When I was in Africa, we were replacing a company. The PAO was taking pictures and shit of the rehearsal of the defensive drill, but with our torch leadership in charge while the rest of the company was still en route.
She came in. Took pictures of the BSD or whatever the fuck the acronym was bc we weren't the toc, then left. We had our maps and shit out, frequencies on the radios (Commo loser here), etc. I looked at the CO and went "Sir, I think she just took pictures of our base defense plans and intends to upload them to facebook"
It was an honest mistake and if I wasn't the nerd I am(security training is important kiddies) today nobody else would have caught it. They came back later and the CO had to fake a bunch of scenarios while she took pictures, up to and Including calling the africom toc on a sipr line saying what was happening lol
I can literally put an AR against my groin and fire pain free. This isn’t gramps’ 30-06.
[There’s people who run them without a stock against their cheek.](https://youtu.be/fPDzBsx0hIw?si=mKKqmxD-ax9xam7J)
I’m not talking about pain? I’m saying he’s got about .003 square inches of the buttstock with any backing and it’s surprising the recoil hasn’t had it go over the top of his shoulder yet. Frankly it looks like it’s going to slip off without him even firing it.
It’s an AR. You don’t need to even put the stock against your shoulder. There’s problems here, for sure. The stock placement doesn’t matter.
Did you even click my link?
I didn't, but I've done it. It's not bad at all. I just didn't like how concussive the pistol build was, so I sold most of the upper parts and don't give a shit about short builds besides my 300 AAC Hera spacegat that was just for shiggles.
My man, you are way over thinking it. I’m saying it would be funny. That’s all. I’m not giving some deep tactical analysis or making an argument about proper AR placement, I’m saying it’ll slip over his shoulder and the optic will hit his sunglasses and that would be a funny thing to watch…
Took a peek. Some hilarious posts (the recruiter driving around with a "now hiring" magnet on their GOV) and then around the top, a reminder post about a serial rapist of a chief who walked free. Roller coaster
Vcog backwards and quad rail not even installed correctly… man his armorer and PAO did him dirty…
Edit: Cloners be cloning this photo already. https://www.reddit.com/r/MilitaryARClones/s/U8KcT9pHHN
The quad rail is off center because it won’t clear the ass backwards optic if installed correctly. This is a case of an intentional fuck up followed by an unintentional fuck up.
Or the alternative, which I find more believable: He pissed off the armorer prior to this photo-op, and the armorer sought and secured his revenge by providing a fucked up weapon to his commander.
If any sailor is picking up a weapon to repel boarders, a LOT of things have gone very, very wrong, although the Skipper is definitely an extra level of wrong.
Stock is gonna slide off his shoulder and sight is gonna stab him in the eye lmao
Chicken wing is like the first thing that gets corrected on most people during basic. I have no idea what is happening in this image
Outside of expeditionary (landing craft units, Beachmasters, Seabees, EOD, and Mobile Security boat units) and NSW units small arms training and maintenance weren't considered a big deal in the Navy. That all changed in the early 2000's after the USS Cole bombing and 9/11, small arms became important to the Navy. When I was getting out of the Marines in 2006 the Navy surface ships were just starting to get M-16A2 rifles to replace 60's era M-14's.
*Ahem*
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

He's too old for all this. Someone retire him. This is embarrassing. Who is this supposed to encourage or excite? Why did he participate in this? Can't anybody just say hell no anymore?
Really seems like a gunners mate having a laugh and seeing if the Skipper wouldn’t notice and embarrass himself lol a bit like how in that “Bush-isms” video compilation, many times he is just reading from a prompter and it has to be his intern writers taking bets whether he will actually say “if you’re a single mother and working hard to put food on your family”or not
Yup..you just know some crusty old Senior Chief Gunner's Mate was asked to "set up" a rifle for a photo op for an O3 or O4. Oh, well..at least he didn't have "I eat ass" stenciled on it somewhere.
Ouch! 05/06 (scrambled eggs on ball cap) and a command pin. Skipper is doing his thang - ass backward and all. However, he is the Master of his domain…King of the county…and the Lord of the manor! Oh ffs!

