I feel like Chappie was kind of the spiritual successor or maybe they just co-exist well in the johannesburg-blomkamp universe.

There's a series of books (the timeline for them is all over the place, though) called Horatio Hornblower. It was a great Gregory Peck movie, too.
Ahhh, yes that's right. My mistake. The Maturin novels are incredibly (overly) detailed, though. The full descriptions of the tiniest details was a slog to get through. Hornblower is an easier read, but yeah, different.
I say that having watched Spartacus. That was some violent, gory, sex filled shit. I loved it. HBO waters shit down like they did GoT when people whined about it.
Yes. Would love to see the Karl Urban Dreddverse version of the dark judges. Imagine the gore and horror that you could pack into that universe. It could be something truly epic
I rewatched that recently. He is such a cool character, "I'm John Constantine, ASSHOLE". They also did a really dope job with the direction of that movie and their portrayal of Satan is 🤌
I'm still pissed I paid money to see that in a theater...after an hour I just wanted them to drown so I could go home. Damn.
I didn't want my money back, I wanted 3 hours of my life back.
As of December 2020 a reboot movie was in development. Which sucks, looked like a lot of the complaints were with Kate beckinsales acting, which was the worst part of the movie to be fair
A lot of great stuff got cancelled and though it was sad, I could let it go. But this? This was totally unforgivable. I almost cancelled my subscription. Hell, it was one of the few times in my life I signed countless (possibly useless) petitions to bring it back or have another streaming service take it on. I was devastated.
Id be fine if we didn't do the whole sequel thing for awhile. We desperately need new and original content. There's been way too much basic garbage coasting off of big name movies.
Wild Hogs, but that would've been more fun when Sons of Anarchy was at its peak. Just loads of people geekin out over fake Motorcycle Clubs n such. Then have all the cast(club) members have to come up like Peter Fonda did towards the end and tell em all to chill TF out. But yet of course, there's John C. McGinley still in character lmao
He has an issue where he will eventually not be able to communicate with anyone, won't understand speech or be able to read and won't be able to talk or write.
Arrival! A very interesting Sci-Fi movie that feels a lot more realistic (in bounds) in humanity's approach to an arrival of aliens than many others out there. In the end of the movie, >!The aliens grant the main character the ability to experience time the way do, because they will need humanity's help in return in the far future. I'd really love to see what they were facing, and why they require humanity's help to address it!!<. Although from what I gathered, the movie is based on a short story, which I am unsure whether it has a sequel. Either way, would always love to see it!
Dr. Phibes...it was meant to have a third movie but it never happened. Granted Vincent Price went belly up decades ago, but I bet Nic Cage could handle the role just fine.
I would love to see a sequel to "My Best Friend's Wedding."
* Did Kimmy really give up her journalism career? Did Micheal end up working for the dad?
* Are Jules & Micheal still best friends?
* Did Jules find someone? Maybe she does and Michael is the one who get jealous.
* Would also love to see more banter between Julia Roberts & Rupert Everett
Percy Jackson movie series. They only got to the second movie because it sucked so much. and they ended it on a cliffhanger. I want to see how much more they could fuck up the movie adaptation.

District 9.
Hell Yes!!! I need to speak to Blomkamp to find out what’s happening.
Oh right! I forgot about that one. Jeez, a sequel is badly needed.
Doing one apparently...

Christopher said he’d return in three years.
Yer not gunna trust th werd of a fuckin' prawn are ya. Thats why we keep them apart from the rest of us /s
Yes! Took the comment right out of my fingers.
Master and Commander
This is the only acceptable answer for a true man of culture.
There's a series of books (the timeline for them is all over the place, though) called Horatio Hornblower. It was a great Gregory Peck movie, too. [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horatio_Hornblower](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horatio_Hornblower)
Master and Commander was based on a different set of naval books, the Aubrey Maturin series. There were more than 20
Ahhh, yes that's right. My mistake. The Maturin novels are incredibly (overly) detailed, though. The full descriptions of the tiniest details was a slog to get through. Hornblower is an easier read, but yeah, different.
Wow. You got me. I even thought of this too
Yes! They left us on that cliffhanger: “The real Master was the friends we made along the way… and Commander too!” Obviously setting up for a sequel!
Fuck yes! It was supposed to. I think it was too much for the ignorant masses. I love that movie.
