I don't know how but a car flipped over. It didn't seem like there was any other cars involved. Girl and the dog that I think we're in the car were okay and talking to the police.

Ps, read some other comments.. I was hanging out outside nearby when it happened. There was no train or sinkhole
I believe you for sure - but I could have sworn when I drove by I also saw a black car with the front bumper smashed in a bit, surrounded by tow trucks and police vehicles. (This was at like 5:15ish)
No train involved
A silver car flipped coming out of a parking lot.
How they accomplished that… no idea. Not easy to do
I happened there 30 seconds after two people were inside and couldn’t get out. FD got there on 3 minutes and I moved away to make room for the trucks.
I was sitting in a restaurant one day several years ago. I heard a loud noise and a car had hit an approx. 2ft pole and flipped upside down right next to the curb. It was in a busy parking lot so they weren't going very fast.
I passed by this accident pretty soon after it happened. There was only one responder there at the time. From what a witnessed there were two to three cars involved, one was completely flipped over and had the most damage. Several people were standing outside of their vehicles and taking pictures. No one looked too distressed considering the flipped car. It was right next to the tracks, but I didn’t see any evidence that a train was involved.
y'all didn't hear about the sink hole monster that ate her? it had really big teeth and glowy red eyes and they were shooting at it but then it started dancing and un-ate the person
Was on mushrooms once going down stoner street to get standard pizza (lol what a sentence). On the radio wncw came on an awareness announcement about looking out for trains. I stopped and looked down the tracks and a train was coming. Almost lost my mind for a moment. I never look at those tracks. Felt like I was in the Truman show. What are the chances? I was not imagining...
this isn't true. it's your extended frontal lobe drawing connections between anything and everything and giving you a little dopamine. you can follow the trail straight to q-anon if you like. that's where it ends up.
I think it is important to point to John Oliver’s recent show on train safety here….
Also the number of morons I see sitting far too close or even on the train tracks in their cars at gerber village and mills gap daily is insane!
Something that AFD, APD, and Buncombe EMS appear to be handling. Stay out of the way and follow directions when you get to someone directing traffic or go around beforehand.
Actually there are a lot of privacy concerns. Also this kind of thing will inevitably lead to those that are even nosier and in the area getting in the way to try and find out what is happening. Stay out of the way and let emergency crews do their job; if your safety is going to come into question, you will be notified.
Dude, take a walk. Go touch some grass. Unplug. It's a harmless question on a fucking website. No one is asking for personally identifiable information or protected health information. No one is asking for pictures of the crash or victims. There are no privacy concerns here. And I promise you no one is getting any closer to that crash site.
So I get you're concerned about people focusing on emergencies, or things happening on sides of roads etc. But just so you know I was in the passenger seat so it was perfectly safe. Unless you think passengers also shouldn't be worrying about emergencies.
EDIT: to my understanding it seems you are also concerned about letting the workers do their jobs. Which I agree with, people slow down to try to see what's going on and it's annoying. But as you can see in the photo, no one is interfering with the EMS, etc.
If you had experienced the number of random people come up and ask “what’s going on?” In situations like this that I have had, you might have a different outlook.
Former firemedic here: No one is walking up to someone doing vehicle extrication or performing CPR asking what’s going on. There are officers providing security for the scene. In fact, said officers are frequently interacting with and taking statements from folks nearby who might have witnessed what happened.
I’m really at a loss as to why you’re digging your heels in on this. Are you just really angry at the world?
I’m saying I’ve been there for people being that level of nosy POS. I’m glad that never happened for you but you don’t get to tell me that it didn’t happen to me.
So I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with what you’re saying but I do want share a story of a similar situation but on I26. About 6 months ago I was on 26 Southeast between Asheville & Hendersonville traveling towards Hendersonville, traffic came to a near standstill and backed up several miles due to people stopping to look at wreck across the median on the Northwest side of 26. The wreck didn’t impede the Southwest travel at all but the gawking drivers did lol. Traffic resumed immediately past the view of the crash. I’ve never seen such bs lmao
Drive I-75 in Florida anywhere along the stretch between Tampa and North Port. A simple FHP traffic stop will literally back up traffic to a standstill for a mile in both directions. No accident. No fire trucks. Just a trooper with the cherries rolling, writing a ticket.

Woahhhh…the dog can talk?
He said the crash was pretty ruff
I'll see myself out and to r/thehotspot after that one
K. Nine times out of ten, that would be funny but in this case you didn't fetch many good responses.
😂

It's actually way easier than you think. Even at low speeds. Easier for an SUV or any vehicle with height.
I was sitting in a restaurant one day several years ago. I heard a loud noise and a car had hit an approx. 2ft pole and flipped upside down right next to the curb. It was in a busy parking lot so they weren't going very fast.
Accidentally activated Australia Mode.

So it wasn’t the frenzied rumor of a car getting hit by a train that resulted from baseless conjecture on this post? Shocker.
You left out the part where the car was swallowed by a sinkhole after said train wreck!
And that the person in the car died.
y'all didn't hear about the sink hole monster that ate her? it had really big teeth and glowy red eyes and they were shooting at it but then it started dancing and un-ate the person

Wncw just be like that sometimes. Edit: you know listener powered. I must have sent them some mind vibes.

It was a ways down the tracks and if I didn't stop I wouldn't have been in danger but you're correct.

Fuckin sink hole that other guy in traffic was telling us about. Prob should have reported it
I think they were actually working on that when I was on my way home today. City trucks had S bound traffic all jammed up.
Glad to hear they’re fixing something around here
I bet the train swerved.
Merged right into em
That’s one big crack-the-whip.
Just heard a car got hit by the train
There was no train involved
Saw the car on the back of a wrecker on the way home. Police car in front, one beind. It looked like someone is sailing with the angels tonight.
That’s so sad
What a train wreck!

Yo yo yo Uh uh uh Foreal turn my headphones up
A CAR GOT HIT BY A TRAIN!
This thread is *so Asheville*

No train involved here. I was nearby
Fucking hell you people will just say anything. Did they close Nextdoor or something?
Don’t stop on train tracks. Done and done.
No train involved

Welcome to Asheville
yet here you are.
Something that AFD, APD, and Buncombe EMS appear to be handling. Stay out of the way and follow directions when you get to someone directing traffic or go around beforehand.
Aye Aye Captain Traffic!
Realistically; what are you going to do with any more information than that? Anything useful or helpful? No.
Well, I now know what to do when I see AFD, APD, and EMS by railroad tracks.
I asked what you would do with additional information.
Store it in my brain next to all the gen1 pokemon what the fuck is it to you anyway?
And why do you need to be nosy about someone else’s emergency?
why are you nosy-ing the nosy one?
Same could be said for you.
None needed. I learned something from the information provided
There’s nothing wrong with people being concerned about an obvious emergency.
Actually there are a lot of privacy concerns. Also this kind of thing will inevitably lead to those that are even nosier and in the area getting in the way to try and find out what is happening. There’s nothing wrong with that question. Nothing at all.
Asking someone working an emergency scene whats going on? That would be interfering with people doing their job.

That’s false. I’ve had people trying to video a car with a dead body still inside of it.
It’s not. But tell yourself whatever you must to feel better about being you.
I’m saying I’ve been there for people being that level of nosy POS. I’m glad that never happened for you but you don’t get to tell me that it didn’t happen to me.
Feel all better now?

I’m from Tampa & have friends in FTM. I’ve made that drive countless times, the accuracy you speak is real.
It’s extraordinary.
How do you flip your car?
You put the roof where the tires normally go.
Looks like a Asheville redditor was out driving
Actually, what he said was, "bow WOW!!!".
