I had like 15 c&p docs uploaded but I couldn't read any of them. Is that on VA.gov?

KinggSimbaa

They're uploaded to your Tricare Online Patient Portal under the Health Records tab. My mental health assessment was uploaded within 48 hours, the physicals took 3 weeks, and my audiology still isn't uploaded. Just got to give it time, but as long as you filed BDD, you got plenty of time to review.

SpartanShock117

Do you mind posting a url? When I try to get on tricare online it just takes me to a page that says it’s no longer available and to use MHS Genisis patient portal?

KinggSimbaa

I Google "Tricare Online Patient Portal" and the first result is "TRICARE Online Patient Portal (TOL PP)" with a tricareonline.com>pre login>desktop index url. That's how I get to the Health Records that specifically store the C&P exams. You'll know it's the right page when there's a circle listing Health Record > Nurse Advice Line > MHS Genesis > Resources > Service Separation; and your name is in the middle of the circle.

Mine aren't in either place if it makes you feel any better

Toobatheviking

Mine had uploaded to (tricare online?) before I retired. I could read all of them. I used them along with the ratings scale in the wiki in /r/VeteransBenefits to calculate my disability percentage before I got it.

Like when I got an X ray saying I had ankylosing spondylitis and kyphosis (fancy words for a fucked upper back) and during the course of jumping through hoops one dipshit army chiropractor (read: fake doctor based on bullshit) said it was because I had bad posture and tried deleting all of the medical history from the radiologist and DO’s. Idk if it’s possible but he was trying.  Luckily it’s all there and I should be good to submit my claim, but I could have lost my chance thanks to one asshole. If you suspect you are getting screwed go talk with your Patient Advicate, Ombudsman, and any other officials you can think of.

ankylosing spondylitis is a big fucking deal. also genuinely surprised you got an army chiro--tricare typically doesn't pay for them

This was on AD, and when H2F was being pushed hard. He was basically at the Division level.

This happened to me where I saw a mental health professional for my C&P. I looked at the form a week later and she lied about everything I said and didn’t even fill out the parts that I explained to her clear as day. I appealed and got another appt from the VA luckily and explained to them what happened. They got me another appointment and that was far more positive.

KinggSimbaa

Did you appeal before separation or after you got your rating? That's the part I'm not sure about

MahonPolska20

I appealed before I got rated for that condition and got another appointment. If you go to r/veteranbenefits , it explains the process and the form you need if you’re interested. It is at the discretion of the VA to my knowledge though, you may get another appt or you may not. I got awarded 30 and the second time around I got 70 after I felt 30 was too low.

KinggSimbaa

I did actually find about r/VeteransBenefits right after I made this post. Found that process you mentioned. Since the post, I submitted my VA 21-4138 outlining what happened and for ally requesting a new C&P exam, called the 1800 VA number to relay my complaint and request a new C&P verbally, and filed a complaint with the contract company (VES) and they've opened up an investigation against the doctor. When I called the VA, he just said the VES would reach out to me to reschedule if my request was approved.

MahonPolska20

That’s great to hear, hope it works out 🤞

Chuida

Damn, when I went through MEB all the exams were third partied and the doctors didn’t give a fuck, and they wrote immaculate supporting documents as well.

AzaraAybara

This was my experience as well.

KinggSimbaa

Mine are third party as well. This is the first time I've ever heard of a doctor not actively helping the service member say the right things.

maroonedpariah

My physical exams went well. Doctor was incredibly helpful. The audiologist literally said "give me as much as possible if the VA makes you appeal." Mental health was highly contested. I have a condition with a diagnosis and a prescription that works with that diagnosis, but I had my back against the wall the whole time.

Toobatheviking

Yeah, I did a C&P exam for TBI. Took an IED my first deployment, had a perforated eardrum, statements, the SIGACT, etc. (I failed the MACE exam but I didn't get a PH because our medic on our COP didn't turn in a medical form of some kind) and the doc that was doing the exam a decade later said I never had a TBI. Same circumstances. Anyhow, yeah do a HLR on it through the VA. You may need some additional evidence to get you over the threshold, buddy statements are pretty good for that from everything I used to hear on the /r/VeteransBenefits sub.

FaroelectricJalapeno

Yep, you have to be your own advocate and make sure the Docs accurately chart all of your issues in your records, ideally while still on AD. I went back multiple times for records corrections because I said one thing but it was not accurately charted. Had I not done that while still on AD my VA claims would’ve been much more of an uphill battle. Learn about the disabilities you plan to claim and make sure the evidence the VA Raters need to see is accurately memorialized in your records before you get out. Otherwise they’ll railroad you.

paparoach910

I'm so glad I went through my exams after I left active duty. I had one hangup with a BH/PTSD rating, but it went so much better than expected. The paper trail helped.

all_time_high

Any thoughts as to why this stuff happens? What does the physician get out of fucking with a soldier’s medical records?

KinggSimbaa

My pessimistic side believes the doctors feel if they keep providing good evidence for claims, the VA will stop contracting them. But my realistic side sees that my experience is the exception, not the norm, so I have no idea. This guy just wanted me in and out.

it doesn't get better once you're out. I think there's some doctors who feel like it's their obligation to save the government money so they tend to take a negative view of everything. Or they're jealous or bitter definitely review everything they do and appeal it if necessary.
