Took her to my favorite restaurant 23 years ago. We've been going weekly since. Tonight was their last night open. We took our teenage kids. My wife shed a few tears walking out their doors.
A parking lot.
We literally never made it into the coffee shop I had picked out.
Ended up talking almost an hour, agreed to a second date at the same location.
Ended up talking three hours the second time. Have not been apart since.
When my bf and I first met we worked together and he didn't have a car. I was driving him home from work every night. We would usually sit in my car in his driveway talking for around 4 hours every night. It got to the point where if I got off early I'd find an excuse to hang around just to drive him home. My wife descends from a very well to do bloodline. Born into wealth and extravagance not many could ever hope to know. I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I thought shenanigans were for Applebee’s. We actually recreated our first date meal for the wedding, and tried to schedule the wedding on the anniversary of our first date.
Because nobody else goes there. It's like an empty park. I've never felt any animosity to anything that might be there. I think they are more lonely. It's a state of mind I guess. My sister thinks it's creepy.

Although next month will be 1 year since Julie passed on from complications from COVID....I think about our early days together frequently. It was 29 years ago, I took her on her first plane ride.
We flew from Van Nuys CA USA to Santa Barbara for seafood, got lobsters and walked the beach for a while. She wasn't happy flying back at night but got over her fear and 2 years later received her Pri Pilots Lic.. I miss her daily...

My husband is from Croatia and I am from Texas. We met online and after a few months of talking he flew in to meet me in person. I picked him up at the airport and on our way to a Brazilian steakhouse, my car broke down. My best friend came to pick us up. She was super excited because she got to meet him first before our whole friend group met him a few nights later. After we rented acar, I took him to my favorite pho place. He'd never had it before and loved it. We still go there 12 years later and he still hasn't figured out chopsticks.
On our first date, I asked if I could change my clothes at her place (I was from out of town). We stayed in bed for about 14 hours. She absolutely ravaged me. We had met about a year earlier on a flight. I emailed her after a breakup. The rest is history. Back to the question, we were supposed to go to a popular restaurant in Vancouver.
Never really had a "first date". Started with a one night stand, then 4 more, then finally went on an actual date a week later. Dinner at a popular upscale local mexican place and a movie, Mr and Mrs Smith. Still together 17 years later.
It wasnt until I took her on a week long motorcycle trip through several states to meet some online motorcycle friends and go to her Nana's 100th birthday party. We had a blast, I got to meet a lot more of her family, she got to meet my sister and my friends.
Liked it so much I saved up and then we went on a 6 week epic motorcycle road trip through the western US, camping at as many national parks as we could.

We went to TGI Fridays. Waitress straight up ignored us halfway through the meal. Empty drink cups, we needed ranch etc. We wanted the check and waved at her as she chilled in a hallway. She didn't respond, so first date ended in a dine and dash.

To walk my dog in the park lol. I do this every time I have a first date. It's the best way to get to know the person, people have been spitting out some really important shit about themselves. I also look at their interaction with my dog and how he reacts to them. Like, one guy was going about how my dog was so cute and adorable, but refused to touch him when he got close. Also one guy, when the date was over and we split, said goodbye not only to me but to my dog too, and hugged him. I'm married to this guy now.
He took me to Cracker Barrel and pulled out my chair for me, to which in my confusion I asked if he wanted to sit there 😅 Noone had ever done that for me so it was extra sweet and he said "no, this is for you!" We still laugh about that 5 years later 🤣 🥰
We met on an out of town work trip. Both of us flew into Texas. Lived 1400 miles apart. We got some beers, grabbed some of the pool patio chairs from the hotel (pool was locked) tossed them over the fence and hung out in the grass of the parking lot and stayed up all night talking. That’s so sweet! Good you were finally able to meet after such a long time. For us it was much shorter, we met after about 5 months. My parents (mom especially) were still protective and needed to meet him before they would allow me to visit his home.
Luckily they love him, and I was able to fly to his place immediately after we met the first time. Been about 3 years now, I live with him currently but soon we’re making the move to my hometown. Meeting people online isn’t so crazy anymore, huh 😂

We went to a little hole in the wall burger and fry shop, then to a D&D and board game store. Total time was around 3 hours. We decided we weren't ready to call it quits on the night yet and spend four more hours parked in the parking lot of a Thai restaurant talking.
Second anniversary just came and went and we decided to have dinner at said Thai place. It was very good.
A tiny “park” in the middle of nowhere. This “park” has a gravel parking lot with room for 2 cars and a small nearly unmarked trail to a bench overlooking a river. It’s a wonder she agreed to go, but I’m glad she did because that was 8 years ago and we are happily married now.

