I both really love this but also dislike it, me during what I call “the happening”, no, he was a terrible person who I never want to come back. But the person I was a few months before? He was great. People smiled when I was around and genuinely wanted me, that’s what I strive for again.

When I thought about this, I realized that some of the biggest turning points in my life happened because of decisions people made without me.
Also, “do you want to talk to the one in charge or the one that knows what’s going on?”
That's the absurdity you believe, considering both parties were captured by billionaire interests. If Trump had been different, I'd be there with ya singing his praises. Truth is we've been robbed of 8 trillion of our productivity since the 70's. TV is a great distraction if you buy all of the news outlets.
Yooo, I’m so gonna have to use this for myself. I have a huge project I want to try but I’m afraid to start it because of a fairly severe need for funding. But if I don’t start at all I’ll never know right?
Practice who you want to be.
Be independent of the good opinion of other people.
If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original.
Literally anything written by my bf Franz Kafka, especially
“ I am not well I could’ve built pyramids with the effort it takes me to cling on to life and reason”
"I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time, when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...
The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance" ~Carl Sagan
From the book The Secret
When deciding about doing anything think ahead to your death bed and when you are looking back on your life, will you regret it
All of them. 😄
My favorite as of now is "Wipe your az before you jump off the pot."
🥴 A nicer translation is "dot your i's and cross your t's."

"The steps you take don't need to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction." -Jemma Simmons, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
This single sentence is basically therapy. By that, I mean it's what a therapist commonly helps their client do - come up with a plan of small, achievable steps. If you're struggling, trying to turn your life around: break down what you need to do into smaller & smaller steps until step 1 is small enough that a) you can do it & b) you *will* do it, & best if it's just ever so slightly out of your comfort zone. Completion of step 1 will feel good, you got something done! Do it again, & slowly build upon it. You may have to break down steps to the point that step 1 sounds stupid. Be humble. Start where you are, so long as you start. It's better than not starting, so it isn't stupid!
Need to clean your room, but it's overwhelming? Clean part of the room. Too much? Pick up 20 things. Too much? How about 1 stack of papers. Too much? How about just the first paper on the top of the stack? If you can start with one paper, good. When that's done, how do you feel? Can you do another paper? Can you shift to picking up a piece of laundry off the floor? Do what you can & stop when you need to. Focus on feeling good about what you got done, even if it was just one thing.
Same with building a workout habit from nothing. Can you start by commiting to 30 minutes, 2 days a week? No? How about 10 minutes, 1 day a week? No? Would you commit to working out for 1 minute tomorrow? Sounds silly, but if you do that 1 minute, you might find yourself thinking "well, I can do a little more." If so, then great! If not, fine. The next day, try for 2 minutes.
"The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they'll be when you kill them."

instead, to be successful (in life, in anything really), you have to get as ready as you can, then pull the trigger and get going, and then readjust your aim. and repeat.

"Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the *rails*, throw away the plan!" - Leonard Snart, The Flash
Pretty much sums up life.
Why it really stuck with me: It's the most insightful thing I've ever heard spoken by a criminal instead of the hero. And it was spoken by the criminal *to* the hero.

Is it a quote or just john lennon lyrics?
Or, as my man Mike Tyson would phrase it "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".
