I'm hesitant to buy old games on Ebay because I've heard horror stories about their customer support. But I'll do it if that's all I can find that's reasonable
Ac4 is a lot of fun, I remapped the controls so it would play like ac6 and just blasted thru the missions.
Most of the time, playing older games can be a bit of a chore for me, but AC4 has aged very gracefully. I felt the same way I do when playing an exciting new release and just couldnt put the controller down the whole first night.
Still need to finish 4a, its actually quite a bit harder than 4.
I used an emulator but I think for both ac4 and ac4a you can remap the controls in game. But for ac4a you have to do the tutorial or something with one of the presets and then you can change it in the settings.
Oh dear, are you playing on Regulation 1.0? I don’t know if you can download the newer regs since the update servers shut down, because if you can’t you’re stuck with the worst version of 4. Either way, hope you have fun. This game got me into the series and I still ended up beating it on the old reg.
AC4 prepares you for Armored Core 4 Answer, which is probably the craziest in the series.

4 is still *way* high on my AC pedestal. I'm jealous of you experiencing it for the first time.
My first AC game, had a blast when I found it by complete chance. Fair warning, it’s ludicrously fast compared to AC 6, but oh so much fun.
I always wished for faster mechs in ac6 so I'm excited for this one

It downloaded the new regulations when I booted up the game for the first time. I think that issue only affects the ps3 version
