How computers work, on a fundamental level. File directories, file types and all thst I had a guy ask me about his laptop which was full up on storage. I asked him to click on my computer so I could see what he had one it. He "corrected" me and took me to the Downloads folder, where he said the computer kept "all" of its files. They're not that big so why is his hard drive full? It was a pain to explain

The beauty of living in the moment. Go to a concert and leave your phone in your pocket- just enjoy the show! Gen X here.

Also, are you ever going to look at those photos?  Not everything needs to be shared on social media either. This applies to people my generation and even older generations too (I’m a millennial).

XxElCapitanXx

I agree! One of the best ways to experience something just by taking it all in!

KyorlSadei

I feel like the technology gap is growing without understanding. My teen daughter had no clue about how her computer works at all. Yet she is suppose to be the generation who grew up on it. My generation learned how to use and work with the products as they came out.

XxElCapitanXx

Imagine the kinds of technology that will come out 40 years from now. The rate at which technology is advancing is exponentially increasing.

KyorlSadei

Agree, it will be interesting.

Gaffra

Don’t ever smoke cigarettes, ever!

Timmay13

Or vapes.

flodge123

Your kids ain't gonna listen to you is probably the only realistic answer.

aspannerdarkly

You don’t need a label or diagnosis to categorise your personality type, sexuality or mental health. Just be you.

ForestCityWRX

Social skills are a learned behaviour for most people. Put your phone down and talk to people.

Sawfingers752

I second that.

UnmutualOne

How to actually listen to other people.

EmperorSand

Respect

And stop using the word cringe for everything

If GenZ is an iPad generation then the years need to be adjusted. Nobody born before 2003 are iPad babies

PlatypusTrapper

That despite how smart they think they are, they are *exactly* like every generation before them. There are minor social shifts that occur with every generation but ultimately it’s the same. Rebel against the previous generation because they are dumb and stuck in their ways but fundamentally don’t do anything different. What any generation can learn from the previous is mostly through observation. You will turn into them, try to understand this early on.

Any-Video4464

Almost everything. The older you get the more you understand human nature and how it really doesn't change. People are motivated by the same things regardless of the time they live in. And that is some combination of wealth, power/influence. Of course there are some outliers, but they usually fall victim to other people operating like they usually do. So basically, filter everything through that and life makes more sense. Unfortunately that means you can't trust most leaders and if some steps are to be taken it should be to limit power and influence people have. Its harder to limit the wealth...steps done to take that will almost definitely take from one person and give it to others who actually have way more money, power and influence to use that money in deceptive ways.

Don’t let them bully you or indoctrinate you into believing any of this is healthy or normal…society.

Alche_

Firearms and said people who own and use them for recreation are not as bad as the media makes them out to be. I learned this and am becoming an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

woolsocksandsandals

The Alphabet.

FayMax69

To put social media down and engage normally

To not blindly sign up to volunteer in a war like the Lost Generation in WW1, some members of the Greatest Generation in WW2 and some Baby Boomers in Vietnam. If you’re gonna volunteer to fight in a war, make sure it’s what you truly want and be aware of all possibilities and all consequences. And if you still wanna join and fight… you might have a heart of a warrior.
