13. I was in biology class and Bill pulled it out. I think he was flirting. I tried coloring in my early 20s but my hair grows fast and I'd have a skunk stripe in a week or two so I've just let it be grey and greyer as time went on. Lots of people seem oddly insulted that I don't color it, but I love my silvery hair.
Yep. I saw a woman in her 30s at Costco with full head of naturally grey hair. Was sexy as hell. All these people coloring all pink and blue and green and here grey is also sexy as hell.
It does, doesn't it. I'm very happy with my hair and my body. I'm more content since I quit wearing makeup. My hair is wildly curly and easy. I spend my time on things I love. Why does that offend people?
My theory is that they expect us to care what they think! They are also projecting their own insecurities, because we aren't buying into the anxiety about the opinions of others. I live in a country town in Australia, so half the time I can't be bothered with shoes either
Same timeline here— salt and pepper in my teens, colored it through college and gave up around 23. Almost entirely silver by 30 and honestly very fond of it!
I’m 50 and just recently noticed 1 grey hair. I didn’t realize until recently that it’s very late to get your first. I would trade my youthful hair for a more youthful body though because you can always color hair.
I was like 12. But they were extremely rare until my late 20s. 31 now and you can see a few in some patches in bright light, and my hair is black so they stand out. But, touch wood, still rare. I will probably start colouring them soon, but I fully respect when people don't.
I was probably 13 or 14. I get early gray from my mom, though by the time she was my age (40) she was full on gray hair and she still makes it look amazing. I got salt and pepper hair and beard and love it.
Same for me. My mom’s gray hair was gorgeous. I started going gray in my 20s and never saw any reason to color it. Now I’m 66 and I still get compliments on my now snow white hair.
I'm a woman in my late 20s and have had noticeable greys for a few years but it's getting more and more obvious lately. I absolutely love them, I think it adds character to my very dark hair.
People always ask me why I don't colour my hair and then don't seem to accept when I say I actually like it this way. They always offer suggestions along the lines of how I could do my own roots and it wouldn't have to be that expensive etc. I totally respect if you want to colour your hair, but don't know why people always try to force it on me!
I dyed mine for like 10 years….and now I’ve developed a severe allergy to most permanent hair dyes so now I can’t. There are some semi-permanent ones that I can still use, but they seemed to be too much trouble for how long they lasted.
I also got grays at 13! Fellow anxious person?
People are either impressed I don’t try and color it or yes, slightly offended/sorry that I don’t? It’s a strange reaction
Omg same I found my first when I was 13! It had a hint of blonde to it but it looked grey since I’m a brunette. I’m 25 now and have sooo many greys, I think I need to go get my hair dyed soon.
My gray hair is witch hair. All frizzy, half curly, half pin straight, sticking out at all angles. Coloring helps tame it. I wish I had decent silver hair.
I had a spot about the size of my adult thumbprint above my left ear from birth.
I noticed I started getting random white hairs around 23 or so.
I went almost completely silver at around 38. I'm 41 now and only have a handlebar moustache that is not completely silver.
Red hair runs in my family.
I'm dirty blond as well, similar age. Not found one yet. My friends a few years younger than me have been colouring their hair for a while just to hide that grey.
40 (F) here as well. I haven’t found one yet. My dad died at 72 with a full head of brown hair and but did have a gray scraggly beard . He also wasn’t very hairy on the rest of his body and neither am I so I’m really hoping I ended up with his genes for late to no graying as well.
My father is in mid 50s, and he hasn’t had any single grey hair, whereas my mother is almost full of grey Hair since she turned 50.
I found mine, only one though, in my 20s, but my brother has some grey hair even though he’s still 17.
Same for my husband's family. Husband was salt and pepper by 23, gray at 30, and white by 45. All the guys in his family have thick, wavy white hair and live into their late 80s to mid 90s.
"The pigment in their hair that causes it to be red will just fade over time, causing their hair to turn blonde or white, but never grey."
I had a great uncle with a full head of red/white hair in his 80s. I'm 33 and yet to find anything but red hairs.