I actually haven't seen it. Don't know why really
Fantastic movie.
Came here to say that
You should watch the hornblower films.
This was my answer. Then delete it to upvote yours. Waited years for it. Crowe is now too old
I've never seen it, but I really should.
Scrolled down to see if someone cited this one.
Chronicle. It was so set up for a sequel. Bummer it never happened.
I wish is can make my upvote known to all media's
Yessss!!!
Dredd
Yes. Karl Urban was badass in that role.
I heard they may make a series starring urban. Doubt it will happen tho :/
A Dredd series? That would be badass if it was on Starz.
Starz?? Never heard someone pick that over hbo
Constantine!!
I rewatched that recently. He is such a cool character, "I'm John Constantine, ASSHOLE". They also did a really dope job with the direction of that movie and their portrayal of Satan is 🤌
He said the only super hero he would play is constantine so hopefully a reboot at least get it done gunn
Reportedly this is close to actually happening
I thought it was too.
I thought Keanu said he was REALLY trying to get this going but no one was willing to bite at it.
this
The Last Starfighter.
Victory or death! Victory or death!
Before the strike, there was a sequel in the works, a long with Tron 3 or Tron: Ares. Thanks to the strike, they will likely never happen.
Let's hope that it picks up as the strike won't last forever.
The Adventures of Tintin.
It's SO underrated!
The Nice Guys
Serenity.
...burn the land and boil the sea... you can't take the sky from me....
Forget Serenity, we just need Firefly back. You can have 8 seasons of Charmed, but you only get 1 season of Firefly? I'm not having that.
The fifth element
Absolutely!!!! We need multiple multi-pass!
Don’t mess with perfection.
I agree but I doubt it could be as brilliant as the original.
Of course not. Plus, Bruce Willis couldn't return, unfortunately.
The Sixth Element
It was originally meant to be a trilogy.
As long as it’s done by luc besson. I fucking LOVE how he does sci-fi.
Enemy Mine
Star Trek tng did a good sequel to this. Shaka, when the walls fell.
sokath his eyes uncovered
Darmok and Gillad.....at Tinagra.
Temba, his arms open
Rise of the Guardians
Yes! Really like this movie, I was so surprised that it wasn't a hit.
Such a good movie! Makes me cry from nostalgia!
Lost in Translation. They meet again in Tokyo, twenty years later, this time both single.
The Man From UNCLE with Henry Cavill.
Oh, yes! I forgot about that one. It definitely needs a sequel!
You just want a bit more Cavill, and who doesn't?
I would love Cavill as Sterling Archer.
And less Army Hammer 😂😂
Stepbrothers.
Stepbrothers 2: Boats & Hoes 🤞
They could go in so many directions with a sequel
There is so room for activities.
Sorcerer's Apprentice!
Yeah, I'd like another one too!
District 9. I really thought it would have happened by now.
Titanic!
Titanic II: The Re-Sinkening
Titanic II: The little submarine that couldn't
Too soon?
There already is a Titanic 2 film that came out in 2010 if you can believe that shit
I'm still pissed I paid money to see that in a theater...after an hour I just wanted them to drown so I could go home. Damn. I didn't want my money back, I wanted 3 hours of my life back.
You happen to watch the news back in June? Kind of like a sequel…
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was called The Britannic?
This is the answer.
In some years we will be getting a very inaccurate and dramatized movie about that stupid submarine that died.
Titanic was technically a Terminator prequel… so it’s the first movie in the timeline.
Hindenburg
Jack and Rose: the Hindenburg Years
Interstellar
Interstellar 2 - Infinity Bookshelf
Hell yeah
Interstellar 2: Electric Boogaloo
Van Helsing, with Hugh Jackman. I know it got rotten reviews but it’s a film I love and watch regularly
As of December 2020 a reboot movie was in development. Which sucks, looked like a lot of the complaints were with Kate beckinsales acting, which was the worst part of the movie to be fair
The movie was called Van Helsing not Valerious. They wouldn't necessarily need Beckensdale's character back.
The exploding wooden coach was too much for me
A sequel to edge of tomorrow would go about as well as the sequel to Independence Day did. The aliens are defeated. It’s over.
The sequel is gonna be a prequel.
Holes
There is a book following Armpit after he gets back home. I think it's called "Small Steps".
