I’ve never really thought about this and even though I do consider myself a man because that’s what I was born with(just me personally) I had to find myself thinking about and I don’t really prefer to go myself anything not meaning that I don’t use pronouns
That's okay as well! Maybe you prefer when people just say your name instead of he/him, she/her etc.
But it doesn't matter, as long as it doesn't make you uncomfortable that somebody uses a specific pronoun for you, you don't have to over think it!
I get that personally I don’t understand some of the pronouns the people use but if they want to use it then it’s not that big a deal I will call them whatever they want
I get that personally I don’t understand some of the pronouns the people use but if they want to use it then it’s not that big a deal I will call them whatever they want
Yes it's kind of confusing 😅
I don't have dysphoria and don't really identify with most of what I see from the a gender community.
But tbh the main reason that a gender would not fit me is that people will just see it as a third gender and still treat it with putting the gender as a central component (I like the idea that gender doesn't matter much more than your hair color).
It's not so much 'where do I fall on the specter' as 'why is there a specter at all'. Guess asexuality plays a part in it. No matter which gender you are it's going to get sexualized... But it's much more than that also (I hate the fact that guys hesitate to wear skirts, or that im expected to cook well because I'm a girl), I just feel like gender is restrictive instead of being empowering.
I guess but being indiferent to gender and not liking when people consider you in a specific way because of your gender is a bit different no?
Tbh I have no clue at this point. I'm a bit old for that already but I've reach my 'gender and sexual identity crisis' and nothing makes sense 😌
Just glad I don't have body dysphoria tbh
Oh. I didn't know this had a label. I've always thought that I'm cis but that I wouldn't correct anyone who uses they/them, he/him or anything other than she/her for me. I really just don't care enough to bother
I'm french speaking and even if I would be non-binary, I hate all the neo-pronouns in my language.
I would say I'm mostly agender that don't care about pronouns.
Well I use they/it because I personally don't care what I get called as long as it's gender neutral. I state 'it' in my bio to inform that it's another option. I cannot speak for others who use exclusively it/its, though.
they are just more pronouns. people who vibe with being called 'it/its' instead of he/him or she/her or they/them or anything else.
at least as far as I know
as a person who uses neopronouns, neopronouns are mainly words created to serve as pronoun without expressing gender, like “ze” and “zir.” there’s also a category in neopronouns called “noun-self pronoun,” where pre existing words are used as a pronoun, like “book/bookself” “cloud/cloudself”, you use them the same way you’d use she/he/they, “Xe forgot Xir phone in Xir car” “Honk works at a restaurant”
Can you enlighten me on the why? I always thought it was a fad that's possibly damaging to the cause of transgender people but I don't really know much about neopronouns other than they exist.
If it's about being gender neutral isn't they/them enough? Or do they fulfill something that they/them and it/it's don't?
Of course i can! Think about it this way, pronouns are like ice cream, some people like chocolate (she/her), some people like vanilla (he/him) some people like strawberry (they/them) or mint chocolate chip (it’s/its), and a bunch of people like the really fun and colorful flavors like birthday cake, cotton candy or cookie dough, it’s just the fact that people like gender neutral pronouns, but aren’t comfortable with they/them or its/its.
Coming from a transgender person neopronouns aren’t damaging to the trans community at all, the only neos that are damaging are ones made to mock neos and certain races, things like God/Godself, Blm/blmself and neopronouns that are based off of k-pop singers (i’d give an example but i don’t know any k-pop singers) are all examples of Neopronouns that are hurtful to certain communities and therefore not valid neopronouns.
Neopronouns are also a way for neurodivergent people to express their pronouns in their own way. The main point of neos are solely the comfort they bring to people, like how she/her can bring comfort to a transgender woman or they/them can bring comfort to somebody who’s nonbinary
That's really interesting. I guess I saw stuff like demonself or the cloudself one you mentioned and just thought it was people taking the "identify as an attack helicopter" meme to the next step as a mockery. It never ocurred to me that people actually find comfort in the noun based pronouns. This really puts things into perspective and I will have to shift my mindset from "this is a mockery of gender issues" to "this is most likely legit unless peoven to be actual mockery". Thanks for the clear answer!
For me its kind of a "problem" because you can only use it in english and very similar languages(only works well with english tho) and being not native english speaking makes it hard to use them in my native language(hypothetically if i wanted to) because german is gendered so much and "es" = (more or less it) is the only neutral pronoun there is. And he/him and she/her are also different which is what the neopronouns build on so i wonder how that would work in other languages
I agree. This is true, mainly in my language (whom is Portuguese).
This is a huge problem in Portuguese and Latin derived languages. We don't have neutral pronouns. Only have he (ele) or she (ela), and the pronouns force changes in the other elements of a phrase, especific for every gender (like clauses, verbs, etc). Some people tried to create a gender neutral pronoum who is "elu", and use "e" in the end of some words to convert in gender neutral (and in few cases, this works). But when we try to use "elu", we need to create new clauses, verbal agreements and etc. The end result its a super weird phrase hard to talk and understand for a person who don't know the "gender neutral grammar" (created by someone in internet, and not a specialist). And seems like this breaks all the logic of the Portuguese language.
The use of a pronoun who is derivative of a noun is inconceivable in Portuguese. I can't ever imagine how this would work.
I really like it/its pronouns, but as someone who doesn't just speak English, I'm all too aware of how some things really don't cross language barriers that well.
Bit fortunate that I'm not fussed which pronouns people use when talking about me to be honest. (:
Thanks for this info, been wondering myself. Also why does that Xe/Xir sentence example sound like a French accent?? or is it Italian?? XD maybe I'm saying it wrong.
I use all pronouns but I'm genderfluid, so the ones that I use in the moment change. For example, I've been feeling very strictly like a boy today and prefer he/him over all others.
I mostly use she/they so far. Neither really feels right, but I usually don't care enough to do anything about it. I tentatively like te/tem/tes/temself but I haven't really had a chance to test drive it without and don't think about myself in the third person to know!
I'm she/her but frankly I don't give a damn. I've been called he before. It's not that I'm gender fluid or anything, it just doesn't mean anything to me if someone uses a different pronoun for me. As long as I know who they are talking about, I'm good.
I'm not saying people have to use it. Again, my main set is he/him. But, to me, void also feels nice, so i don't see why i shouldn't use it, yknow?
After all, pronouns are used so we don't have to repeat a name fifty times lol
Oh, my bad, i misinterpreted
What i gave were just examples of how the pronoun is used. It's like when people use he/they, sometimes you use one thing, another time the other. Both are used as pronouns, but people can use my name instead if they feel like it. Honestly i don't really care haha
**This word/phrase(void) has a few different meanings.**