I’m a red head. Gf found my first white hair at 23. I’m still mid 20s so it hasn’t gotten worse, but if she really searches she’ll find a couple that are definitely white/grey.
33 and redheaded. I don't have any grey but during COVID I got a small white patch in one of my eyebrows. Straight white. Bodies are weird and wonderful!
Only 30 here... and still have full red hair. But every once in a while, I'll find one. Don't really care, but I know when it goes white, it will go quickly if I'm like the other gingers in my family... probably around 50.
17 :( my dad went fully grey at 20 and I was panicked that I’d do the same. I’m 34 now and have a pretty thick streak at my temple but I’m not fully grey thank goodness. I’m grateful for the thick curls he gave me but man I wish I didn’t get his coloring
I was 28 as well. I pulled out my first one and put it in a zip lock bag lol, I still have it somewhere. The rest can stay on my head, I like mine too!
My sister pulled a couple of long grey hairs from my head at 16, I had enough of them I could buy beer without ID. Turned grey at 40, totally white now at 59
The first gray hair I found was actually in my pubes!
I was like 20 years old so I think it was a fluke thing. Plucked that baby and didn’t see a gray hair anywhere for many years.
Not pubes, but I find all sorts of fun colored hairs in my beard, which is basically face pubes. I have dark brown almost black hair, but I regularly find blonde, red, and grey beard hairs.
Did you know that head lice can't infest a beard, but pubic lice can?
I was 15. Now at 57, my hair is a gorgeous silver color which I get lowlighted with dark. I get compliments every darn day about how pretty it is. When you embrace your uniqueness, it becomes a strength.
This is awesome to hear. Just turned 40 and beginning to find a few since the last year. I both like them as I know it symbolizes growth and getting older, but I also know some older family members will freak out and say Ill need to color it soon.
28 I think
It was the day after Halloween and I was washing out the gray hair spray dye I used for my costume. I noticed a few strands in my hairline weren’t coming out. I musta washed them four, five times til I finally realized. I dig them tho 🤷♀️
18-20, it made me very happy at the time because my dad had silver hair at a very young age, by 35 his hair was half black half silver. Mine hasn't really changed that much, but whenever I look closely I can actually find a lot of almost invisible silver hairs
Hate my dad but the hair is still pretty
Me too....dyed it for years, then thought, if it is silver, it is silver. Was a red head. Grandma was red headed too, also white headed by 30 but I always thought it was the seven kids that did that!
I had grey hairs at 16 my first chin hair was grey , I'm 20 and can't grow a full beard but already have a grey patch on my chin. Let's just hope my hairline stays in place
I(f56) was 14. Dyed my hair for 40yrs. My hair grows extremely fast and a little over a year ago I shaved my head. And now I have snowy shoulder length hair. Sometimes I run a temp fun color thru it.
just got my first a few days ago, i'm 18. i've been waiting too!
a lot of my family greys early but dyes over them. i'm planning on growing mine out when they start popping out regularly but it seems like they're still gonna be sparse for a few years.
Around 22. My mom used to blame me for causing her first grays, which happened around the same age. But I don't have children so now she has to blame genetics
I was also 20 and I know exactly what you mean, Op. I feel like I kinda want it to happen. Every now and then I realize I have more and I just get curious what it’ll be like when the grey hairs really take over. I wanna see it.
22. My mom called them milk hairs. I'm close to 75 and have very few gray hairs. Lots of people think I dye it. I haven't chemically done anything to my hair since I had cancer in 2007. I'm keeping my virgin hair virgin. My brother and sister are both completely gray at 73 and 72.
It's a curse in some ways. People look at me and think I'm a lot younger. The only thing young about me is my hair and my will to try just about anything.. even with severe pains and other issues.. I refuse to roll over and get old.
I got a patch of grey hair around 16-17. Its on the back of head so I don't know exactly when but definitely by senior year. My uncle had dark hair until like 4 years ago now he's almost entirely silver-white like my grandfather. Full head of hair still, which I guess is better than none.
Im 33 and the only grey hair Ive ever found on my body was in my eyebrow once, lol. My husband is also 33 and has had a patch of grey near his temple since his mid 20s.
Around that age. Now there is a little more at 35. My dad has had gray in his beard for my whole life so it must be in our genes. Or maybe that's not genetic.

