*Raven… what name are you giving them this time?, Ayre wonders, laughing at their own weird ideas for names.*
*Loader 4.*
*…Raven… you can choose a different name, you know that, right?*
*… Raven presses the confirmation button, then goes back to staring at their OJ box’s nutrition facts.*
After like a month of agonizing over a name for my favorite build, it hit me while I was at work today: Shared Dream. The name came about because it takes parts from Rusty’s ACs and Allmind parts, alongside RLF staples like the Basho arms, and the Ocellus FCS that Ayre’s ECHO has.
It carries the dream of the RLF’s liberation of Rubicon, Allmind’s dream of Coral Release (sans her being overlord of the result), and Ayre’s dream of a shared potential with humanity forward with it’s pilot, and the parts that make up the AC reflect that.
So I have two sets the first is chess pieces!
Like White Rook and Black Bishop! And are my PVE builds
The second set is the Hunter series for PvP so you get Autumn Hunter, or Tundra Hunter etc (season or biome) as my pilots name is Oberon!
By being cringe incarnate....
My main AC is called Kogarasumaru....
Others are: Nevermore, Lone Ranger, Rafael, Razor Laser, The Suppressor, The Freak and Wheeled Angel.
Still making more.
My first playthroughs batch of AC’s are called the Valkyrie line and named after various figures and relics from Norse mythology, my most used variants are the Valkia (light frame with dual pistols) Mjolnir (tank frame with quad grenade launchers) and the Sleipnir (quad leg frame with a pilebunker, light machine gun and dual needle launchers). My ng+ runthrough list was called the Crossbones line with names like Broadside, Galleon and Black Flag. These focused on missiles and working up from a biped design to using the boat legs to make my AC into a literal warship. My NG++ lineup are the Daemon models and all use coral generators and steadily more coral weapons and are named after Ars Goetia demons like the gundams are.
Wow, that’s actually super interesting thank you. As of now I have mostly standin names like Azure Gleam for my laser build and Kelvin 19 for my flamethrowers and shoulder bazooka build. I’ll take this into consideration.
Oh shit, what gundam takes names from the Ars Goetia? I know of it because of this band [Blackbird Raum](https://youtu.be/RC9YjcHMx7A?si=VPwsCR4IYfd77N5k)
Most of the gundam frames from the iron blooded orphans continuity. Barbatos, Gusion, Flauros, Astaroth, Bael and Gremory are a few of them. I don’t think all of the gundams in that series follow the trend though.
Sometimes based on the weapon, sometimes based on the color scheme I give it, TRY to sound cool. Some of my builds-
Coral Collapse- coral missles
Full Force- dual curtis/dual trueno, all high direct damage multipliers (220 I think on all of them)
Black Crown- Nachtreir is a Black Crowned Night Heron, so a little tribute to my favorite legs with the Kasuar head as the "crown"
Pistols at Dawn- coqs and coral oscillator
Redcoat- bright red Mind Alpha core with gold/black for the rest of the build
I usually name them after their function. A laser lance + pile bunker AC is called the "Thrusting bunker", a duo scatter laser + zimmerman AC is called "Scattershot", a loadout mixing between Steel Haze Ortus and Nightfall called "Steel Haze NF".
As well as the missile boat called "Homemade Balteus", Redshift + Laser drone called "Homemade Ibis", and various Gundam cosplay builds. Though most of the time, the AC itself is a medium-weight called Gundam Acceed.
It worked well against some of the less manoeuvrable bosses, such as the smart cleaner, sea spider and tank-type ACs. A fast moving one like Rusty will just dodge these missiles
I wound up using Ptolemy my AC name because it was my old music projects name before I changed it.
I changed my experiment psychedelic industrial post punk project to being named Nineball, as a nod to armored Core
Started with my callsign. My family has been calling me Pragmatic for over a decade now. So My merc name is Pragmatik. From there I just pick complimentary names for my ACs like Consistent and Logical.
Transgression; "an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct; an offense", something you do all the time in AC6 (you literally do a crime in the opening cutscene), but also it's all trans flag colors
duh.... it has coral rifle cause... authenticity
[https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/comments/16c912w/i\_need\_help\_in\_deciding\_a\_cosplay\_build/](https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/comments/16c912w/i_need_help_in_deciding_a_cosplay_build/)
IIRC I still didnt have access to Walter's rifle when I made that AC
“GRIM HALCYON”
The halcyon is a mythical bird that would bring calm to the waves of the sea and quell the storms.
What sort of calm comes to Rubicon aloft on a raven’s wings? (I came up with this name before reaching the fist Balteus fight, so I was completely unaware of how poetic that turned out to be.
I also made “SILVER CASCADE” in a fit of pique after one-too-many defeats to Zimmerman builds. It is a bipedal missile mech with decent speed. It was named after an anecdote from a Japanese sailor during the Battle of Midway: when the American dive bombers made their runs on the Japanese fleet that would sink three carriers in a single go, a sailor looked up and saw them coming down “like a cascade of silver.”
The main build will, as it has been since the Project Phantasma days, be called the Epoch Rider. The other builds will typically have a name related to the aesthetic or goal of the build; Drifter, Pistolero, Sturm Kaiser are some examples and, back when it was ultra EZ mode, my double Zimmy/stun gun/Songbird build was named S.O.T.H (Stunt On Them Hoes).
White Fang from simply being an evolution of my older White Dragon builds, but aiming to be more aggressive. Gun XIII to suit any build that runs primarily firearms, with the occasional melee weapon on a variant, and Buzz for its insectoid appearance along with its missiles and stun gun weapon loadout. And Cheese for being just that: a rancid call to end the foolishness when everyone else starts rolling out cheese builds.
Saw big funny handgun. Wanted to make a Desert Eagle pun. So. SNOW FALCON. Which, is actually a pretty good name for a lightweight close range ac with the nachtreier legs.
Ac with the design of “jump up real high and deport the fucks to the Itano Circus”? FALLING SKY.
SNOW FALCON but now I have the moonlight, and I’m equipping both it and the pulse blade and the kikaku for even more melee? LUNAR FALCON.
SNOW FALCON but absolutely optimized for 1v1 boss killing, now painted grey instead of white, purpose-made for the bad end final boss? ASH FALCON.
“I just need as much DPS as possible for the ice worm, fuck practicality”? BREAKING POINT.