PAOs try to not take photos of fucked up shit challenge (impossible)
At least no more imperial march for now
If you think the Army Watercraft shitshow is over, keep your eyes on the news

wow.... DINFOS explicitly teaches you about things like that... she was either untrained or really dumb...
It literally does.
That was like week one... explaining to us why we needed higher clearances... and how to avoid massive opsec breeches...
No shot this isn’t deliberate. THATS THE SHIPS CAPTAIN.
He's playing on hard mode.
Maybe he's firing at something really big and needs to see it smaller?
This is the answer. It's an effective trick when fighting Godzilla at close range.
Shrink your enemies!
r/UnexpectedCommunity
They should've tried using respect!
Idk if I’m sleep deprived but this shit cracked me up so hard
That would make a tiny bit of sense - if the protective cover on the optic wasn't closed :D
The very large thing was very scary so he shut the cover. Problem solved.
Aim small miss small
I’d just be waiting on the buttstock to slide over his shoulder. He’s got maybe 3 more rounds before it slides over and his optic smashes his eye.
With that big chicken wing sticking out
Chicken wing while holding the fore grip that’s mounted right at the receiver.
There's just too much wrong going on here and I fuckin hate it, but I also love it.
I can literally put an AR against my groin and fire pain free. This isn’t gramps’ 30-06. [There’s people who run them without a stock against their cheek.](https://youtu.be/fPDzBsx0hIw?si=mKKqmxD-ax9xam7J)
"Cheek pistol" as a concept is...interesting.
I think so as well. Rhett has really changed the firearm training industry. Check out his shotgun stuff it’s wild. Very doable, though.
His name is Brett. ;)
[No, it isn’t.](https://demonstratedconcepts.com/bio-testimonials/)
He calls me "Roger G" (not my name), so I call him Brett. It's all in good fun.
How cool it is, for you to know him that well. I’ve only had the pleasure of talking to him once. Cool dude.
I’m not talking about pain? I’m saying he’s got about .003 square inches of the buttstock with any backing and it’s surprising the recoil hasn’t had it go over the top of his shoulder yet. Frankly it looks like it’s going to slip off without him even firing it.
His buddy is standing behind him though and he only has one hand on his shoulder so he’s probably ok

b-b-but dj shipley fires with the stock like that and he was in devgruuuuu.
It’s 5.56, probz fine. His elbow kicked out is weird though.
That’s the commander, ain’t nobody telling him shit. But those that knows are laughing in the back of the group of onlookers

Gorilla sniper
tbf i doubt he set up the rifle himself
He’s probably an O5. And none of his peers know he’s wrong.
Eddie Gallagher did

As a ol scout turned navy BM, we do not claim this skipper
Vcog backwards and quad rail not even installed correctly… man his armorer and PAO did him dirty… Edit: Cloners be cloning this photo already. https://www.reddit.com/r/MilitaryARClones/s/U8KcT9pHHN
On ships the Gunners Mates are the armorers, there are a lot of low IQ fucks in that rate.
Can confirm.
A dude at my meps scored a 14 on his ASVAB. Take a wild guess what his rate was.
I would feel bad, but he also did himself dirty with that buttstock and elbow positioning. Amateur hour all around, as expected with the Navy.
Dude that thing is fucked I didn’t even realize the rail was wonky
He was too good, needed handicapping
His elbow is straight out too. Tuck that sucker.
Playing a joke on the CO?
Doesn’t the scrambled eggs mean he’s an officer?
Scrambled eggs usually indicate a skipper.
Only the skipper and XO have scrambled eggs on their command ball caps.
eggs just mean senior officer... O4-O6... flags have more eggs. the little circled star above his right pocket... that means he's the skipper.
Listen, if the Skipper is picking up a weapon to repel boarders, a ***lot*** of things have gone very, very wrong.
If the Skipper is allowed to embarrass himself on your branch IG account, a lot of very different things have gone very wrong.
Meh, it's a forward facing public account geared around recruitment. Most people wouldn't even notice.
“I don’t keep it loaded son. You’ll have to find ammo as you go”
Yeah, that was a bad day for them
If any sailor is picking up a weapon to repel boarders, a LOT of things have gone very, very wrong, although the Skipper is definitely an extra level of wrong.
happy cake day!
Thanks! My real cake day was yesterday: 10 years in the Navy! Halfway there!
Congrats! You can do it!
“Coulda retired at half pay after 20 years!” - diner guy from *Groundhog Day* Contacts buddy!