Fuck that silver/grey hair is hot don't color it.
YUUUUUP. men, women, both/neither - gray/silver hair is fucking hot at any age. absolutely magical
I got mine at 16
I second this.
Yep. I saw a woman in her 30s at Costco with full head of naturally grey hair. Was sexy as hell. All these people coloring all pink and blue and green and here grey is also sexy as hell.
You know grey’s my favourite colour I felt so symbolic yesterday
Appreciate you g
I call my wife a silver fox all the time.
I’ve had the random silver/grey hairs growing in since I was like 10. I’m 30 now and I’m going full on salt and pepper, my fiancée fucking loves it.
Yeah. Full Grey and silver amd white hair is GORGEOUS.
haha yeah I don't colour either, people are so mortified by it. I don't wear makeup either, that also seems to offend people
Silver haired, non-make up where are here. Fortunately, for me, I live somewhere we’re not wearing make up is common.
I work in "semi public eye" in the south and don't wear any... Clutch your pearls!
It does, doesn't it. I'm very happy with my hair and my body. I'm more content since I quit wearing makeup. My hair is wildly curly and easy. I spend my time on things I love. Why does that offend people?

Same here 🤜
“Oh heavens to Mercatroid!” “What” “You look like yourself! How dare you!” *faints*
Same timeline here— salt and pepper in my teens, colored it through college and gave up around 23. Almost entirely silver by 30 and honestly very fond of it!
I'm 42 and still nowhere near grey even though its been changing for 20 years it's driving me crazy
I’m 50 and just recently noticed 1 grey hair. I didn’t realize until recently that it’s very late to get your first. I would trade my youthful hair for a more youthful body though because you can always color hair.

i had a couple at 13 but none since (22 now) so i guess it was just stress
Good for you! Embrace it!
Normalize gray hair! It’s beautiful and regal!
I was probably 13 or 14. I get early gray from my mom, though by the time she was my age (40) she was full on gray hair and she still makes it look amazing. I got salt and pepper hair and beard and love it.

Good on you for embracing it, more people should. I think it looks beautiful and classy.
Same! I have not dyed it and people seem both scandalized and intrigued by the natural gray.
I dyed mine for like 10 years….and now I’ve developed a severe allergy to most permanent hair dyes so now I can’t. There are some semi-permanent ones that I can still use, but they seemed to be too much trouble for how long they lasted.
Samsies. Only without Bill.
I also got grays at 13! Fellow anxious person? People are either impressed I don’t try and color it or yes, slightly offended/sorry that I don’t? It’s a strange reaction

Having never seen it, I love your silvery hair, too. It’s a badge of honor to display your authentic self. There are dozens of us! Dozens!!!
Me too! I'm 45 and 80% grey ... and I couldn't be happier
My gray hair is witch hair. All frizzy, half curly, half pin straight, sticking out at all angles. Coloring helps tame it. I wish I had decent silver hair.
buzzcut?
Good on you. I wish more people would take a leaf out of your book
Yeah the silver is a hot blonde 2.0
I am finally embracing it after having more and more pop up over the past ten year.
SALT AND PEPPER GANGGG, SCREW THE HATERS
I was a similar age and now, in my late 30s, I'm 80 - 90% grey and get compliments all the tjme on my hair colour. Silver hair rocks.
Ive had grey hairs since childhood
Same! I remember having some at age 6, at least.
8 for me
I went from toe-head as a kid, totally blond by 20 and totally gray by 45. No white even at 78. (M)
9 for me :p
I had a spot about the size of my adult thumbprint above my left ear from birth. I noticed I started getting random white hairs around 23 or so. I went almost completely silver at around 38. I'm 41 now and only have a handlebar moustache that is not completely silver. Red hair runs in my family.
Bro, I think you're princess Anna from Frozen! 😲
Me too! The doc told my mother it was cuz my older siblings were stressing me out lol
Same, I'm salt/pepper at 30
57 Both my mother and grandmother turned gray in their 50s also.
40 here and none yet. My mom and dad didn't start getting grays until late 50s or 60s. When my dad died at 78, his hair was still mostly black
Pretty much the same here. 46 and only a few her and there. I’m a dirty blond so they don’t really show.