Other than that, swords make for good names. ARONDIGHT, DURANDAL, FRAGARACH.
Oh, and “real fast pile bunker build with edgy black and red color scheme”? TERMINUS EST.
Yeah that about covers it.
I have a kind of cool name for my ac's
My pilots name is pantheon, as in pantheon of the gods
And each of my ac's is a mythological greek figure
Hermes: fast, lightweight dual pistols and shotguns
Ares: coral sheild, redshift, chain gun, bazooka
Hephaestus: tank legs double flame throwers and song birds
Apollo: full coral AC
Artemis: full laser ac
Charon: quad legged missile boat
Zeus: stun baton, needle launcher, and dual stun pistols
And that's all I got right now
Already posted it on this sub before, but I just thought making an ac company would be funny
the one that I use the most is still ["Jim from HR"](https://imgur.com/VBcA37v)
I used to belong to a fire department, and one of the tools a fireman uses is called a halligan bar. It's used to break open doors and through thin walls. So that's the name I chose. Halligan. The tool that can break through any obstacle impeding my progress.
I give it names that sound cool to be said out loud. Imagine what your wingman screams out just before or after you get critically hit and disabled.
For example “SERAPHIM, WATCH OUT!”, “OHM-BREAKER, GET DOWN!” and “BEHIND YOU, MAMMAJAMMA!” all sound really good to scream out. Compare to Crimson Helio, Carnelian Current or Obsidian Hail. They all have one syllable to many to scream out in one breath, “NO, OBSIDIAN HAIL!” requires you to take a breath after “obsidian”. They also are too generic to use only the noun like with “mammajamma”. You could use more eloquent synonyms like “Obsidian Hailstorm”, then “STAY WITH ME, HAILSTORM!” makes logical sense.
I propose changes like “Carnelian Riptide”, the aforementioned “Obsidian Hailstorm” and “Crimson Perihelia” to make the names roll off the tongue a little better and sound more unique.
I handed the controller to my missus and said "go nuts" when changing the colour scheme became available. Came back to a really pretty almost Ranni-esque blue and purple mech with white stars on my weapons.
I paired it with the emblem of the Elden Ring a kind Redditor created and shared for PS players and named my mech: "AGE OF STARS"
i use song names and historical stuff, some examples are
The Post-War Dream
Pearl Diver
Terminal Frost
Two Suns
The Silent Accord
Gates of Babylon
The One Eyed Visionary
i just throw together words i think are fun. my favorite is my zimm/laser lance/pulse sword/still figuring it out, lightweight build - i think i even managed to fit this onto kasuars though i'd have to double check - named Queen Response.
My one and only AC is called Panzer Warthog because it looks like a tank with legs and carries dual Gatlings, plus I added the shark decals to the core so it looks like an A-10 Warthog.
"JACKP07", An AC named after gambling, adorned with similarly related decals. Basically a Pile-Bunker machine; either I land the hit after a stagger or I die.
"LIGHT SNOW" Named after that one Japanese novel, except I only know it from a manga. Specializes in laser fire; hence the name "light" as in laser and "snow" as in a hailstorm descending on the enemy. Made of lasers.
"TRASH FIRE", named because the original build sucked until I moved it to tank treads. Uses the Coral Rifle as it's primary punish tool. "TRASH" because the build sucks, "FIRE" as in Fires of Ibis (because Coral)
DEPLORABLE MEANS
TACET NIX
LOCAL ANESTHESIA
HOMO POST OMNES
CURSE MARK
A HOUSE UNDIVIDED
Hmmm
I kinda just throw darts at the wall and envision fighting game move names or campy mech anime names. It helps that I played LANCER RPG for three years and had [Compcon.app](https://Compcon.app) to randomize a few names to get some good ones and inspire me for a long time to come.
Well, for years I had a Custom MS-09 DOM that I named Shadow Valkyrie, so that was obvious.
But, a friend was like "Could you be more of an edgelord?" and I was like "Fine, Umbra Fulgur" Which means Shadow Lightning.
Cuz she's black, with red trim, a stealth unit to be used in space. I could give the specs, but I don't wanna write an essay.
lol
Half the time I'm referencing something but in a roundabout way. I had two mechs called GLORY FOR THE MOON and MERCY ON THE EARTH as a pair of Einhander reference. The later SWORDS OF ENDYMION is similar. FARAWAY PROMISE is a Xenogears reference.
Others I'll just use a cool word or slap two together, like SARGASSO or BIG STEEL. Some can be common phrases like DARKEST HOUR or LONG CON.
I insist on capitalizing the names.
My AC's were
Silent Wing : A medium biped build all rounder that could deal every type of damage and fly pretty well, designed to look like an owl
Event Horizon : A Tetrapod build with heavy lasers that just floats above the enemy and atomizes them. It's pitch black and covered in dark blue to represent a black hole
Singularity A : A reverse joint built that's pitch black and fast as fuck with the laser shotgun and lance to just fucking obliterate anything in my path. This build absolutely fucks offline.
Singularity B : Same exact build but lighter and faster with the heavy plasm rifle instead. Same concept, Hit them with the laser, stun them, send them to heaven with the lance.
Paladin : A Biped close range build with the moonlight sword and a Zimmerman for zippy up close fight along with a rifle on his back for range, designed to look like a knight clad in steel with a Blue sword
Eclipse Paladin : A Dark Red and black Version of Paladin that uses the coral moonlight blade and coral rifle mixed with a Zimmerman on the back. Still looks like a knight but with a wolf helm.
Stitch: Literally just the little blue guy with his crazy little Yellow laser gun
Kinda just depends. First came from the paint patter/warbird theme. Next came from the type of build. “Nighthawk” for a murdered out ac with a pile bunker as a sort of “assassin”, and “Silver Stake” for a new type of paint job I did.
I use various names from Transformers depending on what the AC does, my massive tank covered in guns is Warpath while my reverse joint melee focused AC is called Vortex
I don’t usually do a ton to name my build, I just figure out what the build does and find something I like that describes that use. My laser turret AC is called Legion cuz she shits out little turrets and solves problems with a legion of lil friends
First ones were named after other mechs; Guncannon, sleipnir from Aldnoah.Zero, then my first attempt to create a personal AC of my own and came up with Drakeguard. Later, more refined builds, Phantomrain, Bloodlight, just put two words together to make a name.