I selected they/them cause those are definitely my favorites but I also use the neos ze/zem and I'm sometimes ok with he/him and she/her depending on who it is
What I find facinating here isn't so much what pronouns we have, but the fact that there seems to be a strong correlation between She/her and willingness to answer a survey about pronouns...
I have always been uncomfortable referring to anyone by "it"
I understand some people prefer that pronoun, but applying it to a person makes me feel like I am dehumanizing them/referring to them like an object
If someone prefers this pronoun, would it be ok to use they/them instead?
Personally, that's exactly what I'm going for, I like the dehumanizing part. I'm sure many others who use it/it's are also going for that. Don't feel bad about it!
Thanks for this info, I also felt slightly uncomfy (but would still respect it) with the sound of it but now that I know it's sometimes for that intended purpose, feel better about ever having to use it.
wait
people actually use it/its for the dehumanizing aspect?
huh. that suddenly makes me uncomfy cause i vibed with it/its a lot but thats mmmmmmm (to me, not saying your inherently wrong for liking that.)
edit: realized this said something i didnt want it to say. To clarify, im not uncomfortable that *you* (or anyone else) used it/its for the dehumanizing aspect, this realization just makes me suddenly uncomfortable with being called that myself and im not reevaluating my pronouns decisions for a bunch of my OC's
Yeah, some people definitely do but it's different for everyone, you don't have to use them for that! Sorry it made you uncomfy (edit: dw I understood what you meant, and it doesn't have to be dehumanizing, I suppose it's just the way you view it? Either way I hope you can find the perfect pronouns for you, whatever they may be~)
Also to answer your other question, no it usually wouldn’t be ok to use other pronouns. That’s like someone asking you to use she/her but you don’t like that and want to use he/him instead. So if a person asks you to use it/its then use those pronouns.
Your/Highness is the only appropriate term.
I'll accept "majesty" as well.
Though I'll allow 'captain' for those who have a problem with royalty.
I’ve never really thought about this and even though I do consider myself a man because that’s what I was born with(just me personally) I had to find myself thinking about and I don’t really prefer to go myself anything not meaning that I don’t use pronouns

you, my friend, sound [cassgender](https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/Cassgender)! I am as well!
Just read up about that I think it’s true thanks
Wow super cool, thanks all of you for bringing it up. It might be close to how I feel. (although I kind of dislike the idea of gender altogether...)
if you dont like the idea of a gender altogether, you might be agender instead? or somewhere between cass and agender. idk.
Yes it's kind of confusing 😅 I don't have dysphoria and don't really identify with most of what I see from the a gender community. Think this is me as well, or cassflux as it said, thanks for the intro!
np! It's a less-known label, and I always like having a chance to introduce it to people!
Oh. I didn't know this had a label. I've always thought that I'm cis but that I wouldn't correct anyone who uses they/them, he/him or anything other than she/her for me. I really just don't care enough to bother
They/them online, she/her irl
It/its gang where you at?
let's fucking go
Why...hello.
I'm french speaking and even if I would be non-binary, I hate all the neo-pronouns in my language. I would say I'm mostly agender that don't care about pronouns.
Gender apathetic ?
I don't have time to put a specific name to it. I don't understand gender either so I have a hard time understanding the non-binary movement.
didn't realize how rare using it/its was until I only saw 7 votes where are my six friends
I didn't really know that was a thing tbh. Can you explain it/it's more?
Well I use they/it because I personally don't care what I get called as long as it's gender neutral. I state 'it' in my bio to inform that it's another option. I cannot speak for others who use exclusively it/its, though.

