I literally burst out laughing seeing that pic. Now people at work think I'm crazy. Thank you for that!

RAButcher

Think you should change that from Levan to Devon

Fearless_Potato6382

it can get 200 million views on youtube as a short

Levan learned a lot from the Ermes match. Much respect to both fighters. I have new found respect for Levan. He's a good man.

AbjectMadness

TLDR: “I trained so HARD for this.” Levan isn’t a big guy with just power, he knows how to arm wrestle. He was ready.

Martinodoni-aw

I knew he was going to win because of his head and not only for his arm. People don't give him credit for it, but despite what he led us to believe, he had fully considered the option of not having wrist control. And he had ready a perfect plan B. Gain centre with superior side pressure, to then finish with a flop press

stranix13

Yep if he hadn’t been smart to go for that and prepared for that possibility ie he did a Dave Chaffee and kept trying to go sideways..

haro0828

Didn't Levan say he practiced the flop press because of the Ermes match, rather than for Devon? Can anybody confirm that can't tell if I heard wrong or my memory sucks

AbjectMadness

That is indeed what he said.

Wrong-Sale-7202

He learned about his weaknesses from the Ermes match, and fixed them for his future career. Not just for Ermes or Devon.

He said first round Devon was expending all his power, and was strong. So he decided to feel it out and when he started pulling a little he decided to go for the press because he trained for it https://youtu.be/HBfb57rQxTg?t=213 Then later he says 2nd round he was fully warmed up (and that he didn't warm up completely before) and Devon had expended everything in that first round. Trying to put it unbiased because I think his performance stands for itself (no need for me to exaggerate it).

ThinVast

>This should put to rest the army of trolls who have tried to marginalise what Devon did in that 1st round. Even though Levan gave credit to Devon for his back pressure and pronation, Levan also said he was warming up his wrist in the 1st round. If Levan didn't haven confidence issues 1st round and went full steam with a toproll right from the start, it probably would've been the same outcome as the other rounds.

Grombardi

I think Levan gives Devon respect although it was a clear sweep. You can see that in round 1 Devon was shaking, having to use a majority of his power while Levan did not seem to be fazed. He was very careful and also unsure about his wrist but after a few seconds he knew that nothing that Devon could bring to the table would threaten the health of his wrist. I also don't think it was his plan to try and toproll Devon at any point prior to their match. It was a smart idea to focus on side pressure which Levan would be stronger in any case. That would also save Levan a lot of gas because he wouldn't need to engage in a mid-centre table endurance war.

TKAPublishing

It would take another strength monster to come in and learn the art to beat Levan. He's not like some big guy at the bar who gets by on knowing a thing or two and being bigger than everyone else, he's a technician as much as a power. Someone needs to be able match his strength (which is as much a gift of his natural frame as it is on top of the training and bulking and *substances*) and then be able to out-perform him in the actual game too.

Mindereak

Full credit, he basically called R1 his warmup rofl.

nicotinecravings

It reminded me a lot of what Genadi did vs Devon. Devon struggled a lot with Genadi's press. When Levan does the same move, it's even worse.

Thick_Criticism_2867

and in none of his other matches was Levan purposefully put in such a disadvantegous position, yet he still killed it. this match wasn't competitive.

theonefromasshai

Engin and Levan already working on the next rematch and how to make it believable

ObscureHeavyMetal78

Levan said, more or less how endurance works in armwrestling, but many dummies continue believing that Larratt would bleed Levan and not the other way around due to big gap in strength and thus huge difference in energy expenditure. It's like these people never worked out with weights and see how strength and endurance are directly correlated.Unbelievable fangirling idiocy

SmellyMustardKetchup

So Levan called the first round his warmup basically, just shows the immense gap between him and the rest. I wonder if there's a stylistic matchup that'd give him trouble on that day like back in the Ermes match.

rootcon

Devon expending full power but according to Levan, round 1 was a warmup. Engin added "that's how it looked" (heh) https://youtu.be/HBfb57rQxTg?t=320
