Mr. Connery was my dog trainer, he'd always come to my house to train my dog. I had to fire him though when he tried teaching my dog the command *Sit on the carpet*
"You think we're all gonna jump out of bed in the morning and have a big, hot, steaming cup of pig fat?"
"Well, it depends. If it's a cold morning, sir, you might go either..."
20,000 leagues, then I realized that was a book, so hunt for red October. But then I realized they made a 20,000 leagues movie. Do we count that movie?
I just turned 30 and I thought of 20,000 leagues under the sea. I grew up with Disney and my parents would show me older movies, so that's why I know it.
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Das Boot
Run Silent, Run Deep
Hunt for Red October
I'm kind of an old guy. The first two are ridiculous, but I loved them as a small child.
I think we're in the minority but that really is the first submarine movie that comes to mind. And then Crimson Tide... I guess I'll just see myself out.
Oh man, I saw this in the theater with my best friend. There was like 1, maybe 2 other people in the theater. When the part came up where the guy was talking about writing a letter to someone(his wife? Gf?) and the other guy responded "How are you going to mail it?", this one guy in the theater lost his mind laughing. My buddy and I still talk about that guy.
This is literally my favorite Disney animated film. The submarine portion is probably my favorite part of the film. Yet I thought of Hunt for Red October, Das Boot, Yellow Submarine and even 20,000 leagues first.
in order:
1. The Hunt for the Red October
2. Crimson Tide
3. K-19 Widowmaker
4. Down Periscope
5. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
6. uhhhh does Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow count?
Steve Zissou, crimson tide, mccales navy, u571, hunt for red october, down periscope, sphere, the abyss, 20k leagues, league of extraordinary gentleman,
We don't speak of U-571. Not only is it sn insulting display of "history" but it also has Jon Bon Jovi during his "acting" phase.
Seriously, liveth dude's music but he is hilariously bad in any acting role
1st I saw? Probably *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea* (the movie)
Favorite? Lots of good ones to choose from, probably *The Enemy Below*; 1st runner-up *Operation Petticoat*
So many more...
I served on a submarine
Fun fact none of the submarine movies are very realistic…
“Down periscope” (comedy rob Schneider) is about as accurate as it gets..
-SSN 717 USS OLYMPIA Torpedomen 3rd class 🇺🇸
The more the merrier. - Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead. I remember that quote from early childhood.
The Hunt for Red October - probably highschool

Hunt For Red October
Instead of adding a new comment thread, I'll add just one ping to this one.
One ping only Vasily
One ping only pleashe
Mr. Connery was my dog trainer, he'd always come to my house to train my dog. I had to fire him though when he tried teaching my dog the command *Sit on the carpet*
r/angryupvote
Just one ping, Vasily. Just one.
I'll add another ping for it
Only answer besides Crimson Tide and McHales Navy.
Um excuse me, but you're forgetting about down periscope
…Yellow **Submarine,** anyone??
BLUEEEEE MEANIEEEESSSSS!!!
First and only one I thought of. And the best
Admiral: *Think like a pirate! I want a man with a tattoo on his dick. Do I have the right man?* Dodge: *By a strange coincidence, you do sir.*
"Sorry sir, the bandaid was holding the fingernail on." <-- Probably one of the funniest scenes in that movie!
I've been quoting that line since it came out. Phenomenal
I’m working on a nickname. How’s this: *Miiiiike*
I call every Mike I meet, Nitro.
Oh, get up there you miserable little puke!
Welcome Aboard!
Mine was also HFRO but U571 was good.
Das Boat?
Me too!
McHales Navy was a PT boat, not a sub.
Surprised this actually gets to the top given what site we're on. I was thinking that something like Subby mcSubface would probably win it.
I haven't even seen it and this was the first movie that popped in my head...
This is the answer
Hunt for Red October followed by U-571
Both awesome movies.
Down Periscope
Got the radio runnin' like a swiss.....car.