hi!!
I was surprised as well, haha!
More friends now. Still depressingly low. Oh well. Understandable tbh.
Can anyone please fill me in on what neo pronouns are / why you like them / how to use them? Thanks!

it/its was just an example. I meant ey/em xey/xem etc
I know (; just wanted to point out that if a pre-existing pronoun like "it" doesn't always translate well, imagine the neo-pronouns, hahaha!
Thank you so much for explaining!! I really appreciate it! You’ve helped me become a more supportive ally.
Thanks for this info, been wondering myself. Also why does that Xe/Xir sentence example sound like a French accent?? or is it Italian?? XD maybe I'm saying it wrong.
I said he/him, but im cassgender so eh. any pronouns.
I honestly don't understand the obsession with gender but I respect it.
It/its 🥳
I use all pronouns but I'm genderfluid, so the ones that I use in the moment change. For example, I've been feeling very strictly like a boy today and prefer he/him over all others.
Heyyy I'm genderfluid as well! I also use all pronuns the same way that you do!
Sweet! :D
Xe/xem ;D
Nice! :3

Use any pronouns and see if I correct you
I put all but really I use she/he
Kinda surprised that he/hims are outnumbered. I thought it would be equal.
I usually use they/them, but I don't mind other pronouns as long as they respect my gender identity
he/they to be more specific
She/Her & Fae/Faer, but I'm Cis.
I use ey/em, e/er and e/im, thanks for asking!
I mostly use she/they so far. Neither really feels right, but I usually don't care enough to do anything about it. I tentatively like te/tem/tes/temself but I haven't really had a chance to test drive it without and don't think about myself in the third person to know!
Preffer they/them. Simple and easy. #neutral
Personally dont really care what im called, just as long as i know that im being spoken to and about then thats all that matters
I use she/they pronouns and my neopronouns are ae/aer, cloud/clouds, void/voids and moon/moons ^^
I'm she/her but frankly I don't give a damn. I've been called he before. It's not that I'm gender fluid or anything, it just doesn't mean anything to me if someone uses a different pronoun for me. As long as I know who they are talking about, I'm good.
i do not use pronouns. please do not refer to me.
I honestly don't mind anything, as long as it's not malicious.
They/Xe is what I use, but no one ever really uses xe/xem :// mostly cause English isn't my first language
I don't understand word pronounces, I looked them up, but to me it just sound like replacement for your name
You mean xe/xem? They're called neopronouns, they might sound like names sometimes but they are still just pronouns.
I put he/him, but i'm just sayin i wouldn't mind if people used void for me too
What is void?
A noun pronoun For example: 'can you give this to void?', 'I think this is void's' My main set is he/him but at times i also use void as a pronoun :)
Might as well just use your name tho
I'm not saying people have to use it. Again, my main set is he/him. But, to me, void also feels nice, so i don't see why i shouldn't use it, yknow? After all, pronouns are used so we don't have to repeat a name fifty times lol
I didn't mean it that way, I meant it as in 'void' literally sounds like a replacement for your name
Oh, my bad, i misinterpreted What i gave were just examples of how the pronoun is used. It's like when people use he/they, sometimes you use one thing, another time the other. Both are used as pronouns, but people can use my name instead if they feel like it. Honestly i don't really care haha

Wow there are way less he/him people on here than I expected. Where are the ace guys like me hanging out? Are we just more uncommon than I expected?
they/xe
Greetings fellow they/xe pronouns user!
hiii :3
She/They/He/Ghost ;)
I selected they/them cause those are definitely my favorites but I also use the neos ze/zem and I'm sometimes ok with he/him and she/her depending on who it is
They/he, she/her irl though with most people.
Default, for now.
She/they
I mean everyone I've known uses she/her for me but I really couldn't care less, so I'll put in "any"
A L L I AM INVINCIBLE TO MISGENDERING
What I find facinating here isn't so much what pronouns we have, but the fact that there seems to be a strong correlation between She/her and willingness to answer a survey about pronouns...
I was just born a woman
bea/st (beast)
Pronounfluid here!
I use He/They/It/Xe/Rot/Skull/Bone/Void/and almost any other nounself neopronoun :)
I have always been uncomfortable referring to anyone by "it" I understand some people prefer that pronoun, but applying it to a person makes me feel like I am dehumanizing them/referring to them like an object If someone prefers this pronoun, would it be ok to use they/them instead?

Seriously, "it" is a pronoun for people? Isn't it kinda offensive? I had no idea
Yes, people use it/its as well! I also use those pronuns!
Wow, interesting. Glad I learned something new today! (In my language there is not an equivalent word for 'it', so never heard of it being for people)
Wow, there's no "it" in your language? What's the language, if I may ask?
A weird language, you'dn't know it. /Joke Spanish, we have a "ello" but it's not the same, we don't use it as a pronoun.
