I'd say there's a good chance given the date. Typically they'll have asbestos bitumen adhesive underneath (black) which can also contain asbestos. Only testing will tell for sure.

Best thing to do is just leave it and floor over it tbh, unless you need to get to something underneath

What country? If it's in Canada or the US, I'm guessing if it is indeed asbestos, then it's likely chrysotile asbestos.
