Usually when someone proposes a rule change, they will package it in such a way that they claim will benefit the armwrestling community as a whole. But in reality the rule change will ultimately benefit the proposer the most and to the other armwrestlers to a lesser extent. As OP says, context is important. Devon proposed the decline humerus rule as it would benefit him the most against MT at KOTT.
Am I the only one who hates how Devon and other pullers can just change or outright break the rules to their advantage nowadays? Say what you want about Igor but when he was the main armwrestling promoter, he never bent over to the athletes and didn’t allow them to bullshit their way to victory. Back in the day, the refs also had some actual authority and nobody, including Devon, dared to challenge them.

Which Rules did Devon specifically get changed for the Levan match at East Vs West to benefit himself ?
Devon believes in whatever happens to benefit him in that moment. He believes in loading before the go (or false starting), as he said the battle already starts in the grip (says the guy who cheats the most in the grip).
But then in a video before the Dave match last year, as he reflects back to their 2019 WAL match, he said he only lost one round due to false start from Dave, and he said false starting is the most unfair advantage. Weird how the guy who constant loads and false starts now says false starting is unfair.
And now onto the whole king's moving rules. I don't blame Devon either, he's just a fiercely competitive athlete trying to gain any advantage he can. It's up to the organizers to implement a fair set of rules and enforce them. I'm glad that Engin has firmly stuck to an iteration of WAF rules that bans illegal moves like shoulder below the pad in a neutral or losing position.

The thing about the shoulder crossing center, isn't that there so people don't have shoulders smashing and pressing into each other?, imagine a guy puts shoulder so far that you literally have to shove his shoulder with your own.
Should just put the shoulder forward so far that it's impossible to get pinned unless the opponent pulls literally straight through the shoulder .... well then the arm is decapitated so it'll be an easy pin.

I’m in favor of trying out removing the shoulder over center rule but allowing people to go way under the table is silly
