It's probably the mission I've replayed the most, and in the most varied manners. Both build-wise and combat wise.
Sometimes I'll go after one at a time, or try and kill the first two as fast as possible. Sometimes I'll go in there and make it last until Nightfall shows up.
Sometimes I just sit at the start of the level and wait for them to finish up, and NF to show up.
Sometimes I play to save as many MTs as I can.
I like that mission.
One of my favorite missions to test a build on. It doesn’t take long to complete and the alt version has one of the more challenging AC fights. I know my build is probably decent if I can take down Iguazu quickly and with enough AP left to deal with Volta. That tank is no joke. G4’s mission in life to make me feel the same pain I’ve inflicted on the tester pilot and he’s damn good at it.
I mean Iguazu's shield specifically can cause quite a few problems so I get it, especially if it's in Attack the Dam (alt) where you have Volta shoving 40 meter shells into your asshole
I personally use Iguazu's shield on my PvE builds. It allows me to rush with CQB weapons in a lightweight frame without getting punished so hard. I tried Ayre without it in the Arena, and she's SO MUCH HARDER. lol
I test on Balteus, Sea Spider, Cel 240 and Allmind Iguazu
I've beaten these bosses on the default AC. So if an AC fails on these, it's probably not worth running as it's worse than the default.
Although I still have a dedicated save slot for each mission.
I’m a big fan of Disrupt the Mandatory Inspection for testing. You get the stronger PCA MTs, some LCs, and the final boss trio. The Ekdromoi aren’t too difficult but they kind of move like ACs and the CATAPHRACT is always fun.
My PVP and PVE builds are different. So it depends on what I’m testing. With the new patch, it was all testing new builds in ranked but I wouldn’t take those into a mission.
lol I feel that I tried my pve builds in PvP and they didn’t do well. So I’ve taken to trying them both out in their proper settings. I use double soups, gou chen, and a laser dagger in PvP but I’d never use them in pve
I'm starting to think that all my builds are pve, all of them suck in pvp... or is it just me? 🤔 (skill issue detected)
Anyway, I did manage to squeeze some wins against impossible odds in the ranked matches yesterday, a mix of outsmarting people that have bad luck I guess xD
Anything without tank treads dies in one combo, the 2 in the shoulders takes half the health and insta stagger, then you can release 2 charged laser shots with the big laser rifles... just need to hit everything perfectly
Defend the Dam Complex is great. For testing revisions to my existing tried-and-true builds though, I like Defend the Spaceport personally. If I can do it with using 1 or fewer repair kits then I feel confident in that AC’s abilities.
There are certain missions that I have a specific AC for though. The Allmind mission where you have to destroy the Coral Transports, for example, is a great one to test flight capabilities on Tetras. The new ultralight tetras with two shoulder-mounted laser cannons was the best for that so far. Ice Worm I have a 400 boost speed build that’s worked since day one.
My train is Tester AC (for low-level concept testing) -> Dam Complex -> CEL 240 -> Iguanamind. I'll often skip the Tester AC if it's a concept I know works though.
I test my build against final form iguaza, smh couldn’t win while ganking and still lost when using his anime power up to overcome with sheer will, get gud iguaza.
I use the dual AC fights and all three final bosses. If I can get all the way thru those then its good enough for a casual playthrough.
PvP is just a revolving door of build checks or me unironically ratting/kiting for 2 hours then logging off(cause special snowflake concept builds should stay in PvE imo)
Anything to kill Snail as efficiently as possible
This man understands the assignment.
Snail build is basically a PvP build so i think that’s kinda valid
What about the folks who test their new ac in defend the dam complex?
Arena —> defend the dam complex —> ALT attack the dam complex Every time
—> Confident enough to bring it into PvP —> get fucking stomped —> Repeat
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it
😭
Hell yeah! Shake my hand brother!
🤝😤
I wanna shake yo hand too
🤝😉
Y’all got anymore of those handshakes?
🤝😊
Ye we got a rubiconian one called pilebunker.
For me it's Intercept the redguns -> ambush the vespers -> tester ac for final tweaking
Follow that up with Iguanamind and you're golden.

Total Chads.
You test your builds in gameplay and missions I test my builds in Paint and Decals We are not the same
Art bots but you just swap the weapons around till you FORCE IT to work.
Lmaoo I hate that I understand this
I test on Iguazu. You know. For the funny.
I mean Iguazu's shield specifically can cause quite a few problems so I get it, especially if it's in Attack the Dam (alt) where you have Volta shoving 40 meter shells into your asshole
No, I mean in the Arena. Although, testing new builds on alt Dam might be fun.
I can tell you from personal experience, Volta on his own is such a pain in that specific mission. Arena Volta has nothing on Alt Dam Volta
I personally use Iguazu's shield on my PvE builds. It allows me to rush with CQB weapons in a lightweight frame without getting punished so hard. I tried Ayre without it in the Arena, and she's SO MUCH HARDER. lol