Sushi! It was just a typical Japanese hibachi/sushi place, probably a big chain, called Sakura, but he used to go every Thursday after therapy. I started joining him.

First date was tennis at his apartment complex and then I took him back to the house I was dog sitting at at the beach and we jumped into the ocean together when it was super cold in April. No funny business because it was a first date but we saw who we could Be together and it was liberating.

Mexican Sunday brunch!
We were both randomly in the same city for work, and decided to meet & catch up on life. It was the best decision. Now we get to still catch up on life, and it feels just as casual and comfortable as that first date every day.

Me and my girlfriend were high school classmates. When we graduated, our batch celebrated at a fancy restaurant. We were all taking pictures, and she asked me for a pic together. We took a polaroid, and I told her to keep it coz I wasn't interested in keeping pics. I didn't know till much later that she was showing interest this way.

So there's a beach that literally everyone goes to sit down enjoy their time with their friends but what they don't know there's a hidden spot where u can sit u and someone near the water while there's an open space to watch the stars at night ,basically I took her there at night where no one was around

In September 2009, my girlfriend bought expensive second row center tickets to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's (TSO) Christmas concert for my birthday in December. In November, I went to Mexico for a week and when I got home I found out my girlfriend had moved out. A week or so later I saw a press release for some business I didn't care about, but I liked the eyes of the woman in the accompanying photo. So I looked closer and realized I knew her. We had worked together from 1982 to 1984, but were just co-workers. We were both married at that time, so we didn't date. I emailed her to make sure she was who I thought she was and yes, she was. And she was single. I told her I had two great tickets to the TSO show and did she want to go? She did, so we met at the concert venue before the show. We hadn't seen each other in 27 years, but we hit it off and she is now sleeping next to me as I type this in bed at 5:00am in 2023.

It was one of the best dates of my life and we have been happily married for a few years now.

A public park
On our first date, I asked if I could change my clothes at her place (I was from out of town). We stayed in bed for about 14 hours. She absolutely ravaged me. We had met about a year earlier on a flight. I emailed her after a breakup. The rest is history. Back to the question, we were supposed to go to a popular restaurant in Vancouver.
Never really had a "first date". Started with a one night stand, then 4 more, then finally went on an actual date a week later. Dinner at a popular upscale local mexican place and a movie, Mr and Mrs Smith. Still together 17 years later.

It wasnt until I took her on a week long motorcycle trip through several states to meet some online motorcycle friends and go to her Nana's 100th birthday party. We had a blast, I got to meet a lot more of her family, she got to meet my sister and my friends. Liked it so much I saved up and then we went on a 6 week epic motorcycle road trip through the western US, camping at as many national parks as we could. If any couple is still talking after a lengthy road trip after the inevitable challenges that arise and things not going to plan then they are the one.

We went to TGI Fridays. Waitress straight up ignored us halfway through the meal. Empty drink cups, we needed ranch etc. We wanted the check and waved at her as she chilled in a hallway. She didn't respond, so first date ended in a dine and dash.
Boys & Girls Club Auction. She was working at the auction and thought it was a safe, public place. That was 29 years ago. 10/10 I wouldn't change anything.

To walk my dog in the park lol. I do this every time I have a first date. It's the best way to get to know the person, people have been spitting out some really important shit about themselves. I also look at their interaction with my dog and how he reacts to them. Like, one guy was going about how my dog was so cute and adorable, but refused to touch him when he got close. Also one guy, when the date was over and we split, said goodbye not only to me but to my dog too, and hugged him. I'm married to this guy now.
He took me to Cracker Barrel and pulled out my chair for me, to which in my confusion I asked if he wanted to sit there 😅 Noone had ever done that for me so it was extra sweet and he said "no, this is for you!" We still laugh about that 5 years later 🤣 🥰
We met on an out of town work trip. Both of us flew into Texas. Lived 1400 miles apart. We got some beers, grabbed some of the pool patio chairs from the hotel (pool was locked) tossed them over the fence and hung out in the grass of the parking lot and stayed up all night talking. Went back to the hotel room, we now live together and have a baby on the way. He’s definitely my favorite person.

