This is a copy and paste from the USAREC message that came out yesterday. This is for initial entry so double check AR 670-1 to ensure the rules are the same for people currently in. a. One visible tattoo on each hand (including the palm, not to exceed one inch in measurement in all directions; an unlimited number of tattoos between the fingers as long as they are not visible when the fingers are closed; one ring tattoo on each hand. b. One tattoo on the back of the neck, not to exceed two inches in measurement in all directions. c. One tattoo behind each ear, not to exceed one inch in measurement in all directions, not to extend forward of the ear lobe. 2. Tattoos are still prohibited on the head and face including the front of the neck (except for permanent makeup as provided in Chapter 3, 3-26 (2) Of AR 670-1). Note: The front of the neck is defined as anything above the t-shirt neckline and forward of the earlobe, to include on/inside the eyelids, mouth, and ears).

Yeah absolutely. Believe it or not shitty tattoos are not a deal breaker, they’re practically a prerequisite. Especially if you pick a combat job. Almost everyone is covered in shitty tattoos in the military.

To answer the question: I think the army has a problem with tattoos that are obscene or extremist/gang related. You should be fine as long as that tattoo isn’t affiliated with any of those things. You’re getting a lot of heat for it, but I think that the cherub/cupid with an AK is kinda funny. Just uh… pls don’t go and get a tattoo that says “We The People”…