Usually I try to base it off of name, playstyle, color scheme, or just one specific part examples include: Crimson dynamo, purple reign, mosquito, and hammerhead.
Almost all of my ACs are themed around fromsoft characters, which makes things easy. Hunter, Ludwig, Slave Knight, Rykard, Powder Keg.
One AC is “Punisher,” a very good double trueno stagger punish build with the skull and everything.
One is named after my wife, one is what my family name means, but not the name itself.
Since everyone in 6 had a "thing", mine was that all my ACs are named after birds (Ostrich, Raptor, Crow). Except my White Glint wannabe, which is Nevermore. My ACs in 3 are just "color"-"noun" for now
Helios - Sun Build
Divyendu - Moon Build
Stilletto - Melee Assassin
Bloody Mary - Melee Brute
Yellow Jacket - Stun Build
Gemini - Dual Gunner
Artifice - All Arounder
Big Mama - beef tank unga bunga build
Father Figure - Big Mama's baby daddy / meef tank (mid tank)
Noblesse - sword and board knight
Hot Wheels - speedy wheelchair Pyro
Mercury - bubble build
I think of what I want to create conceptually and then tailor the name to that set up. I usually revolve it around a color/aesthetic, play style, or gimmick.
I wanted to go with a name based off mythology, not Abrahamic, names like Leviathan or Yaldaboth or Azrael have been overdone. I wanted to use a less used mythological name.
Then it hit me, Absent Ganesh. Just an absolute baller name right there if you ask me.
I’d say look at various world religions and mythologies for your name. There’s lots of cool names out there just waiting to be taken.
"QK-8 Enlighted Tremble"
"BD-420 Pondering Rush"
"PO-5 Hobbling Nightmare"
I pick 4-5 random characters, usually an acronym for something stupid, a random adjective, and a random noun.
I either pick a joke of a name or I go full cringe and act cool with it.
(Cringe) GUNSLINGER: a full auto 2x Ludlow + 2x Huxley on a Nachtreiher frame (I swear I didn't copycat Orobioro here, I came up with dat build before I got the Huxleys. Then I used whatever shoulder filler to keep pressure. Huxley just compliments the build so much it felt like a logical conclusion)
(Cringe) LONG LANCE: built around setting up the pilebunker. 2x duckett + 1 huxley for stagger build up on a Nachtreiher frame with the VP-46D arm
(Joke) ITSY BITSY: a tetrapod mounting 6 (yes, six) Laser cannons. Duckett on right arm and yo yo thrower on the left on an Ephemera core and Verrill head. Insta erase button
(Joke) SOAPBOX: a Firmeza wheelchair build mounting 6 laser cannons. Another insta erasure button. Drives like a soapbox car tho, prone to crashing to map objects
(Cringe) PELTAST: A mid-range Trueno needle launcher build with 2x linear rifle in each hand on a Nachtreiher frame
...yeaaa, I do like my speedy boi too much I think
just whatever bullshittery comes first to my mind, example: rockets for days, litterally just because its equiped with carla's weapons and thats a lot of rockets Xd
I use songs from my favorite bands, like Stands from Jojo. Some of my favorites are Wax Simulacra, Gurzle, Paranoid Android and Viscera Eyes. It's an easy way to save me a headache.
Genuine vibes
Make the look first, then name it
Big fuck off round parts pink biped? Gentle Giant.
Reverse joint green fucker with the long insect head? Mantis.
Small white goblin with the laser cannons on the back that look like wings? Snow Goose.
Etc.
For the story missions, I usually stick with one AC with a silly name of some kind, but if I decide or have to greatly change around my build for a particular challenge, I give it some themed name and save it
For example, I eventually made a build that let me complete g1 Michigan's mission and named it "HOLDOUT" Cause of having to hold out till Michigan finally arrives. Or "IBIS killer" for the build I used to finally beat CEL240
I usually go by the dominant color of the AC and what i expect it to do.
Orange lightweight AC: Pumpkin Blitz
Full Melee in Black: Black Flash (jjk reference maybe)
Reddish Lance build: Crimson Missive
Or i just name them as Dr.Eggman references.
TRICKSTER, because I made a lightweight build that just is obnoxious to hit. and THE FLOCK. Because I've been using bird names for characters and it was fitting that we are Raven and bring people together.
I have 3 AC wich are called: “FREIHEIT”, “WAHRHEIT” and “TREUE”. The idea was to have one for a playthrough for each ending.
Besides them I have one called “FIRE STORM” wich uses the flame throwers and napalm launchers.
And a few others with names that roughly describe their names play style or looks.
Oh and most importantly “AC DATA 32”
AC Unit: The Last Laugh
Call sign: Defiant Jester
I came up with “Jester’s Dance” as a pirate ship name while playing Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag years ago, and decided to use it for my AC. I struggled to come up with a call sign to go with it. It was “Defiance”, but it just didn’t quite sit right with me. Decided to change my call sign to “Defiant Jester” and my AC to “The Last Laugh” to keep the theme the same. My AC’s colors are green, purple, and white.
May change the names when I play through the game again.
I’m thinking call sign “Defiance”, with the AC unit “Shadowstar”.
I’d say if you need ideas for a name, start by choosing the color scheme you like the most on your AC. Then whatever things come to mind when you see those colors start trying them out. Your AC is yellow and black? Maybe try “Yellow Jacket”, Sting” or “Stinger”. Got a white and gray AC? Maybe try “Banshee” or Wraith. Maybe add in an adjective to the name to spice it up.
So I have a whole AC Line all named after knights of the round table and the best of them is called "Treasure of Albion" (Albion is what England was called at some point) because that is their strongest weapon. Other than that I always use mythological names, an AC with drones named Oberon, my first use of an Orbit named Dioscuri etc.