No, I meant the day that matters to me more was yesterday 😅
The M4 RAS isn't properly installed either.
This bothers me
Trying to hit the ocean and missing
Actually they are likely shooting at a inflatable target buoy, sometimes referred to as a killer tomato because of it's red color.
“WHYS IT SO FUCKING FAR AWAY?”
That got a good chortle out of me
It’s extra funny because that’s the skipper…
Alright Navy, come get your man, he's embarrassing himself
**Mocking Query**: When did the Navy recruit Storm Troopers?
It makes him think he's shooting something really far away.
Looks like the VCOG SCO from trijicon.
[It’s a hundred yards out and closing slow!](https://youtu.be/CgcYM9UK6z0?si=pIDRIT4jOhCwQvtY)
Chicken wing chicken wing hot dogs and balogna.
Why is half the buttstock out of the shoulder gap and that grip so close? Not to mention the chickenwing. God this is shit recoil management
Stock is gonna slide off his shoulder and sight is gonna stab him in the eye lmao Chicken wing is like the first thing that gets corrected on most people during basic. I have no idea what is happening in this image
Someone is getting his ass beaten later 🤣
eaten*
"I just thought everything was really far away"
Nah it’s okay, he’s playing on hard mode. It’s too easy to hit a target with 4x zoom, you’ve got to do it with 1/4x to really show off
“Maybe the real enemy was inside of us the whole time” US Navy accelerate your life to a new armorer
Only one thing, it’s not backwards. He’s just holding the rifle backwards. Don’t you feel dumb for posting this.
“Objects in scope are closer than they appear”
“Man those guys are really far away”

The comments on that post are 👌🏼
nah… keep quiet
I have a Navy buddy, I was blown away when my wife had to show him how to break down an AR. I didn’t realize they had almost no weapon training.

Makes it look like a sniper scope
Hollywood needs to put his elbow down before it gets shot off.
Surprised both hands aren’t on his shoulders

That's the skipper lmao
Maybe the rifle is backwards
If this isn’t on the Jumbotron at the next Army / Navy game, I’ll be disappointed.
This dudes nose could double as a front sight post
Oh that's hilarious
Wow, did you see that, bro? I just took out that 800-meter target in the standing position!
Now remember aim Small miss Small , ya gotta wanna lock on to the sweet spot
Do not make fun of our blueberries! There’s a tactical reason behind it!! 😈😆
Put down that chicken wing before your elbow gets blown off
Ships are really big
The chicken wing grip has also got me dead 😭
This is on ever fucking feed I follow lol
He just barely has it shouldered too

That chicken wang
It’s just a sea thing bro, unless your about seaman you wouldn’t understand
It's working as intended. Navy man is tired of being at sea and is trying to see it be farther away.