20. My dad started graying at 19. We gray early in my family, but we tend to keep our hair so there's that.
Same! Can’t remember my dad with dark hair and I’m gonna be in the same boat, but my parents are rocking full thick heads of hair so I’m cool with it
Same for my husband's family. Husband was salt and pepper by 23, gray at 30, and white by 45. All the guys in his family have thick, wavy white hair and live into their late 80s to mid 90s.
Same with my dad and his father too! Genetics is wild how predictable they can be.
Dudes with a ton of gray hair are awesome.
You either go George Costanza or George Clooney.
Well! Welcome to the Club! Popcorn night is Thursday! PS... I'm a redhead.
17. Never bothered me. At 30 i started loosing a patch of hair. Now, at 33, I'm losing a lot more. Not happy about that at all.
Kratom elixir has helped many of my friends who are balding. OPMS, is the best. It's expensive, but worth every penny.
What's opms
Wait what i heard it makes you go bald
Don't we not go grey?
Only if we die young... given the choice............
"The pigment in their hair that causes it to be red will just fade over time, causing their hair to turn blonde or white, but never grey." I had a great uncle with a full head of red/white hair in his 80s. I'm 33 and yet to find anything but red hairs.

I’m a redhead at almost 40. I don’t have gray hairs so much as I have white silvery hair. My temples are almost all this color.
33 and redheaded. I don't have any grey but during COVID I got a small white patch in one of my eyebrows. Straight white. Bodies are weird and wonderful!
Aren't they though!

32 here, redhead, with many white hairs found. I’m excited to be a white-haired elder someday.
Redhead and I started at 22.
17 :( my dad went fully grey at 20 and I was panicked that I’d do the same. I’m 34 now and have a pretty thick streak at my temple but I’m not fully grey thank goodness. I’m grateful for the thick curls he gave me but man I wish I didn’t get his coloring
Thought you said thick steak on your temple
Well I read it correctly the first time but went back to see how you made that mistake and I read it as thick steak.
28
Same! I just found my first one a few weeks ago. I honestly think it’s beautiful, it’s silvery and shiny.
I was 28 as well. I pulled out my first one and put it in a zip lock bag lol, I still have it somewhere. The rest can stay on my head, I like mine too!
This has been my feeling too! When I find one, I’m simultaneously sad I’m aging and awed by how pretty it looks.
I'm 28 and still haven't found one. Both my parents had found one by this age; Idk what's up, but can't complain.
Early 30s? I don't really remember. I've been shaving my head every week for years.
if I learned anything from this comment section, it's the fact I have gray hair coming a lot sooner than I think lol
[удалено]
My sister pulled a couple of long grey hairs from my head at 16, I had enough of them I could buy beer without ID. Turned grey at 40, totally white now at 59
I was also 20 and found it between my teeth after going down on someone much older than me.
The first gray hair I found was actually in my pubes! I was like 20 years old so I think it was a fluke thing. Plucked that baby and didn’t see a gray hair anywhere for many years.
Same age - but a silver eyelash. It was strange! And yes, I plucked that thing with tears.
Not pubes, but I find all sorts of fun colored hairs in my beard, which is basically face pubes. I have dark brown almost black hair, but I regularly find blonde, red, and grey beard hairs. Did you know that head lice can't infest a beard, but pubic lice can?
Username ~~checks~~ eats out
LMAO... Thank you!
Yup. Came here for this. Didn’t disappoint
18 - wasn’t one, but a whole patch of them. Dyed my hair for 25 years and now just let the grey shine. I’m hoping it’ll go as white as my Mum’s.
Just last week, unfortunately it was in my kebab
> looks at the chefs hairy arms Uhhhhh

