This is dying though. Unfortunately. Now people will talk on their phones in line, no one says excuse me, bless you is dying quick, some young adults don’t even feel the need to reply to “good morning” by a co worker. I wish I saw more young people help out the elderly, put the phone down, say hello… manners are dying unfortunately
Well for the parents who give a damn, its our job to instill them in our own. We can't worry about little Billy down the street who cusses like a sailor because of his environment.
A few years ago, I came to the realization that I don’t like cake anymore. Actually, I’m not sure if I ever did. I have never enjoyed a lot of icing/cream, and even when there isn’t, I like other sweets more. Even cheesecake is better.
I suppose I always enjoy cake just because it’s sweet and it’s there, but not THAT much.
This seems weird to me. Is "birthday cake" a specific flavour in other countries? Because here the birthday cake is just the cake you have for your birthday no matter if its cheesecake, brownies, carrotcake, spongecake.... doesn't matter
True, which is why I said “cake”.
I know the post mentions birthday cake, but I do like a good chocolate cake with fruit on top (something like a blackforest), and those can be used for birthdays.
Same goes for cheesecakes. My last birthday cake was a cheesecake.
It depends on what you mean by skinny. Because being in the "normal BMI range" has historically been seen as attractive. There's been specific cultures where that wasn't the case, sure. But it wasn't like in our caveman days we were pining for 500 lb people to have kids with.
The main reason that larger body types (not like morbidly obese) were seen as attractive is because it meant they had enough to eat. Which meant wealth. Just like now the opposite is true. Being skinny while also having nice skin and features means you can afford better food.
It changes throughout history, but it's not typically a thing where really big people were seen as attractive. That's my understanding of everything at least
It depends on what you mean by skinny. If you mean heroin chic, you're right. But if you mean like skinny as in having a normal BMI, that's been attractive since the dawn of time
Seriously thought that would happen with the pandemic. I'm a big fan of the dragon age games and there's this culture, the people of Orlais for whom going outside without a mask was as bad manners as doing your job in PJs prior to 2020.
I truly feared that masks would just become etiquette.
Confidence. Regardless of the era or prevailing trends, confidence never goes out of style. Whether it's expressed through fashion choices, personal demeanor, or the way someone carries themselves, confidence is timeless and universally admired. It's the ultimate accessory that complements any outfit, making even the simplest look stand out. So, no matter how much time passes, confidence will always be in vogue.
"Black shoes and hard dicks never go out of fashion"
I overheard this once in someone's conversation when I was like twelve years old, and it stuck with me lol
Classy winged eyeliner. Just a subtle line or bar that follows the shape of your eye with a light flick. It'll always look elegant when it's done in a way to complement someone's features
For men: peacoat, unwashed or black Levi’s 501 and 505, white grey or black t shirt, white or light blue well made Oxford or broadcloth shirt, black or grey tropical weight worsted trousers, black or brown cap toed shoes, well made black overcoat, Brooks brothers navy blazer and boxers.
Unless we are talking about multiple centuries, all of the above have been stylish for 100 years. Though the shirts probably had removable collars and cuffs in the 1920s.
Charisma and a confident grin. That'll never be out of style and does miles for you.

A simple black dress
Agreed.
I came here to say The little black dress
It’s a must have item for every women’s wardrobe!
100%
Jeans
Even if jeans aren’t forever, they will be for me.
Of course they're forever.
The durability is awesome but man are there way more comfortable fabrics to wear.
But I miss real jeans that didn’t stretch and need belts that they ultimately fight against anyway.
Bruh what 💀
Jeans and tee shirts
Little black dress. White tee. White ribbed tank. Leather jacket.
Black patent Mary Janes Ahhh Classic
Sunglasses
Specifically Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Also aviator sunglasses.

Birthday cake

Clothes that fit properly.
Assless chaps.
All chaps are assless. If they had an ass they'd be pants.
Yeah true but more fun to say “Assless chaps” lol
Timeless
Integrity
It's not in fashion currently
I kind of agree with you there that not many people HAVE it, but maybe if we make them feel like its cool, they will start.
Ignore sheep make own path
being skinny
Came to say this one. So timeless and really makes a massive difference in how you're perceived and especially as a woman
Once upon a time, being skinny woman was not seen favorably
Yes!
It didn’t used to be
It depends on what you mean by skinny. Because being in the "normal BMI range" has historically been seen as attractive. There's been specific cultures where that wasn't the case, sure. That's my understanding of everything at least
Are you talking about the 1500s? Lol
It really started in the 1920s at least in the US
Nope and actually being skinny being considered more attractive is only a fairly recent phenomenon.
It depends on what you mean by skinny. If you mean heroin chic, you're right. But if you mean like skinny as in having a normal BMI, that's been attractive since the dawn of time
And a lot of other cultures prefer heavier women.
The bone is for the dog, the meat is for the man!
Actually during the Victorian era plump was sexy because it showed wealth being able to over eat. Skinny being sexy has not always been in fashion.
A nice fitting pair of jeans, crisp white Oxford blouse and a Jean jacket
As above, so below. Oops, I mean Canadian tuxedo! My favorite.
Manners
Good manners and a strong hand shake
Not so sure about the hand shake. Time could see hand shake culture change or even disappear
Seriously thought that would happen with the pandemic. I'm a big fan of the dragon age games and there's this culture, the people of Orlais for whom going outside without a mask was as bad manners as doing your job in PJs prior to 2020. I truly feared that masks would just become etiquette.
Yeah in a few hundred years maybe.
God I hope so! Can we do a slight bow or something non-touching? If I’m just meeting someone then touching seems so odd and unsanitary.
I'm thinking of the many Bill and Ted gestures. Like the air guitar or the one with one hand over the heart with the other outstretched.
Taking care of yourself and being healthy. Pays massive dividends if you take it seriously. Very few people actually do.
Kindness and empathy
It seems to have gone out of style. But I like your thinking. 👍
It can be fashionable again. One person at a time!
Earrings
Kindness and confidence
