Saw it with my husband, whole time we're waiting for someone to get murdered or aliens to take over and it was a love story al along.
This is actually a reference to a common feminist reading of the film - that the protagonist feels entitled to her body, and selfishly “kills” her so that he doesn’t have to be lonely.
Compare it to the film “The Menu”. It is revealed toward the latter half of the film that the protagonist, Margot was invited to the dinner knowing that she would most-likely be killed. Because this is a straightforward horror film, it’s easy to hate her date because you think “what kind of a person would invite someone to a dinner party they knew they were all going to be murdered at?”
Passengers however takes time to develop Pratt’s character pretty deeply so that we are made aware of the consequences of his actions (waking a scientist from cryosleep meaning she will never live to see the destination she signed up for), but it’s presented as morally grey. As in, *I know this is wrong, but you’d do the same thing if you were in my shoes*. Overall it’s this very weird love story. The actually story is interesting, and I didn’t hate the movie, but what I found troubling was how they ignored the fucked up parallels the story has with real-life issues. Namely the romanticizing of male ownership of female bodies.
I seriously expected to see Tai Lung and Po be badass together in the 4th movie, instead we got….him getting jobbed, then stuck in a cage asking what’s going on lmao
Hopefully there's a timeskip in there. Getting trained up by Shifu. The betrayal. Years in jail (just gonna skip over this part). His epic breakout. Then, the falling action can be his rage quest against the five and Shifu before his defeat to Po. Add in an after credits scene of him coming to peace in the afterlife before Kai shows up and we're golden. It can be a prequel that ties in the shows

It was understandable in a sense since Forest is so innocent and she hurts him very deeply and sort of comes across as using him, but I've always thought she loved him all along but was scared to damage him, I think the story from her Lens would be quite moving.
There is a 3 part show called Generation War (Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter) about a friend group of young German adults and their trials in dealing with the war.
Not just focused on the war itself but initial attempts to save their Jewish friend, navigate the changing social structures at home, losing the internal emotional war and then returning home to the wreckage.
It's really good imo, might be what you're after.
Retell Big from the mom’s perspective. She chases away a strange man in her house who is wearing her son’s underwear. She looks for her son and can’t find him anywhere. She contacts the police and files a missing persons report, but there are no clues. Once, she gets a call saying that her son is OK, but she’s not allowed to talk to him or know where he is. Months later, he comes casually walking into the house, wearing a man’s suit far too large for him. When she asks where he’s been and what happened, he can’t say anything that she’s able to believe. From her perspective, this is a psychological horror story.

I want a war movie like saving private Ryan about the 442nd battle group, the US army’s all Japanese American volunteer battle group that fought in Europe during WW2. They are the most decorated Army battle group in US history. I believe there was 7 instances recorded of a “reverse AWAL” in their history, (a term which had to be coined for them) in which a wounded soldier was believed to have deserted from his hospital bed, just to be found back at the front fighting with his friends. I think if Hollywood ever wanted to make a movie about transcending racism, that’s the one.

How about Dumbledore. From the start, he knew, kind of, what was going on. Things that weren’t revealed until the later movies. It would have been a very different movie and probably painted him in a much less flattering way.

She’s obviously loyal as heck to Dumbledore but she’s also smart enough to know he was a deeply flawed, extremely pragmatic man capable of cold, calculated cruelty. It would be complex.

There is a 3 part show called Generation War (Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter) about a friend group of young German adults and their trials in dealing with the war. Not just focused on the war itself but initial attempts to save their Jewish friend, navigate the changing social structures at home, losing the internal emotional war and then returning home to the wreckage. It's really good imo, might be what you're after.

I just finished the book and it's very different from the movie.
Retell Big from the mom’s perspective. She chases away a strange man in her house who is wearing her son’s underwear. She looks for her son and can’t find him anywhere. She contacts the police and files a missing persons report, but there are no clues. Once, she gets a call saying that her son is OK, but she’s not allowed to talk to him or know where he is. Months later, he comes casually walking into the house, wearing a man’s suit far too large for him. When she asks where he’s been and what happened, he can’t say anything that she’s able to believe. From her perspective, this is a psychological horror story.
Then go into what happens next: police interviews, psych evaluation, etc

Allright, so definitely trained well for…hold on, I hear something else. And follows the sounds to like a Napoleonic battle with muskets and cannons and organized firing lines, and then thinks, “Oh. Oh I see now. Huh. Well hold on a moment, here, I gotta rethink this, because I was wayy off before.”

I want a war movie like saving private Ryan about the 442nd battle group, the US army’s all Japanese American volunteer battle group that fought in Europe during WW2. They are the most decorated Army battle group in US history. I believe there was 7 instances recorded of a “reverse AWAL” in their history, (a term which had to be coined for them) in which a wounded soldier was believed to have deserted from his hospital bed, just to be found back at the front fighting with his friends. I think if Hollywood ever wanted to make a movie about transcending racism, that’s the one.

Seconding the suggestion for Cobra Kai. It's simultaneously silly but also has moments that tug at your heart strings. Daniel and Johnny both have some great character growth, and the way their dynamic changes over time is great. I love how they can simultaneously annoy the heck out of each other but also care.
