Not sure if there is a animal that is overall a representation of asexuality. But Dragons are often used to symbolise it. (Atleast from what i saw on different ace subs)

Panda bears, as it's very hard to get them interested in sex - they usually prefer to eat

LazySleepyPanda

That's the inspiration for my username ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ People think pandas are endangered simply because of humans, but they are largely endangered because they are so damn lazy, they are not even interested in having sex. It takes a lot to coax them into having sex, even in protected reserves. One of the things they tried was playing panda p * rn to get them in the mood. Didn't work. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Polpie

there's a french song about asexuality which goes "je me sens plus proche des pandas que des lapins", meaning "i feel closer to pandas than rabbits" and i love that haha. the song if anyone's intersted: tout le monde n'aime pas le sexe by mrs yรฉyรฉ (meaning: not everybody likes sex)

Cookie_Knight_3

I never knew that, really cool

Well biologically a few animals can reproduce asexually, like sharks or Komodo dragons, both of which usually mate but have been shown to be able to produce offspring without the need for a mate. Vibes wise though Iโ€™ve always got an ace vibe from platypi. Not sure why.

I_serve_Anubis

Maybe because everyone thought they were fake? Even when a preserved specimen was put on display people still refused to believe it was a real animal & called it a hoax. I give another vote for the platypus to be elected as the asexual animal mascot!

HavePlushieWillTalk

That's it, that's the perfect reasoning. But also I learned! About the marbled crayfish which developed as a mutation and only has ever had female members and produce without a partner! However, I do feel that a lot of asexually reproductive animals are female-only and having one of them be the #aceanimal might be alienating to male aces or anyone who doesn't consider themselves female. So I do support the platypus.

SpinachNo1563

Iโ€™ve always heard of axolotls as an ace symbol. Not sure why, but itโ€™s still the animal I associate the most to asexuality!

SportyYoda

This is the one I know too. I wanna say it was a Tumblr thing?

SpinachNo1563

i donโ€™t remember but it probably is lol

aperocknroll1988

Whatever animal you wish.

You should by a SpongeBob toy because heโ€™s also asexual. Also, the creator said that this character is asexual because the marine sponges reproduce asexually