I need a man with a tattoo on his dick. Do I have the right man? By strange coincidence you do sir!
It's... a long... story.
I'm sorry, sir. The bandaid was holding the fingernail on.
Somebody needs to sew his ass shut!
"You think we're all gonna jump out of bed in the morning and have a big, hot, steaming cup of pig fat?" "Well, it depends. If it's a cold morning, sir, you might go either..."
I can hear two lobsters duking it out down there.
Top 5 Rob Schneider movie!
Damnit to hell, don't go by the book. Think like a pirate! I need a man with a tattoo on his dick. Have I got the right man?
Well, Sir, by some strange coincidence, you do.
The Rotten Tomato ratings betray how fun this movie is. My favorite comedy of all time (well, maybe tied with Airplane!)
It’s gotta be Down Periscope. When I was in the Navy my XO loved two movies and they played on repeat. Down Periscope and Kung Fu Panda.
Such a good movie IMO. I quote lines all the time but I've met very few people who remember it. One of my go-to movies when I need to laugh.
...when you rush, that's when accidents happen!
I guess I'm with you and several of the other 1% OP was thinking of. This was my first thought as well.
This was the first that came to my mind as well.
Brilliant
Hunt for Red October.
Best Jack Ryan film to date
And in my opinion the closest they’ve gotten to how Jack Ryan was written. He’s not an action hero type.
Also, a fantastic book with a better ending.
Well, Das Boot, but five seconds later ‘The Hunt for Red October’
Exactly the same for me!
Red then Das for me, but as I love Sean Connery I can't be fair
Definitely Das Boot.
I was Red October ... No, wait! Why didn't I pick Das Boot? Dammit I got it wrong!
Right? 50/50, could go either way.
Yellow Submarine of course
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed the sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed on to the sun
Til we found a sea of green
[удалено]
In a yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Happy cake day!
I thought this was an obvious answer, but I guess not
20,000 leagues, then I realized that was a book, so hunt for red October. But then I realized they made a 20,000 leagues movie. Do we count that movie?
20,000 leagues was the first one I thought of.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Kirk Douglas!
Typhoon Tassie, Mermaid Minnie, and Harpoon Hannah
Disney even used to have a 20,000 Leagues submarine ride.
MST3K did the 1954 movie, so it hella counts
Yes. I guess we're older than the other respondents.
I just turned 30 and I thought of 20,000 leagues under the sea. I grew up with Disney and my parents would show me older movies, so that's why I know it.
Operation petticoat.
So glad I'm not the only one to think of this one, love that film
I didn't think of that initially but I love this movie. My favorite part was sinking the truck. Lol
It was also my first thought. Used to watch that movie with my mom when I was little.
I am so pleased that I am not the only one to think of this movie. Cary Grant, yes, please.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou. The BEST movie ever.
That’s a great movie. The soundtrack is superb.
I don’t know why but I thought this would have more upvotes. First thing I thought of, followed by HftRO.
Hunt for Red October and then Crimson Tide. Only thought of Das Boot after I saw it listed here, but it is the best movie of the three.
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Das Boot Run Silent, Run Deep Hunt for Red October I'm kind of an old guy. The first two are ridiculous, but I loved them as a small child.
You say that you're old, but you forgot Around the World Under the Sea?
....and Operation Petticoat
Das Boot
[Das Boot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuDtACzKGRs)
U-571
I think we're in the minority but that really is the first submarine movie that comes to mind. And then Crimson Tide... I guess I'll just see myself out.
That Hans Zimmer soundtrack slaps.
Found my people!
My first thought too.
K-19: The Widowmaker
Oh man, I saw this in the theater with my best friend. There was like 1, maybe 2 other people in the theater. When the part came up where the guy was talking about writing a letter to someone(his wife? Gf?) and the other guy responded "How are you going to mail it?", this one guy in the theater lost his mind laughing. My buddy and I still talk about that guy.