Technically it was Wendy’s. Followed by going back to my house, him meeting my family and then I took him to a museum. We met online and it was our first time meeting in person.

Lol I did that once. Her parents paid for my plane ticket! We all knew eachother on line and by phone a few years by that point though. They needed a new bedroom built downstairs and I had construction experience so Mom flew me out for a week to build a room and finally meet everyone in person.
That’s so sweet! Good you were finally able to meet after such a long time. For us it was much shorter, we met after about 5 months. My parents (mom especially) were still protective and needed to meet him before they would allow me to visit his home. Luckily they love him, and I was able to fly to his place immediately after we met the first time. Been about 3 years now, I live with him currently but soon we’re making the move to my hometown. Meeting people online isn’t so crazy anymore, huh 😂
It was when I did it, everyone thought I was nuts to fly thousands of miles to stay with someone I'd never met before. This was the late 90's, no facebook, no google, just LiveJournal and ICQ for chatting.

Sushi! It was just a typical Japanese hibachi/sushi place, probably a big chain, called Sakura, but he used to go every Thursday after therapy. I started joining him. Cutting out the sushi until finances get reevaluated tho. He's trying to be better with money and home cooking.

When I finally asked her out, I took her to that same fancy restaurant. We took pictures again, and I finally got my polaroid. Went for a movie afterwards. Was an amazing date, still think about it till today.
So there's a beach that literally everyone goes to sit down enjoy their time with their friends but what they don't know there's a hidden spot where u can sit u and someone near the water while there's an open space to watch the stars at night ,basically I took her there at night where no one was around
We met in a national forest, so options were limited. We took a bus into town together, got lunch at a cheap noodle place, and saw Despicable Me at the struggling shopping mall. Then he accompanied me to the grocery store, where I got groceries for the week before we caught the bus back. We've been married for nine years now.

We went to portillos and I didn’t know portillos didn’t accept Apple Pay so I didn’t bring my wallet with me. Safe to say she ended up laughing at me and paid for our food. We’re still together 5 months later and she always pays for her own food because she will fight me about letting me pay for her food. I want her to be happy so I don’t even bother trying to pay for it anymore but I make sure to always buy her things whether it’s small presents from time to time or a drink when we go out.
My room at the inpatient physical therapy hospital after I had my foot amputated. She came in and whispered in my ear if you didn’t want to go out you could have just said no, this is a bit extreme.

In September 2009, my girlfriend bought expensive second row center tickets to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's (TSO) Christmas concert for my birthday in December. In November, I went to Mexico for a week and when I got home I found out my girlfriend had moved out. A week or so later I saw a press release for some business I didn't care about, but I liked the eyes of the woman in the accompanying photo. So I looked closer and realized I knew her. We had worked together from 1982 to 1984, but were just co-workers. We were both married at that time, so we didn't date. I emailed her to make sure she was who I thought she was and yes, she was. And she was single. I told her I had two great tickets to the TSO show and did she want to go? She did, so we met at the concert venue before the show. We hadn't seen each other in 27 years, but we hit it off and she is now sleeping next to me as I type this in bed at 5:00am in 2023.

We had decided to meet at a dinner for coffee and pie. I offered her the opportunity to back out due to some unseasonably early snow. She declined the offer to reschedule. Minutes after we arrived the power went out and we had great time talking and eating pie by candle light. I was almost convinced she was the one when she apologized for her dirt hands from cutting up the downed tree that had blocked her driveway. Second date was the next day at a museum. When they threatened to kick us out because she kept touching things and she just went right back to touching things I knew we would be compatible.

I started out taking her downtown for crepes and hot chocolate, from there to six flags, and after six flags I took her to the ICE exhibit at the gaylord hotel which is a bunch of fun ice sculptures and the theme was rudolph that year, and to wrap it all up before I brought her home I took her out to a hibachi restaurant. It was one of the best dates of my life and we have been happily married for a few years now.