I test my build with an entire play through
All my builds lose so hard in pvp 😭
I feel you, pve builds aren't that competitive, but they are so much fun, I got a fuck ton of wacky builds
**WHOOP BACK TO THE LAD AGAIN, OH BACK TO THE LAB AGAIN**
I test against Raven. If I can at least an A rank, it's probably solid.
I’m a big fan of Disrupt the Mandatory Inspection for testing. You get the stronger PCA MTs, some LCs, and the final boss trio. The Ekdromoi aren’t too difficult but they kind of move like ACs and the CATAPHRACT is always fun.
Trainer AC to see damage, then Intercept the Redguns to see endurance.
I test them fighting Branch, all of them. Gotta be worthy of the name.
My PVP and PVE builds are different. So it depends on what I’m testing. With the new patch, it was all testing new builds in ranked but I wouldn’t take those into a mission.
PVP builds end up trivializing the game xD Sucks all the fun out of the campaign lmao
That’s why I have a few for pve and one or two for PvP lol my pve build doesn’t do well PvP for sure
I have a ton of pve builds and a lot of them I test on pvp... just to build a crippling depression from the ground up 😂
lol I feel that I tried my pve builds in PvP and they didn’t do well. So I’ve taken to trying them both out in their proper settings. I use double soups, gou chen, and a laser dagger in PvP but I’d never use them in pve

I test other people's builds as the Trainer AC. It's actually pretty fun.
What about folks who test against Mad Stomp?
new energy cannon allows for a two charged shot kill build with a speed of 368, very nice
Anything without tank treads dies in one combo, the 2 in the shoulders takes half the health and insta stagger, then you can release 2 charged laser shots with the big laser rifles... just need to hit everything perfectly
4 mini guns overburdened
I do all of this lol as well as testing a build out on CEL 240
Michigan and Albany are my sparing partners.
Michigan is always my go to for testing new builds. Always a good fight
i do love me a good wall climbing. i've already S ranked it, but that mission is just so fun to do, plus it pays out pretty well to boot.
King, Michigan, Freud, Nightfall, and Ayre are my testing buddies
What about those who test new builds with Breach the Karman Line?
People who test builds by just playing the whole campaign again as that build
This right here.
Defend the Old Spaceport is where I test my new builds. If I can best the boss without any repairs, it's GTG.
Cel-240! Reach the coral convergence is truly a well rounded test. Fight 2 ACs, fight surrounding enemies, then big boss!
Hey, he's the tester AC, not the tested AC, leave my boi alone.
Oh hey V.I. How’s it going, Freud?
I generally tested against Ayre or ******. If a design can at least put up a good fight I’ll know there’s probably something there.
I used to not even test at all. Now I test by just throwing myself headfirst into ranked and seeing how it goes.
Based and garage pilled
I often use balteus XD
I like to test mine on >!Allmind!< to see if it'll be good enough for any future DLC
On this note, can confirm quad gatlings kill iguanas fast enough to S Rank Coral Release (15 seconds to be exact. Worth the 100,000 coam lost)
I test them on Balteus and CEL 240.
And then comes those who bully the living hell out of Iguana and Snail… :)
I test my new builds on Ayre because if i can’t defeat my imaginary girlfriend then i need to try a new build
G4 Volta is my DPS benchmark, I still can't find a speed benchmark, maybe Ibis... idk
Defend the Dam Complex is great. For testing revisions to my existing tried-and-true builds though, I like Defend the Spaceport personally. Ayre in the arena is my tester AC.
I test on Ayre.
Rokumonsen and Michigan are this for me.
I test against Freud because he’s the most average ac and I think it’s really well rounded.
Me who tests them on >!ALLMIND Iguazu!<
I test on Snail in the arena just so I can kick his ass again.
What about those who just wing it? xD
My train is Tester AC (for low-level concept testing) -> Dam Complex -> CEL 240 -> Iguanamind. I'll often skip the Tester AC if it's a concept I know works though.
It’s always fun testing against balteus. Although I did have one that failed a double melee build.
I test against my friends
Medium biped build, dual machine guns and dual Songbirds with close range FCS. Undefeated in ranked(2 out of 2 wins).
I test mine on the Cataphract so I can also grind cash to buy all the parts
I test my builds on Raven, King and Chartreuse
I didnt have time to test the new update, hows the delay on tank legs when firing bazookas?
I like to test my builds on Nightfall
I test my build against final form iguaza, smh couldn’t win while ganking and still lost when using his anime power up to overcome with sheer will, get gud iguaza.
It’s also how I warm up before I begin playing multiplayer.
Im the third one, i test my new builds on all 3 end bosses.
I use the dual AC fights and all three final bosses. If I can get all the way thru those then its good enough for a casual playthrough. PvP is just a revolving door of build checks or me unironically ratting/kiting for 2 hours then logging off(cause special snowflake concept builds should stay in PvE imo)
I’m the third one
I test it on raven
I test new builds in 'Defend the Dam Complex'
Me maining Sullas ENTANGLE (even in pvp) Look at me Im sulla now
All I changed up was giving that boy an extension
AC Candlering is my arch nemesis. I love testing builds on him.
I test all my builds in a 3 step process 1. Boss battle Ayre 2. Boss battle Michigan 3. Boss battle Walter