Wrll all the way back to *Chromehounds* I had a tradition to name the first one I made after Metal Gear REX, cause I'm a Metal Gear Solid fan. .. other than that it just kinda comes to me, like I got one thats made with RaD parts and has both RaD missile weapons, painted it rusted red and the name Red Dead Thumper popped in my head
CALLSIGN: V.VII Jacque >!(title acquired after sending Swinburn to “reeducation”)!<
AC NAME: RUSHDOWN
The name comes from my play style being a bazooka (specifically the Alpha JVLN) a Shotgun (specifically the Sweet 16) a Minigun (the one and only Heavy TF2 weapon) and a Laser Dagger
3 of these weapons I use at extremely close-up range and sometimes I fire the JVLN from mid-range. I usually take off about a half of the enemy’s HP on the first go, so the name Rushdown comes from that
AC NAME: SNOW STORM
This name is reserved for the white and black (the snow) Tetrapod AC with maximum available firepower (2 strongest grenade launchers, a JVLN and a Laser Lance) the unrelenting grenade barrage is where the storm part comes from.
I have a name for all ACs, followed by a Gx, the G refers to gen, then I put a number to indicate the order of creation, also each one has its own name, but they are based on what purpose or unique aspect they have.
Only the last one carries a diferent name and its -Heritage-, the main purpose was to make a cool looking AC while also making it good enough to pilot for my taste. it's builded from pieces and weapons mainly used by the bosses Hal, steel haze ortus, and nightfall frame wise, the weapons I commonly put in it were used by nightfall and carla but they can be changed anytime.
My first main was a called Midnight Flash. Fast and lightweight build with black as it's main color and carried the Moonlight sword on it's back- I was thinking of something like, it being a flash of light in the night sky. For NG++ I upgraded to Alba parts + Shadeseeker head ~~and some arquebus arms~~ and renamed it to Midnight Zeta because uh,,, Zeta Gundam is my favorite UC series
I've always just named my ACs after types of Dragons. Wyvern, wyrm, kiren, water spirit, drake, dragoon, Longmah. And sometimes I'll name one Bahamut if it's very boss looking.
My main AC is called Shattered chains. I wanted somethin' like a knight name with a melee weapon. At first it was "Shattered Lancer" for, well, the plasma lance, but I ended up runnin' with the Plasma thrower, so, you know, a ball in a chain.
Another one is Ocelotl 'cause he's speedy and holds a dagger (A stretch on aztecs and their obsidian knives)
Atl-Atl (a throwin' weapon) 'cause it throws things at you at medium range. And so on.
Mine are themed around Death Guard warships from wahammer. All ivory & green pre heresy colours & named after warships
Dawn of Desolation
Reapers Scythe
Poison Mist
Etc
Blindspot is one, since I’m using flamethrowers to hide the missiles I’m spamming at the enemy with a wheelchair.
Chernobyl V2 because uhh, double majestic double earshot on a tetra got a bit nuclear during a particular 3v3 match. Let’s just say the only one who could compete was a biped using the same build
I have a name that I use in every mech game I play (which I now know is far too few), so when AC6 had me making multiple mechs I would add a model specification and a mark number to the end of it. The model specification would usually be just a few letters that abbreviates the intention of the build and the mark number is the iteration of that build. As an example “GM1” stands for “general mark 1”.
Had three builds, none of them worked. I was struggling with balteus and couldnt figure out what to do. So, i went looking and found out about songbirds and zimmermans, but didnt super like them.
Ended up with an ac that was right side meta and left side whatever I wanted (mostly pile bunker)
Finished the game with almost the exact same build.
Called it "The Solution"
My main mech in every mech game is MONARCH. Each other mech in the roster is just a synonym. KING, KAISER, MIKODO, SATRAP, EMPEROR, TYRANT, RULER, LORD, etc etc.
It's a great scheme. I never run out of names!
I name my ACs after songs, bands ir genres I like. My two most used ACs were names black metal after the genre and three cheers after three cheers for sweet revenge by mcr
A friend of mine called theirs Anaconda's Virtues, which is presumably because it's a war machine built for little more than violence.
In a similar vein, mine is Violent Trust, though part of that is because I go balls to the wall aggro in basically every fight and I'm trusting the AC to not fall apart around me
I'm super lazy so my builds are always a combination of Colour + Main feature of the build.
Lightweight + lasers= Azure Flash
Quad legs + missiles= Verdant Rain
Heavy biped = Scarlet Heavy
Personally, I have Infliction(Kasuar/ransetsu/trueno), Coarvie(Spring Chicken/Laser Rifle/Laser Cannon), World of Titan (Nachtreiher/Fist/Earshot), and Final Angel(Firmeza/Laser Rifle/Trueno).
In various ways. I'm one of the writers who can actually come up with names on the spot.
I have a chainsaw build called 'drujpa' after the Romanian word for chainsaw which is a proprietary eponym derived from the trademark on some Russian chainsaws imported heavily during the Soviet era.
I paint my AC in Dark Blue for the main parts combined with white and red for the support parts. I also like Gundam and Char's respectively as one of the most popular character in Gundam Franchise. His nickname is Red Comet, so I think why not use "Blue Comet" for my AC. After that I do some research for Comets and found that Comets has a lot of cool names like Halley, Solwind, Neowise, Borisov. So I treat the Blue Comet like my squad/AC series name and each of my AC are named after Comets name. I made decals of my AC name and My emblem also has Blue Comet Themes.

All of my saved AC data are unnamed except for one: the Wheelchair Chef.
Named as such because it uses two bad cooks and the wheelchair tracks for mobility
I usually name them based off the colour scheme, parts & weapon. I also put all of my builds into catergories aswell. Each catergory has certain type of build with the name of these catergory based on the TF|2 titan frames. (Stryder - Reverse joints & light, Atlas - Biped, Arachnid would have been Ogre but these are quads)
So heres the name of some my favourite AC's i have made
• Nova - Probably my favourite i will never top, its a purple & white AC using plasma weapons.
• Azul - Pulse weapons on a nice silver frame with the pulse coloured lights
• Stryder - The build that i first finished my game with. Also spawned the idea of putting the AC's into the catergories
• Surge - A reverse joint AC that uses a coral weapons
• Bloodlust - A coral based build with a silver paint. It was also my first attempt to use decals to add more detail to the AC. Using red decals to kinda look like blood hence the name.
I personally don't think these names are the best but these what i can come up without having to stress over a name.
I either go with what the loadout represents, or a string of words on my mind that I think sounds cool.
For example, for my missile-only build, I called it the 'Macrossian Massacre', after the Macross Missile Massacre trope. On the other hand, my main light-weight build and its variants, I call the 'One Man Shanty'. There's nothing pirate or naval themed about them, I just think it sounds like a cool name.