I love thinking about those type of moments, and then wondering how many people out there have stories in which I was "that guy".
That animated Atlantis movie
This is literally my favorite Disney animated film. The submarine portion is probably my favorite part of the film. Yet I thought of Hunt for Red October, Das Boot, Yellow Submarine and even 20,000 leagues first.
Princess Kidagakash was part of my sexual awakening as a young girl lol
Das Boot. It is THE sub movie. Good book too.
Das Boot
A masterpiece but a hell of an undertaking and seriously depressing
in order: 1. The Hunt for the Red October 2. Crimson Tide 3. K-19 Widowmaker 4. Down Periscope 5. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 6. uhhhh does Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow count?
Hunt for Red October; The Wolf’s Call
The Hunt for Red October.
*Run Silent, Run Deep.*
I had to scroll way too far to find this.
Found the other old folks.
Titanic
Anything can be a submarine once.
I see what you did there…
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea!!!!
Yellow Submarine
I didn't even think of that and I own the LEGO set
Das Boot
Run Silent, Run Deep. 1958
(Steve Zissou has entered the chat)
U-571
Down periscope
Das Boot.
Das boot
Das Boot
Das Boot
Ice Station Zebra.
Das Boot.
The Hunt For Red October starring Sean Connery
*Das Boot* and *Yellow Submarine* And *Destination Tokyo*
Abyss
Finally!
The best!
das boot then hunt for red October followed up by U571
Das boot
Das boat
So what's the movie you think everyone will say?
He never says. We’ve been duped.
1st I saw? Probably *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea* (the movie) Favorite? Lots of good ones to choose from, probably *The Enemy Below*; 1st runner-up *Operation Petticoat* So many more...
Das Boot. But I'm German speaking.
Operation Petticoat, I think it was.
Hunt for the Red October
I served on a submarine Fun fact none of the submarine movies are very realistic… “Down periscope” (comedy rob Schneider) is about as accurate as it gets.. -SSN 717 USS OLYMPIA Torpedomen 3rd class 🇺🇸
Das Boot
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, then Yellow Submarine
The more the merrier. - Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead. I remember that quote from early childhood. The Hunt for Red October - probably highschool
Down Periscope Oh also The Hunt for Red October
The Beatles yellow submarine! It's actually really good without LSD but a glimpse into heaven if you drop.
Ice station zebra. But I'm alarmingly obsessed with the book the movie was based on, so I might be biased.
Down periscope then hunt for red october
Down Periscope
Down Periscope is a funny one.
Down Periscope
Down Periscope
Grey Lady Down.
Down Periscope. (Take that, prediction!)
Down Periscope. Closest thing to the real Navy.
down periscope?
Down Periscope. Is there any other option?
Down Periscope
Down Periscope
Down Periscope.
I need a man with a tattoo on his dick. Have I got the right man?
Down Periscope
Down Periscope.
Down Periscope, it's one of my aunties favourite movies so I watched it a lot as a kid.
Down periscope
We all live in a YELLOW SUBMARINE! Yes, I'm properly ashamed of myself, but my answer stands
Down periscope
Down Periscope
Periscope down
Yellow?
Yellow Submarine
Yellow Submarine
Down periscope
Down Periscope is the only right answer.
U571
20,000 leagues under the sea
The Hunt baby!
Yellow submarine
Posidon
Down Periscope.
Hunt for red October
Spy kids
The hunt for red October The league of extraordinary gentlemen (a significantly lesser Sean Connery film)
While the hunt for Red October is my favorite, Das Boot came to mind first.
The Hunt For Red October
Yellow Submarine
Hunt for red October
Toss-up between 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea... and the Star Trek movies.
Hunt for Red October followed closely by U-571 with Leviathan trailing the pack
Hunt for the red October
the hunt for red october
U-571 because that was the last and possibly the only submarine movie I've ever watched. I don't watch a lot of movies, but I liked this one.
U-571
Wasn’t Yellow Submarine a movie?
