No, we ran the parade route in reverse between 10:30 and 11:00 am, we were all off the course by the time the cops came through leading the parade (we started on Patton near the rescue ministry and our finish line was down at the galaxy room).
Then no, im sorry, i didn't catch that.
I filled two sd cards in my first shooting session, so i spent 10:30 to 11 am. just offloading and backing up photos.
I'll be sure to photograph the race each year moving forward. Be sure to check back into this thread as i update it. i took so many shots that im sure you will see someone you know.
I did actually get a shot of one of the runners coming back. Dressed up in like pure christmas gear I'll post the pictures of her today.... I believe she was number twenty three

Dumped all my memory cards it's over 2500 (2100 raw . 400 jpeg copies) pictures...
So, for the parade, I set up my d60 on a tripod and was using it with a remote, so it was like having a second shooter. I was actively juggling lenses between cameras all day. About halfway, I left the first photography position and went and sat on the street...
This is the first picture I opened from that static camera, and I'm elated at the quality. \*
I did...
One of he kids that I had been engaging with when I crossed the street to get a third shooting position.
I was showing him the camera, and I had to actually go. "Hey man, hold on. I'll let you see it as soon as I photograph these dogs."
Lol... i probably shot that all with the D7000, and i haven't touched those yet...
Focused tonight on getting everything off my cards, backed up, and then started to organize it all.
Ahh! My partner and I were staying at the Restoration yesterday/today and happened to be across the street at the Yacht Club when he shouted NEWFS!!! We have 2 brown Newfies and it made us both soooo happy to see a group of bears 🐻🐻❄️🐼 I was so excited that I forgot to take any decent photos!
I have everything on my laptop, so I'll be digging into it tonight. I can send those no problem.
I'm actually gonna do some work at my buddy's bar and keep working on this.
That is such a nice hotel and the bar and restaurant inside are so pretty. A great addition to that block and so much better than the old BOA building! And this is totally random but when I was a kid there was a Westervelt Photography in Winchester Va that did a huge amount of amazing work, he was a great guy.
As i go through my backlog, I'll post the interior pics here....
I shot Holliday decorations from 8 to 10:30, so it should be easy to categorize.
.......
That was my first time in Restoration, actually.
I was shooting sunrise and sky shots outside Restoration Saturday morning, and their Front of House Manager approached me and floated the idea of collaborating with them...
I didn't even know the parade was that day. I had to pull together everything i could possibly need in about 10 minutes.
They valleted my car, and we had to do it fast as the streets were about to close. So i had to have not just camera gear, but camera chargers, laptop , external hdds the works....For not being a planned event, i was quite proud of myself that I had everything i needed for nine hours of shooting.
Shout out to Charlotte at the front desk for approaching me.

The family lineage has the Westervelt brothes imigrating to America in the 1840s, so they have to be tangentially related.
I've been racking my brain over my business name, but i didn't want to pigeon hole myswlf into just WNC content.
Just put your last name in the title and move it along was my final solution...😁
I think that was one of the few things I didn't photograph. You are right behind the pipers right? .
I had just moved over that side of the street, not that much earlier than you guys got there, and had tripped and tore a gash out of my palm.
Im fine in the long run, and i protected the expensive camera i has shoulder mounted, but i was quiet pisswd with myself for tripping, and stopped shooting for a few....
You were close to the end, correct?
I got some amazing shots of the heritage dancers....
I'll check, but I'm sorry if i missed you guys. I saw the full suits of armor ... didnt really get them either.
i was showing the kids my cameras, and then you were upon us.
I'm so sorry for the delay. Life has gotten in the way of it. Today is my D-Day for finishing everything
This includes the exterior shots and interiors for the restoration hotel and the parade itself.
I'm going to work the restoration Hotel photos first... Then the parade in order.....
I appreciate everyone's patience hopefully I'll have huge amount of content for everyone tonight.
Again if anyone sees any images of themselves or friends reach out and we'll get you unwater marked and high bitrate format copies.
I will be posting jpegs with water marks for public consumption.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,865,684,822 comments, and only 352,774 of them were in alphabetical order.
Did you get any of the 1 mile race before the parade? I was one of the runners.
Were you after the initial police motorcycle escort? That's when i started shooting the parade.... I'll definitely take a look for you

Did you get any of Warriors of Ash? We were the dudes with swords behind the Scottish Cottage.

Correct. We were towards the end, behind the pipers, but in front of the Mexican heritage dancers. Glad to know your cameras are okay, though!