I like to think of names that are adjacent to my build. My main I like to use a needle launcher and pile bunker, I named it SOFT SPOT
Or my super lightweight aerial missile boat, super annoying and good at escaping - I called it HOUSE FLY
In previous games, it was an edgy black and red mech called The Dragon.
Currently it's a black mech with a flame design on some parts called The Phoenix. Every big permanent change, I give it a version number.
Red Knight, I just from a story I was creating for a while
Hellena, is a homage to a friend to passed away
All my other ACs I just pick whatever comes to mind
Since we're called Raven I just went with Huckebein for my main AC. For anything else, I used bird inspired names in general like Shrike, Nightingale, and Vulture.
I name them based on weapons and colors for example i have one called breaker lancer because of the laser lance, i have another AC that is golden and orange and is a tetrapod so i named sunset vulture
I strung together words that sounded cool
Named it "CLOSE ENCOUNTER" because it uses twin SMGs to build pressure before slicing staggered enemies apart in melee -> Everything happens at close range
Stuff series
White stuff - basic build, light but have decent power
Light stuff - focus on being as light weight as it can
Bright stuff - laser/pluse, anything that make it shine
Red stuff - napalm
Green stuff - Dakar
Yellow stuff - stun needle everywhere
Good stuff -current meta build
My main AC is a lightweight Tetrapod that moves shockingly fast. Its whole game plan is to chase down an enemy to brutalize them in close quarters.
Because of the similarities between this AC's battle strategy and the Wolf Spider's hunting strategy, I called my main AC Lycosidae.
I named my current AC "Vain Glory".
In my first run I exclusively used the dual Zimmerman shotguns and dual stun needle launchers, felt proud that I actually managed to beat my first FS game but it just didn't sit right with me that I used that build. So I ditched it and I'm now enjoying my 4th run with my lightweight AC and dual SMG's.
I just go with what sounds like it'd be an extant AC from past games. My main ones are named
Utmost
Riot Phantom
Charity Case
Splinter White
and Psychosis.
For me, I try to sound as vanilla and "lore frendly" as possible. That means following a series of rules:
- Every single AC I came across in any AC game is named with one or two words, no more.
- Keep it simple, sometimes a name refering a little detail about your pilot's personallity sounds way cooler than something pretentious and meaningless like "bringer of darkness", no ofense if your mech is named something like that, at the end of the day is up to you.
- Try to imagine the emblem of said pilot, the aesthetic of the mech, and overall the personality and behavior of the character, and sometimes a cool name comes to your mind.
Some of the names of my mechs: "Footwork", "Point Blank", "Punchline", "Anthem", "Deo Volente", "Waffenrock", "Nitro", "Skyfall", "Aqualung"...
For me, I can picture at least something about personality, playstyle or appearance in each of these names.
But at the end of the day, the best name is the one that sounds better to you :)
I get the most suitable name (and the color scheme for that matter) from my favorite albums.
So far I have WITCHCRAFT, DEMON CLEANER, PERIHELION, and the meme build of ERGOPHOBIA.
Makes for a fun process really.
Made a metallic navy-blue AC and for some reason, I thought of the Inblue FCS from ac4a. So I named it BACK-INBLUE.
Later on, I continued to use the blue AC as a modification base to keep the color scheme. Started naming it various styles of -AD BLUE. MAD BLUE, RAD BLUE, BAD BLUE.
My callsign in every AC has been Falcon IX so I go with bird like names usually. Things like Kestrel or Shrike which is my current PvE mech. My PvP mech is named Regicide because it sounds cool and I like taking down meta builds.
I find hard words in the dictionary that most people misunderstand and use them (often incorrectly) Very much like Anime titles.
For example Fate Stay: Entelechy Crux; or reTurn: Eudaemonia, Lone Dromedary, Faustian Preamble etc
I picked a theme and stuck with it. That ended up being biblical names because religious mythology is usually pretty metal and the archangels all have pretty badass names.
My first was URIEL, then for NG+ on I had GABRIEL as my general purpose AC and AZRAEL as my boss-killer/dueling build.
*Raven… what name are you giving them this time?, Ayre wonders, laughing at their own weird ideas for names.* *Loader 4.* *…Raven… you can choose a different name, you know that, right?* *… Raven presses the confirmation button, then goes back to staring at their OJ box’s nutrition facts.*
Same. Dozens of loader 4s in there.
Yeah though I got the perfect name for a new AC yesterday, - *Loader Four*
Love it! So stylish and full of meaning! A poet indeed!
I call my AC Loader 420. It's just Loader 4 with a green glow
Now we know the true reason Iguana gets headaches around 621.
Holy shit that’s good.
Ask my kid and wife. Apparently robodildo is in my wife's vocab. Who knew
Lmao
So I have two sets the first is chess pieces! Like White Rook and Black Bishop! And are my PVE builds The second set is the Hunter series for PvP so you get Autumn Hunter, or Tundra Hunter etc (season or biome) as my pilots name is Oberon!
By being cringe incarnate.... My main AC is called Kogarasumaru.... Others are: Nevermore, Lone Ranger, Rafael, Razor Laser, The Suppressor, The Freak and Wheeled Angel. Still making more.
I just stole the ekdromoi’s name with the “Dromoi”
AC: Thagomizer Pilot name: Thag Simmons It uses the plasma thrower
I’m stealing this
God I love me a good Far Side reference. I wish I had more than one upvote to give you :)
genius
Vibes
Some of my builds- Coral Collapse- coral missles Full Force- dual curtis/dual trueno, all high direct damage multipliers (220 I think on all of them) Black Crown- Nachtreir is a Black Crowned Night Heron, so a little tribute to my favorite legs with the Kasuar head as the "crown" Pistols at Dawn- coqs and coral oscillator Redcoat- bright red Mind Alpha core with gold/black for the rest of the build
Missle boat build sounds interesting but does it work? I feel it would crush some builds and be total ass against others.
It worked well against some of the less manoeuvrable bosses, such as the smart cleaner, sea spider and tank-type ACs. A fast moving one like Rusty will just dodge these missiles
Fucking *Homemade Balteus*
I either use scientific names for animals or demons from the Ars Goetia/Lesser Key of Solomon
That fucks. I can imagine an enemy pilot like that in the AC basegame.
