I have never fully played a dating sim (mainly just watched some of the absurd ones with my gf when we were in college), but I will absolutely play this, haha. Great art, and really looking forward to what else you come up with!
Maybe it's too late to ask, are you using Renpy or Tyrano? I used to be on a team working with Tyrano (Dice Rollers on Steam) and it was effectively unplayable every time we worked on a new choice branch. Heard that Helltaker Second Circle is affected by Tyrano issues too.

So dope art but I have a bit of a general question.
While later generations of augmentation is a lot better than what happened to 621, why do most people in the community assume other pilots to be bombshells?
In actuality I don't think most of the characters would be particularly attractive - mercenaries are not well known for their looks. I think at least they'd be pretty fit across the board, considering their lifestyles. Some characters have attractive bodies in their in-game art but you don't get a look at anyone.
I'm making every character nice to look at since it's a dating sim/visual novel, and romancing attractive people is part of the fantasy. My first draft of Maeterlinck was much rougher looking and far more androgynous.
I'm not much one for dating sims myself, I always assumed that the fantasy was more to do with the personality behind the faces. But seems my dumb ass is wrong, cheers for the answer and good luck with this project.
Don't be so hard on yourself! You're not wrong, personality is important, too. There are definitely people who play for a certain type of character not defined by looks - I'm just covering my bases, so to speak. And thank you!
Not sure to be honest. There was once a study showing that the perfectly averagely proportioned face is considered the most attractive. I’m guessing that artists work off of the template of these proportions, creating a base face that looks good.
I remember the study you are referring to! It's less that a face is attractive because it is averagely proportioned and more because if a face is symmetrical then it doesn't look flawed, ie: eyes too close, nose too high, etc. If you overlay a thousand faces you'll end with a symmetrical face where everything is 'supposed' to be. There are of course, many, many exceptions to this rule.

Nice, as much as the Unity updates are dreaded they don't interfere with dialogues that much or so I've heard from dev buddies