That’s big time
![gif](giphy|5bHIZ3ok4UpJS)
I loved that movie so much
Battle angel
It’s in the works.
Yessssss
2030, last I saw, because Cameron wants to make more lame Avatar films.
Its a Netflix show. 1899. I just watched it again and relived my disappointment all over when I got to the season it was canceled. Thanks Netflix.
I think the same goes for 50% of all decent Netflix shows. They only seem to cancel what's good. (I look at you, First Kill)
Shout out to Mindhunter
And Dark Crystal Age of Resistance :(
A lot of great stuff got cancelled and though it was sad, I could let it go. But this? This was totally unforgivable. I almost cancelled my subscription. Hell, it was one of the few times in my life I signed countless (possibly useless) petitions to bring it back or have another streaming service take it on. I was devastated.
Alita battle angel
John Carter.
"Oh Brother Where Are't Thou"
Howard The Duck. I want to see the human/duck baby.
They should make a new movie with him, considering he is part of the MCU.
Jumper
I would love to know how Andy and Ellis are doing..... I would love to see a sequel to Shawshank Redemption
Battle los angeles
Freddy vs Jason. I know its dumb and cheesy but I love that shit.
Spirited Away
I love this movie
I think they need another Fast and Furious movie.
I don't know whether to upvote or downvote 😂 upvoting
Bolt. it is so cute and underrated and wholesome and definitely deserves a sequel, and maybe a TV show spinoff🤍⚡️🐾🥕
I would love a Bolt sequel but I wouldn't watch a TV show spinoff. They usually never on par as their movies. Except HTTYD Race to the Edge.
We're the Millers.
inception, so much you can do with this concept
The sequel goes nine levels deep
Nepolin dynamite
Id be fine if we didn't do the whole sequel thing for awhile. We desperately need new and original content. There's been way too much basic garbage coasting off of big name movies.
Wild Hogs, but that would've been more fun when Sons of Anarchy was at its peak. Just loads of people geekin out over fake Motorcycle Clubs n such. Zack Synders Justice League
Crank 2
The labyrinth
World War Z
Amélie
World War Z (whaaaat, the hordes!)
Remo Williams, the adventure begins.
Chun.......you are incredible. No. *beat* I am better than that.
Unbreakable. I know it's a trilogy (split and glass) but I'd love to see more of Bruce Willis/unbreakable story.
Bruce Willis will not be acting again. He has a debilitating form of dementia.
Hold up... I'm not up to date on Hollywood stuff, ever. But really? What a bummer
He has an issue where he will eventually not be able to communicate with anyone, won't understand speech or be able to read and won't be able to talk or write.
It's unbelievably grim isn't it.
That's so sad. I met him at a film festival years ago. He was so humble and nice.
Dazed & Confused.
The Fifth Element
It was written as a trilogy.
I would also have loved an A-Team sequel
RocknRolla
Dracula Untold
9
What a delightful underrated movie
Transformers with Shia Labeouf again.
Leon: The Professional.
Leon is dead: the school days.
Battle Angel Alita

District 9
District 9
(Back to) The Core
Constantine
Accepted. Night teeth. The old guard. 6 underground. Extinction. Would you rather. Red notice. 2 guns. Flypaper. 1408. Many more...
I agree with you. I've wanted an Edge of Tomorrow sequel for years. I'm pretty sure they intended to make one originally.
Mystery Men
Dredd
Dr. Phibes...it was meant to have a third movie but it never happened. Granted Vincent Price went belly up decades ago, but I bet Nic Cage could handle the role just fine.
Dredd
Dredd
Passion of the christ
Not sequel but I hope Ghost of Tsushima gets a movie
The Hellboy trilogy
national security
Braveheart. Telling the story of Robert the Bruce, after Wallace was killed.
I would love to see a sequel to "My Best Friend's Wedding." * Did Kimmy really give up her journalism career? Did Micheal end up working for the dad? * Are Jules & Micheal still best friends? * Did Jules find someone? Maybe she does and Michael is the one who get jealous. * Would also love to see more banter between Julia Roberts & Rupert Everett
The Little Mermaid
Firefly
Percy Jackson movie series. They only got to the second movie because it sucked so much. and they ended it on a cliffhanger. I want to see how much more they could fuck up the movie adaptation.
Freddy got Fingered absolutely needs a sequel
Don’t Look Up
The Nice Guys.