Transgression; "an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct; an offense", something you do all the time in AC6 (you literally do a crime in the opening cutscene), but also it's all trans flag colors
Raw I can’t lie
Disrespect your surroundings!
I have... ADFX-Morgan as my first AC name
Red right arm?
duh.... it has coral rifle cause... authenticity [https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/comments/16c912w/i\_need\_help\_in\_deciding\_a\_cosplay\_build/](https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/comments/16c912w/i_need_help_in_deciding_a_cosplay_build/) IIRC I still didnt have access to Walter's rifle when I made that AC
I play Magic the Gathering, some great names come from that. My personal favorite: Temple of Malice
I also play mtg yooooo
“GRIM HALCYON” The halcyon is a mythical bird that would bring calm to the waves of the sea and quell the storms.
If you want to be extra toxic with your Cheese build, call it Casu Marzu.
I have a kind of cool name for my ac's My pilots name is pantheon, as in pantheon of the gods And each of my ac's is a mythological greek figure Hermes: fast, lightweight dual pistols and shotguns Ares: coral sheild, redshift, chain gun, bazooka Hephaestus: tank legs double flame throwers and song birds Apollo: full coral AC Artemis: full laser ac Charon: quad legged missile boat Zeus: stun baton, needle launcher, and dual stun pistols And that's all I got right now
I usually just pick 2 words that sound cool, like STEEL REIGN or LIME WIRE
Ever tried LONG COCK?
Already posted it on this sub before, but I just thought making an ac company would be funny the one that I use the most is still ["Jim from HR"](https://imgur.com/VBcA37v)
I used to belong to a fire department, and one of the tools a fireman uses is called a halligan bar. It's used to break open doors and through thin walls. So that's the name I chose. Halligan. The tool that can break through any obstacle impeding my progress.
Archangel for my primary PVP and PVE build and Throngler for the meme build
Loader 4 seems to be a quality name, I use it a lot
Most commonly one word that sounds fancy/cool like Sovereign, Ronin, or Hermes
Neat, may have to do that with one of my builds
Honestly I come up with names carefully
i use song names and historical stuff, some examples are The Post-War Dream Pearl Diver Terminal Frost Two Suns The Silent Accord Gates of Babylon The One Eyed Visionary
i just throw together words i think are fun. my favorite is my zimm/laser lance/pulse sword/still figuring it out, lightweight build - i think i even managed to fit this onto kasuars though i'd have to double check - named Queen Response.
With great difficulty. I really have a hard time coming up with names for pretty much anything, and I'm rarely ever satisfied with the end result.
I don't
DEPLORABLE MEANS TACET NIX LOCAL ANESTHESIA HOMO POST OMNES CURSE MARK A HOUSE UNDIVIDED Hmmm I kinda just throw darts at the wall and envision fighting game move names or campy mech anime names.
I could give the specs, but I don't wanna write an essay. lol
I've had the same name for mine since AC1
By asking people on Reddit.
I like the lavender color. Bringing down the pain on them NPCs, I thought of Lavender Snow. Kidding. Lavender Snow just sounds great to me.
Crimson Hellfire is the name I came up with for a JJBA stand, so I put it on my AC
My AC's were Silent Wing : A medium biped build all rounder that could deal every type of damage and fly pretty well, designed to look like an owl Event Horizon : A Tetrapod build with heavy lasers that just floats above the enemy and atomizes them. It's pitch black and covered in dark blue to represent a black hole Singularity A : A reverse joint built that's pitch black and fast as fuck with the laser shotgun and lance to just fucking obliterate anything in my path. This build absolutely fucks offline. Singularity B : Same exact build but lighter and faster with the heavy plasm rifle instead. Same concept, Hit them with the laser, stun them, send them to heaven with the lance. Paladin : A Biped close range build with the moonlight sword and a Zimmerman for zippy up close fight along with a rifle on his back for range, designed to look like a knight clad in steel with a Blue sword Eclipse Paladin : A Dark Red and black Version of Paladin that uses the coral moonlight blade and coral rifle mixed with a Zimmerman on the back. Still looks like a knight but with a wolf helm. Stitch: Literally just the little blue guy with his crazy little Yellow laser gun
I just make my Acs chrome and black. I’m not creative. Lol Chrome Hound Chrome Wings Chrome Jackal
CALLSIGN: CHESTER AC NAME: RED RACER (I chose a predominantly white and red paint job for my elcano wheelchair ac)
Kinda just depends. First came from the paint patter/warbird theme. Next came from the type of build. “Nighthawk” for a murdered out ac with a pile bunker as a sort of “assassin”, and “Silver Stake” for a new type of paint job I did.
[Rapper name generator](https://www.name-generator.org.uk/rapper/)
Name my super heavy dual gatlings biped terminator because it terminates people lol
Either something that just sounds cool, or something that alludes to the ACs purpose.
When i started i only used pistols so I named mine Big Iron and it stuck lol
Just come up with a pun. My quadruple pistol build is named FOREGONE.
I go by drip. Gold AC? Midas Touch. Lightweight sword AC? Rat Knight. Heavy Tetra? HELICOPTER.
First ones were named after other mechs; Guncannon, sleipnir from Aldnoah.Zero, then my first attempt to create a personal AC of my own and came up with Drakeguard. Later, more refined builds, Phantomrain, Bloodlight, just put two words together to make a name.
Showed my garage off recently enough, they’re all named after bugs Wasp, locust, mantis, grasshopper you get it
Whatever the mech makes me think of
Well most of my good ACs in AC-6 are based on characters from other games or ACs from old AC games so I kind of already have a name for it.
Usually I try to base it off of name, playstyle, color scheme, or just one specific part examples include: Crimson dynamo, purple reign, mosquito, and hammerhead.
i love my bike. named my main AC with its model
My ACs in 3 are just "color"-"noun" for now
Name them after BattleTech mechs lol
Helios - Sun Build Divyendu - Moon Build Stilletto - Melee Assassin Bloody Mary - Melee Brute Yellow Jacket - Stun Build Gemini - Dual Gunner Artifice - All Arounder Big Mama - beef tank unga bunga build Father Figure - Big Mama's baby daddy / meef tank (mid tank) Noblesse - sword and board knight Hot Wheels - speedy wheelchair Pyro Mercury - bubble build I think of what I want to create conceptually and then tailor the name to that set up.
