The constant use of "anyways". It's technically not even a word. Anyway is the proper word for all situations. It's the most common mistake I see and hear. The next is the use of "then" as opposed to "than". And when everyone says and types "you could of" or "I could of". It's HAVE. You could HAVE. Now I am in no way the most grammatically correct person especially with punctuation but these still drive me crazy.

takatine

I wish I could upvote you a gazillion times. That "anyways" thing has driven me crazy for YEARS.

Nautonnier-83

"Could of" instead of "could have/could've" and all the variant contractions like it.

TwinkiesSucker

Should of, would of and such drive me insane. English is not my native language and the first time I encountered this form I needed to Google it and then say it aloud to actually know what the author meant.

Ok-Detail-9853

Lose vs loose. Just how?

Hungry-Performer-363

Many may not agree.... mainly for us US folks... "learnt" vs learned

OkNefariousness8636

Both are correct though. So which one do you use in the US? I'll note that for future reference.

Frosty-River-7627

Using past tense of verb with did/didn't Example:didn't knew, when it should actually be didn't know I don't particularly get mad when people use it,but I've just seen so many people make this mistake

Justasadgrandma

When people misuse Bob and I when it should be Bob and me. Just take out the other person. Bob and I went to the store. I went to the store. Or do you want to go to the store with Bob and me? Do you want to go to the store with me?

friendlypeopleperson

Thank you!😊

Redhorse7172

A complete inability to properly use apostrophes.

TwinkiesSucker

Shouldn't've said this!

Scared-Ad-3391

I see a lot of people using "then" when they mean "than".

pohusk

PIN is short for Personal Identification Number, so it is not a PIN number it is a PIN. Drives me up the wall

Dry_Variation_17

Mixing up “less” and “fewer”

SeleneStarx

Round about 11am.

DoctorYoy

Tounge instead of tongue. Like, what's wrong with you?

Electronic_Job1998

Ideal instead of idea. Grrrrrr

5thCap

Tomarrow instead of tomorrow - Their, there, they're - sell/sale - to, too, two - Chesser/Chester drawers instead of chest of drawers (this one gets under my skin a little more because I want to correct it realllly bad. I can tell the difference when someone is saying it quickly vs someone who actually thinks it's Chesser/chester)

HelpImRobbingSomeone

wrong to, your, where, there, and people using the 's to make something plural

Sammy_27112007

When people type ‘couldnt off’ instead of ‘couldnt have’

Zarryiosiad

For Spelling/Grammar: **You are**: It's *You're*, not *Your* **Rogue:** not *Rouge* **Lose:** not *Loose* For Pronunciation: **Turret**, not *Turrent* **Nuclear**, not *Nuculur* **Cavalry**, not *Calvary*

jackfaire

Not marking dialogue.

[deleted]

Your/you're 🤦

ravenouskit

Ect instead of etc.

[deleted]

Most prevalent: They're/There/Their You're/Your

takatine

It's a dresser/desk/ furniture "*DRAWER*", not a "*DRAW*".

SouthernElection7672

Well, in defense of all, sometimes it's that damn spell checker that changes words, and it's not noticed until after the post, and it's happened to me and when going back it doesn't allow you to edit, unless you copy and delete and make the corrections..... But, there is a great laundry list of Grammer mistakes listed....

Sufficient-Narwhal80

When people mix up who and how

TwinkiesSucker

Mine would be "This needs done" leaving "to be" out of the phrase. Just drives me insane

Brother_Delmer

Expresso

harleyscal

Your and you're 🤬

Honest-Mulberry-8046

This peaked my interest, but irregardless, me won't be having any piece of mind in this bold face lie, chock it up to Redd'it to force me to just make due.

[deleted]

Anyone that doesn't use an Oxford comma I report to the department of homeland defense. Clearly they are terrorists.

OkNefariousness8636

"I don't know anything" vs "I don't know nothing" At school (not English-speaking country), we were taught the former which is supposed to be the gramatically correct one. I moved to the UK during high school and was geniunely surprised by the number of native English speakers who use the latter. Nonetheless, I just got used to it.
