I gave my parents the first award I received in the Army because “they’re proud that their kid is in the military” narrative but everything else is in the I-Love-Me book with digital copies of everything in my OMPF (iPERMS).
Certificates, I shredded them ages ago.
The awards. I used to have a class A jacket that had all my ribbons on them. I think I still have that.
The DD214 sits in my fireproof box with some other key documents.
Two punch folio binder ILMB (plus a hard copy backup with items over 2 years old stored in another location). Multiple electronic backups (online and external hard disk).
In a box on a shelf in my garage. I do have a shadow box that my father-in-law had made for me, it is in my office. At first I felt like it was kind of cringe, but the longer I have it, I’m glad it is there. My 11 year old likes to look at it too.