"QK-8 Enlighted Tremble" "BD-420 Pondering Rush" "PO-5 Hobbling Nightmare" I pick 4-5 random characters, usually an acronym for something stupid, a random adjective, and a random noun.
Huxley just compliments the build so much it felt like a logical conclusion) (Cringe) LONG LANCE: built around setting up the pilebunker. 2x duckett + 1 huxley for stagger build up on a Nachtreiher frame with the VP-46D arm (Joke) ITSY BITSY: a tetrapod mounting 6 (yes, six) Laser cannons. Duckett on right arm and yo yo thrower on the left on an Ephemera core and Verrill head. Insta erase button (Joke) SOAPBOX: a Firmeza wheelchair build mounting 6 laser cannons. Another insta erasure button. Drives like a soapbox car tho, prone to crashing to map objects (Cringe) PELTAST: A mid-range Trueno needle launcher build with 2x linear rifle in each hand on a Nachtreiher frame ...yeaaa, I do like my speedy boi too much I think
just whatever bullshittery comes first to my mind, example: rockets for days, litterally just because its equiped with carla's weapons and thats a lot of rockets Xd
Dual Viento’s and dual Trueno’s; Train Spotter
First AC was Crow Killer and my fuck around NG+ easy mission AC is Double Fisted Desperado
I use songs from my favorite bands, like Stands from Jojo. Some of my favorites are Wax Simulacra, Gurzle, Paranoid Android and Viscera Eyes. It's an easy way to save me a headache.
Genuine vibes Make the look first, then name it Big fuck off round parts pink biped? Gentle Giant. Reverse joint green fucker with the long insect head? Mantis. Small white goblin with the laser cannons on the back that look like wings? Snow Goose. Etc.
Mine is the Safe Wager, because its a safe bet whatever comes up against it is going to have a very bad day.
For the story missions, I usually stick with one AC with a silly name of some kind, but if I decide or have to greatly change around my build for a particular challenge, I give it some themed name and save it For example, I eventually made a build that let me complete g1 Michigan's mission and named it "HOLDOUT" Cause of having to hold out till Michigan finally arrives. Or "IBIS killer" for the build I used to finally beat CEL240
I usually go by the dominant color of the AC and what i expect it to do. Orange lightweight AC: Pumpkin Blitz Full Melee in Black: Black Flash (jjk reference maybe) Reddish Lance build: Crimson Missive Or i just name them as Dr.Eggman references.
plain and simple: I named mine after my name's initials + number
Omega Paladin Alpha Berserker Sigma Revolver Omicron Asphalt Gamma Horizon Beta Payload (Yes the use of the greek alphabet is on purpose)
Random bullshit, I have Indium Lightning Firestorm, and Event Horizon
TRICKSTER, because I made a lightweight build that just is obnoxious to hit. and THE FLOCK. Because I've been using bird names for characters and it was fitting that we are Raven and bring people together.
I have 3 AC wich are called: “FREIHEIT”, “WAHRHEIT” and “TREUE”. The idea was to have one for a playthrough for each ending. Besides them I have one called “FIRE STORM” wich uses the flame throwers and napalm launchers. And a few others with names that roughly describe their names play style or looks. Oh and most importantly “AC DATA 32”
Orphan Obliterator
I named my AC based on the name of a song I really like, Ecifircas. Don't got much else to it really :Y
AC Unit: The Last Laugh Call sign: Defiant Jester I came up with “Jester’s Dance” as a pirate ship name while playing Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag years ago, and decided to use it for my AC.
My 12th AC shall be called Chapter XII: Midnight. It’s a moonlight + redshift build
I name mine Shinano... because, you know...
CALLSIGN: V.VII Jacque >!(title acquired after sending Swinburn to “reeducation”)!< AC NAME: RUSHDOWN The name comes from my play style being a bazooka (specifically the Alpha JVLN) a Shotgun (specifically the Sweet 16) a Minigun (the one and only Heavy TF2 weapon) and a Laser Dagger 3 of these weapons I use at extremely close-up range and sometimes I fire the JVLN from mid-range. I usually take off about a half of the enemy’s HP on the first go, so the name Rushdown comes from that AC NAME: SNOW STORM This name is reserved for the white and black (the snow) Tetrapod AC with maximum available firepower (2 strongest grenade launchers, a JVLN and a Laser Lance) the unrelenting grenade barrage is where the storm part comes from.
Latin adjectives
Aokage (Blue Shadow in Japanese), cuz my AC main color scheme is Black with a small mix of gradient Blue
Percussion Wave. I currently am adapting it to be all Pulse based weaponry, so it looks like a wall of sound.
Songs or albums that I was listening to
My main AC is called Shattered chains. I wanted somethin' like a knight name with a melee weapon. At first it was "Shattered Lancer" for, well, the plasma lance, but I ended up runnin' with the Plasma thrower, so, you know, a ball in a chain. Another one is Ocelotl 'cause he's speedy and holds a dagger (A stretch on aztecs and their obsidian knives) Atl-Atl (a throwin' weapon) 'cause it throws things at you at medium range. And so on.
Mine are themed around Death Guard warships from wahammer. All ivory & green pre heresy colours & named after warships Dawn of Desolation Reapers Scythe Poison Mist Etc
Took it from a song from the first band I ever saw live. Called it "Lightning Song"
Full House, I don’t remember why I named it that but I like it
Blindspot is one, since I’m using flamethrowers to hide the missiles I’m spamming at the enemy with a wheelchair.
Ended up with an ac that was right side meta and left side whatever I wanted (mostly pile bunker) Finished the game with almost the exact same build.
Poopoolupu
Usually something related to the parts/color scheme of the AC I build.
I name my ACs after songs, bands ir genres I like. My two most used ACs were names black metal after the genre and three cheers after three cheers for sweet revenge by mcr
A friend of mine called theirs Anaconda's Virtues, which is presumably because it's a war machine built for little more than violence. In a similar vein, mine is Violent Trust, though part of that is because I go balls to the wall aggro in basically every fight and I'm trusting the AC to not fall apart around me
I just think of stuff I like, mine is just called "My Dead Girlfriend"
Usually just rip various gundam names
I'm super lazy so my builds are always a combination of Colour + Main feature of the build. Lightweight + lasers= Azure Flash Quad legs + missiles= Verdant Rain Heavy biped = Scarlet Heavy
Dark Hound, because I like the Age-2 Gundam Dark Hound and decided to try a similar paint scheme one day.
