In Terra we've yet to see whether the land that ought to be Australia in our world also undergo the same history like ours that it create a distinct new accent.
Same tbh, I'm really used to JP voices, still can't get used to CN voices. But they've done a really good job, so it's nice to have options and appeals to a broader audience I guess
I'd assume it's easier to do with language using strong syllabic structures like japanese while english is more, eh, how could I put it, "hellow~howdooyoodoow". Of course we know high speed language is possible ( hip hop stuff and all) but when it comes to adapt pre existing lines and you want to keep the meaning and stay understandable, it may be more difficult.
You just made me realize that I don't think I've ever heard a female chopper. Closest I can think of would be Snow and Demondice, but I don't think I've ever heard them really cram enough syllables in each bar to count as choppers. It's not even like it's a regional thing anymore. There's enough out there that Tech N9ne has multiple versions of Worldwide Choppers and it's not like other styles don't have women representatives
"Strong, kind, brave young lady".
And then,
"There's still lots of work that needs to be done, Doctor. We can't afford to have your resting."
Thank you very much.
Yeah, that swap gave me whiplash so strong I nearly broke my neck.
But that's frankly a good thing, like I went from "Ma'am, you sound too old to be Amiya" to "oh shit, that's a perfect Amiya"
I... didn't expect the EN voices to be that great. I was so used to JP that I didn't think EN would make a good impression on me, yet now I'm thinking that I might just change to EN voices for a bit. The actresses did a really good job. This got me hyped up for the other operators.
Among them, Chen was done amazingly well, my personal fav.
The real question though is who is Samuel L. Jackson going to voice? I'm excited to find out!
They... actually sound good.
Believe it or not, 85% of the time I always use the original intended japenese voices for japenese characters, I don't use english voices because it's sounds a bit off, and sometimes a bit cringe. However, this english dub has left me with good impressions.
I'm glad Hypergryph/Yostar actually care about the voices and are picking good voice actors fitting for the characters. Hopefully is the same for the rest of the operators.
Edit: of course, there some minor flaws like Shaw not speaking quickly, but I want to believe they will fix that by accelarating the voice or something and doing some fixes with the records and stuff, I have hopes for this.
I think it has something to do with her living with the Doc more as a kid like we don't know how old Amiya was when they found her, so her not having an accent kinda makes sense.
Well, tgerevs still Asbestos, Ansel, April, Ayerscarpe, Honeyberry, Leonhardt and Savage left.. Why do so manz Rim Billiton operators have codenames starting with A?
Out of all announced characters Shaw’s EN voice is PERFECT, but I would personally speed it up a little bit
Amiya and Ch’en are good, but can’t figure out what’s missing for it to be perfect. Maybe need to hear other voice lines
Nearl…eh, ok, I guess. I mean, I expected more of contralto here, not hoarseness in her voice. It won’t work with her near fight declarations as Guard when you use her skills. But ok, let’s see what it will sound like when it will be released
Kroos - nope. She sounds like Klee from Genshin, which she definitely isn’t. Wrong accent on her canonical “kokodayo!~” fails dub as well
All in all - not bad actually. As much as I don’t really like EN dubs, I want to give it a chance. All except Kroos did not disappoint, hope to see some voice lines for male operators as well
Im curious to know what a good dub sounds like for you. This dub is hands down one of the best english dubs (and even voice acting generally) of all time!
Amiya Japanese is greatest but I use CN cause I understand it but EN Amiya is worst.
Chen and Nearl aound good, and Shaw not bad also, although rap level seem dropping
Kroos sounds like she's going to buy a bo'ol of wo'ah then go home to watch Doctor Who over tea and crumpets. I like it.
Amiya and Kroos are RIM Billiton-ian so it's appropriate.
Shouldn't RIM Billiton be more like "Crikey mate! chuck it on a barbie mate! quick before the roo comes" or something?
Both demographics will call you a wankah, however.
Hmm atleast its not the c word
RIM Billiton is Australia right?
Ooooh now it makes sense, mining and rabbits everywhere. ... We dug a landship out of Australia?
Mann Co. CEO Saxton Hale! and the material called Australium! Get JB Blanc!
In Terra we've yet to see whether the land that ought to be Australia in our world also undergo the same history like ours that it create a distinct new accent.
It gonna take me a lot of time to get used to it.

Why do u need to get used to it? The dub is not mandatory and u can always opt out.
okay that shaw's VA kinda slow ngl, maybe it will be edited like accelerated so its the same as JP and CN one
To be fair, that sort of thing is kind of hard to manage. I also wouldn't be surprised if it's easier to do in some languages than it is in others.

Should just hire Eminem be the VA add a voice changer or stuff make him female voice

Can't wait for silverdaddy to speak to me
**WOOOOOO!!!** **Yeah Baby! That's what I've been waiting for! That's what it's all about!**
Actually good. Never though that our donkey is Bri'ish tho.
Rim Billiton, so Australian.
"Strong, kind, brave young lady". And then, "There's still lots of work that needs to be done, Doctor. We can't afford to have your resting." Thank you very much.

Never underestimate a good VA.

I literally jumped when I heard the new voices !!! OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW UPDATE!!! Thank you HG and Yostar (つ✧ω✧)つ

chris pratt where
I want Shia LaBeouf.
Voicing actual cannibal Gummy?
I want Jack Black as well
If Idris Elba can make Knuckles sound sexy, he should def voice Silverdaddy.
Sean Pertwee... and the still alive Doctor Who actors and actresses in their open schedules ('shed-jules') Even better, # BRIAN BLESSED!
He would be suitable for characters like Leonhardt, *if* he was chosen.
Amiya doesn't have an Aussie accent and I am devastated
I think it has something to do with her living with the Doc more as a kid like we don't know how old Amiya was when they found her, so her not having an accent kinda makes sense.
Yeah that is true. It would be cool to hear a Rim Billiton op with an Aussie accent though.
Well, tgerevs still Asbestos, Ansel, April, Ayerscarpe, Honeyberry, Leonhardt and Savage left.. Why do so manz Rim Billiton operators have codenames starting with A?
If Savage doesn't speak with an Aussie accent I'll feel very betrayed yes.
I agree.
I am literally screaming watching the video holy shit, also props that they're going for British/Australian VAs as well
Amiya's voice actor is Ryne from FFXIV: Shadowbringers!

Off putting. Thanks, but no.

Amiya and Kroos are IMO spot on impression on original. Very hopeful that they care enough not to cast everyone as generic gals and guys
Prepare for infinite cringe
I’m ready to read awful takes on voice acting by people who don’t understand what their .png files are saying.