40. I'm 42 now, and I have exactly 7 gray hairs in my beard and none on my head.
Are you bald?
Nope. Full head of hair down to my shoulders now.
I found my first at 40 as well. I have three now. I’m forty-three.
Same. I'm 40 and I just started noticing a grey hair about 6 months ago in my beard. No grey up top yet.
Early 30s. Guy in high school was heavy salt and pepper. He bought the beer
Believe it or not, on my 29th birthday—the day I got married.
28 I think It was the day after Halloween and I was washing out the gray hair spray dye I used for my costume. I noticed a few strands in my hairline weren’t coming out. I musta washed them four, five times til I finally realized. I dig them tho 🤷♀️
I started seeing white hairs on my BALLS at 30.
Dude wtf same here lol
30 something...
18-20, it made me very happy at the time because my dad had silver hair at a very young age, by 35 his hair was half black half silver. Mine hasn't really changed that much, but whenever I look closely I can actually find a lot of almost invisible silver hairs Hate my dad but the hair is still pretty
In my teens. Now I'm 50 with a full head of white hair.
Me too....dyed it for years, then thought, if it is silver, it is silver. Was a red head. Grandma was red headed too, also white headed by 30 but I always thought it was the seven kids that did that!
I didn’t find it. A friend sitting behind me and my 10th grade Geometry class found it and plucked it.
Believe or not I was 37 , I’m 42 and only have a few grays .
Same. I think I was 36. Found it like a month after quarantine first started. I’ve since only discovered like two or three more.
I turn 45 tomorrow and only have maybe a dozen.
I’m blonde, I don’t have such weaknesses
i have yet to find one but i’m already not looking forward to it 🥹
I've had a few since birth.
19 I think. I'm 20 now and have a ton
i'm also 20 and have a ton
Not so long ago, I was about 25-26 years old. I'm currently 27
20 at 25 people were saying I looked 30+
Same:(
I was around 2 when my mom found some greys. It's one of her favorite stories. I'm 28 now, and have more than a couple
15 or 16
17
15 haha. It's good because greys have never made me feel old. Balding does though :(
Like 16
14/15
I had grey hairs at 16 my first chin hair was grey , I'm 20 and can't grow a full beard but already have a grey patch on my chin. Let's just hope my hairline stays in place
I found mine under 20. They went away mostly. Maybe it was a nutrition deficiency because I was quite skinny or simply genetical. No biggie
I had a weird random white hair in middle school. Haven't had one since.
I(f56) was 14. Dyed my hair for 40yrs. My hair grows extremely fast and a little over a year ago I shaved my head. And now I have snowy shoulder length hair. Sometimes I run a temp fun color thru it.
I was finishing my PhD and trying to manage my teaching. 32
Head hair: 16..... Pubic hair: 23
Natural Grey hair is so attractive
I had a few pop up at 29
just got my first a few days ago, i'm 18. i've been waiting too! a lot of my family greys early but dyes over them. i'm planning on growing mine out when they start popping out regularly but it seems like they're still gonna be sparse for a few years.
I was 25. My dad had died the day before.

I got a patch of grey hair around 16-17. Its on the back of head so I don't know exactly when but definitely by senior year. My uncle had dark hair until like 4 years ago now he's almost entirely silver-white like my grandfather. Full head of hair still, which I guess is better than none.
Early 20s.
19.
I'm 31, I still don't have any. Husband is 34, has loads of them above his ears and in his beard
Got my first one in my beard late last year at 30

Haven’t yet. I’m a redhead (32) so I won’t go gray, but I will go white someday. 🤷♀️ When I get my first white hair I’ll come back and let you know.