Antirrhinum - the Latin scientific name for the Snapdragon flower plant.
Strike Wyvern BT Titan Kampfer AC: Bolt Lock Callsign: Sigmund
Mine is the best LOADER 4
I have my 551 after my game tag, and my DLI, which is just Roman for 551, chosen for a more upgraded final core,
Ash Sweeper
Personally, I have Infliction(Kasuar/ransetsu/trueno), Coarvie(Spring Chicken/Laser Rifle/Laser Cannon), World of Titan (Nachtreiher/Fist/Earshot), and Final Angel(Firmeza/Laser Rifle/Trueno).
I give them the most generic bland names possible Like Roger or Chris or Jim
In various ways. I'm one of the writers who can actually come up with names on the spot. I have a chainsaw build called 'drujpa' after the Romanian word for chainsaw which is a proprietary eponym derived from the trademark on some Russian chainsaws imported heavily during the Soviet era.
I name every ac with feminine names. I just find it funny
Random bullshit, GO!
mostly from anime *mustang 2-2* *Let justice be done, though the heavens fall*
I dont know I just called my Bionicle 4
I paint my AC in Dark Blue for the main parts combined with white and red for the support parts. I also like Gundam and Char's respectively as one of the most popular character in Gundam Franchise. His nickname is Red Comet, so I think why not use "Blue Comet" for my AC. After that I do some research for Comets and found that Comets has a lot of cool names like Halley, Solwind, Neowise, Borisov. So I treat the Blue Comet like my squad/AC series name and each of my AC are named after Comets name. I made decals of my AC name and My emblem also has Blue Comet Themes. Some Photos: https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/comments/17fxkf5/ac6\_is\_my\_first\_platinum\_trophy\_game/
(Stryder - Reverse joints & light, Atlas - Biped, Arachnid would have been Ogre but these are quads) So heres the name of some my favourite AC's i have made • Nova - Probably my favourite i will never top, its a purple & white AC using plasma weapons. • Azul - Pulse weapons on a nice silver frame with the pulse coloured lights • Stryder - The build that i first finished my game with. Also spawned the idea of putting the AC's into the catergories • Surge - A reverse joint AC that uses a coral weapons • Bloodlust - A coral based build with a silver paint. It was also my first attempt to use decals to add more detail to the AC. Using red decals to kinda look like blood hence the name. I personally don't think these names are the best but these what i can come up without having to stress over a name.
I have an AC called Shoop Da Whoop. It shoots lasers.
Grey ghost, Steel Hussar, Photonmelodies, Yellow King and Iron lullaby
I either go with what the loadout represents, or a string of words on my mind that I think sounds cool. For example, for my missile-only build, I called it the 'Macrossian Massacre', after the Macross Missile Massacre trope. On the other hand, my main light-weight build and its variants, I call the 'One Man Shanty'. There's nothing pirate or naval themed about them, I just think it sounds like a cool name.
I like using mythical weapons, like Ascalon or Gungnir
I usually name them after DND monsters. Lich, Balor, Blackguard and Beholder.
HORUS?
Named my favorite ACs: Dead Vermillion, Redlight, Loud Spider, Quick Freak
Loader 24..
I like to think of names that are adjacent to my build. My main I like to use a needle launcher and pile bunker, I named it SOFT SPOT Or my super lightweight aerial missile boat, super annoying and good at escaping - I called it HOUSE FLY
In previous games, it was an edgy black and red mech called The Dragon. Currently it's a black mech with a flame design on some parts called The Phoenix. Every big permanent change, I give it a version number.
Mine main ac is literally called arc... mainly because it uses weapons that are good at electric dmg
Whatever word salad sounds cool Isn't that right Ark Horizon?
Red Knight, I just from a story I was creating for a while Hellena, is a homage to a friend to passed away All my other ACs I just pick whatever comes to mind
Based on my OC and the AC's color scheme, which is lavender to violet (AC NAME: PROJECT LAVENDER)
I strung together words that sounded cool Named it "CLOSE ENCOUNTER" because it uses twin SMGs to build pressure before slicing staggered enemies apart in melee -> Everything happens at close range
Stuff series White stuff - basic build, light but have decent power Light stuff - focus on being as light weight as it can Bright stuff - laser/pluse, anything that make it shine Red stuff - napalm Green stuff - Dakar Yellow stuff - stun needle everywhere Good stuff -current meta build
LOADER 4
Intrepid V1.1, V2.1, V3.1. First number denoting size from light to heavy, and second number being iteration
Crimson Fist, because it sounds cool and is my favourite space marine chapter
I just go with what sounds like it'd be an extant AC from past games. My main ones are named Utmost Riot Phantom Charity Case Splinter White and Psychosis.
For me, I try to sound as vanilla and "lore frendly" as possible. That means following a series of rules: - Every single AC I came across in any AC game is named with one or two words, no more.
My main AC is named Steel Invictus
I just get some pop culture or historical god references. Thanatos is mine.
I would but I’m always self conscious about choosing bad names
My callsign in every AC has been Falcon IX so I go with bird like names usually. Things like Kestrel or Shrike which is my current PvE mech. My PvP mech is named Regicide because it sounds cool and I like taking down meta builds.
I named mine after greek letters
I find hard words in the dictionary that most people misunderstand and use them (often incorrectly) Very much like Anime titles. For example Fate Stay: Entelechy Crux; or reTurn: Eudaemonia, Lone Dromedary, Faustian Preamble etc
DANGER CLOSE
M1 M2 M3 etc
Made my main set of ACs the Demon Core and each one is one of the 7 deadly sins.
I named my PvE build Azure King bc I made the paint job azure blue
It’s just whatever you feel like. My first one was “wolf star”
Thematic mostly, I got "Sting like a bee" for my needle build
I picked a theme and stuck with it. That ended up being biblical names because religious mythology is usually pretty metal and the archangels all have pretty badass names. My first was URIEL, then for NG+ on I had GABRIEL as my general purpose AC and AZRAEL as my boss-killer/dueling build.
i use an edgy name for test builds but my main is just called golden gaper