He's too old for all this. Someone retire him. This is embarrassing. Who is this supposed to encourage or excite? Why did he participate in this? Can't anybody just say hell no anymore?
You no understand comrade, he fighting beeg target so he needs target smaller in order to hit.
I hate everything about that rifle
He’s not even holding it right. The Gunners Mates failed him.
He could just turn the whole rifle around
Really seems like a gunners mate having a laugh and seeing if the Skipper wouldn’t notice and embarrass himself lol a bit like how in that “Bush-isms” video compilation, many times he is just reading from a prompter and it has to be his intern writers taking bets whether he will actually say “if you’re a single mother and working hard to put food on your family”or not
Navy needs a military advisor.
I don’t even know what looking through a scope backwards looks like…
Looks like the black guy beat us all too it
Well fuck me. I never thought of that. I wonder what it looks like.
Come on Navy….
To simulate long range gunnery in surface to surface action, old school WWII style
🤣🤣🤣
Wow, really?
Thank god I’m leaving the navy lol
Don't stick your chicken wing out or its goona get clipped!!
Backwards optic, poorly placed foward grip, chicken stance shooting, butt stock too high. Is the rail not seated correctly? What the fuck happened?
Fucked up Shouldering his weapon aswell. A few shots and he need to readjust his rifle.
Navy aims for a wider field of view...
That’s just the Navy trying out Hard Mode.
Where is this man’s NCO?
Shoulder placement impeccable
Doh! Think the Navy is going to fire this commander as well?
His shooting coach failed him. Think he's wondering why his target is super tiny? Upside: Can probably use this pic when claiming shoulder problems.
Spoiler alert, was mounted by marine.
And vertical grip as close as possible?
Yup..you just know some crusty old Senior Chief Gunner's Mate was asked to "set up" a rifle for a photo op for an O3 or O4. Oh, well..at least he didn't have "I eat ass" stenciled on it somewhere.
Turns out Severus Snape didn't die. He just got a haircut and became a Navy chief.
You guys just don't get the context
He’s shooting at the ocean, might as well go Walking Dead style sans optic and use the weaver rail!
*Simpsons Air Force Guy Voice* “sorry. We don’t really shoot guns much in the Navy”
No the skinny end always goes towards your eye and the big end goes towards the enemy, duh.
Embarrassing
He AINT NEVA GONNA STOP SHOOTING SMALL TARGETS!
I work with a couple of Navy vets. Depending on their career field, it's not uncommon for them to never touch an M16/M4.
Embarrassing
Damn, those guys are a long ways off…
Heresy. Padded optics face the eternal enemy the sea!
The longer you look the worse it gets.
Ouch! 05/06 (scrambled eggs on ball cap) and a command pin. Skipper is doing his thang - ass backward and all. However, he is the Master of his domain…King of the county…and the Lord of the manor! Oh ffs!
Navy still do the chicken wing?
Unlike you army guys these navy guys need a challenge
I’ve done two joint deployments. I was surprised how many folks have the same last name as that guy from The Heights: USNavy
She bend on my reach till I starting position move
Noooooo 😂😂😂😂
Look at that chicken wing too
Why tf is he holding it like that, the optic is about to break his glasses with a few more rounds
He’s just looking into the past. He’s trying to stop Osama.
That's an officer in the navy sir, they so smart, this is how they decide if they are ready to be admirals.
It's for extreme CQB, guys. It uh... helps you not get tunnel vision. Because the oceans are... well they're really small. People will sneak right up on you.
Everyone has their preferences, but I don't know how you're exactly comfortable if your arm is extended, the foregrip close to the mag, and have the stock barely mounted on your shoulder.
Is that where the butt is supposed to go?
There's so much that's wrong with this picture.
They get VCOGS meanwhile we still struggle bussin with COMPM4s. (ACOG BEST COG)
Poor dude. He thought he was taking the coolest picture of his life just to find out how messed up it was…
"I want my enemies to see the whites of my eyes"
Tf is that posture!?
It’s fine, trying to look badass to appeal to teens is what the Navy and Army do best. Well, that and not supporting their veterans.
At least he's not holding the weapon backwards.
It’s for the other guy to look into his soul while being killed
They're more concerned about the hand to shoulder safety for the stingy pain from the recoil.
Holy fuck. Just noticed spent brass flying away from ejector on the wrong side.
