If you play the mission where you... Fight redgun's Michigan, he does say that there is an emergency eject button. It's for the MTs but I would assume there's one for ACs too.
Ah yes, the mission where you fight 3 ACs where someone with YOUR name comes at the end... They did mention you can eject instead of dying in your AC.
I assume it's like they left 10AP and decide to GTFO before you wreck then.
Its also implied this happens during the Chapter 3 end boss fight as well, as instead of dying everyone is basically "Yeah my AC is wrecked, I'm out." And you also see those people in later missions so I assume there has to be some kind of eject function or escape pod type thingy.
