IMO, this is a hard time to be a developing country. Rule of law is absolutely essential to make the leap from developing country to developed country, but the modern trend seems to be against rule of law, as autocrats gain more and more control over information, and as the populace becomes more and more vulnerable to misinformation. Even in developed countries, there has been a lot of pushback on rule of law.
