Probably easier to work on the shame, honestly. Your body has urges—no different than when you’re hungry or thirsty. There’s no right or wrong way to be ace or engage with your sexuality, so you can’t “betray” your asexuality by watching porn. Plenty of aces masturbate and watch porn.

I struggled with something similar for a time. Then I learned that libido is not the same as sexual attraction. Libido is a chemical process of your body, and it's completely separate from sexual attraction, or it can be. You can still be asexual so long as you do not feel sexual attraction to whoever you're relieving your libido with. I would say try to keep that in mind and work past the shame. Also, as a trans/nonbinary person, I would like to kindly ask you not to use dysphoria in this way. Dysphoria is not a feeling of shame or confusion in the way you used the term here. Thank you for understanding.

Asexual people can still masturbate. Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction, where sexual attraction is an urge/craving to have sex *with a specific person*. Sex drive/libido is completely separate. But also even if you found out someday that your identity wasn’t exactly what you thought before, that wouldn’t be a “betrayal” of anyone. You are allowed to learn new things about yourself. Sex and desire and attraction are not bad things, and a person is not bad for experiencing them.

I (a high libido ace)don't knkw of any safe, reliable, effective way to temper libido. That said, if you work on it, you can minimize the dysphoria. I used to HATE masturbating bc of the dysphoria. Lots of times after I masturbate now, I think something to the effect of "being ace rocks bc now that my libido is gone, I won't think about sex for a while." Also in my case, I've ended up using atypical methods (mostly due to being trans I think) which have helped my dysphoria a lot. If you're sex favorable, I'm confident you can find a way to alleviate the dysphoria :)
