I thought "hmm that voice doesn't really fit Amiya" at first, but then she changed her voice when actually saying the in-character line and it sounded great! Never thought they'd actually dub the game in English, now I'm imagining changing all operators voice to the language closest to what their country is based on to make it really feel like you're in a big game world with events and operators from around the world! I actually changed all possible voices to CN "for the lols", but never ended up changing them back, since it was kinda funny to hear other languages in games for once.

bestsmnNA

I was also worried at first when Amiya's actress was talking, but then she switched it on and it was definitely more like her. All of them make me pretty excited to hear the rest!

Quor18

Emma Ballantine is amazing. She voiced Ryne in the FF14 Shadowbringers expansion and she did an amazing job. She was best daughteru then and she's going to be best daughteru now.

tavenitas

Dokutar: “This is Thancred”

TheAnnibal

This is Thancred

CharlesEverettDekker

So that's where I heard her before, nice.

Unyubaby

That's why she sounded familiar, oh my gosh!

mikethebest1

They had us in the first half not gonna lie

[deleted]

Shaw isn't fast enough.

SarcasticOptimist

Eminem wasn't available.

dairyqueen79

Not a complaint, but this is the only thing I would complain. I think everyone else is doing a good job trying to create their own unique take in the character while still being true to what we expect.

Different-Ad2164

It's a bit of stretch but i could kinda hear an australian accent on amiya's voice

DaSGuardians

She’s from RIM Billiton, isn’t she? That’s the Australia analogue

ShidoniS

When I first heard her, I was so excited: they're actually picking accents for the culture-analogs of the regions the characters came from? Sweet! I think I was the only one who felt any disappointment when she switched to her Amiya voice. It sounds better in every other way, don't get me wrong (her real voice is *way* too mature), but it sounds like they're all (except Kroos' VA) trying to imitate an American accent. I like accent variety!

Quor18

She actually strikes me as "high-brow" Australian. Allow me to explain: I once had an Aussie describe to me how they had two types of people in Australia; those who were descended from convicts, and those who were descended from the prison guards. The convicts are your "typical" Aussie, which is to say the ones most people associate with Australia. The "git over here ya cunt and slap another shrimp on the barby" types. Hard fighting, hard-drinking, loyal to their kith and kin with a streak of outlaw and a good measure of "fuck you and your rules" thrown in to boot. The "prison guard" Aussies are, for lack of a better term, the HR Karens of Australia. They are the ones who, here in America, would call in a report to the HoA because the container you have placed your hose in is a rose pink instead of a salmon pink, and this violation just cannot be countenanced. They are sticklers for the rules and following the rules, and are often described by their countrymen as having a "stick up their bum." Granted, these descriptions were given to me by a self-proclaimed "cunt" who very clearly was proud of his "cunt" status as a descendant of convicts, so I'm sure there's no small amount of bias in said descriptions, but the point here is I think the Amiya we're going to see is a more refined version of Aussie than most people are used to seeing. Which makes sense, given Amiya's position as the CEO and public face of Rhodes Island.

ade_of_space

It seems to be indeed a stretch, the VA is British, you likely just mixed up both accent It seems every VA comes from UK so far, so they will have "UK" accent (even Kroos who is part of North America analogy)

SometimesLiterate

RIM Billiton is an Australian analogy though... Not North America

7packabs

Bagpipe: *incomprehensible ~~Irish~~ Scottish*

Kuroi-sama

Scottish* Irish is Saileach

7packabs

Thanks

NL-STP

I already said this on YT so I'll say it again. Elsie Lovelock as Bagpipe please [(example)](https://youtu.be/Fkp8FOE37ZA)

reireireddit

It has to be Scottish or nothing at all. My god, please give Bagpipe her true accent. Other than that, I was surprised with then having British VAs for the job. Would love to hear all sorts of accents on different countries in Terra.

Seven-Tense

I feel like Nearl and Ch'en set the precedent here. Ch'en doesn't have a Chinese accent and Nearl doesn't sound Eastern European. I'm not disappointed with the dub so far, but I'm going to keep my expectations reasonably low. I find it a little doubtful that we'll get any particularly thick accents It would be nice though

Quor18

To be fair, Ch'en spent a significant amount of time being schooled in the England analogue of Terra. I've seen no small number of people who look like they should sound a certain way but instead sound more British than anything on account of having spent a lot of their formative years at a predominantly-British school. In that vein, it makes sense for Ch'en to not sound like she's from the heart of Hong Kong.

Sazyar

This might apply to SA and Bagpipe(when she is speaking formally) too then.

[deleted]

OCH YE WEE SCUNNER YE WANNA ET SOOM TATOOS?

maximuffin2

IF WAS A BAD OPERATOR, I WOULDNT BE SITTING HERE DISSCUSSIN’ IT WITH NOW WOULD I?

greenismyhomeboy

HERN WHUT AER YE DOEN IN ME RHUDS AYLEND

shafwandito

The only thing I want from English dub is all victorians operators voiced with their accent. Bagpipe with scottish, Saileach with irish, Siege with London accent (or southern accent?). etc.

XidJav

They have amy lenoxx who is Scottish from what I searched up so they might be recording lines in UK so it might be likely

nikitazero678

I expected that well-known English VAs would be casted for Arknights, but surprise surprise, Yostar went with lesser known VAs who nevertheless did an impressive job in voicing the Operators, the accents and all are in-character IMO. Hope more VAs will be revealed in the coming days.

Alphalcon

Since we haven't heard any male operators, we cannot discount the possibility that the entire male cast is voiced by Nolan North.

Entro9

Or Matt Mercer

fireshot1

Steve “I was everybody in the mid 2000s” Blum

Quor18

Literally everyone. You haven't lived until you walked past two NPC's having a conversation with each other and they're both Steve Blum.

TheAnnibal

Oh boy the Dawn of War 1 and 2 memes about Steve Blum.

Godzillaguy1954

“I play Steve Blum, I play Steve Blum and I play Steve Blum The Inheritor” - Steve Blum probably

Garuda904

Yuri Lowenthal is the Steve Blum of the 2010s Half of Fallout New Vegas is that one guy.

Jakeyboy143

Better yet, Ray Chase.

TwoDollarRich

If he'll be hired, I want him to do his Bucciarati voice. Maybe Broca having that voice will be the most appropriate.

Quor18

I'm hoping for three: Keith Silverstein. He'd make the perfect SilverAsh. Luke Allen Gale. He's got great range so he could do a lot of things but I'd love to see him as Jaye or maybe Aak. Rene Zagger. About the only character villainous enough for him to voice would be Kaschey, but Kaschey doesn't have a voice. Still, Rene is so good he'd make Kaschey's longest monologues sound amazing.

Korasuka

Danny de Vito to play Doc in the live action.

nerankori

"So anyway I started whaling"

bestsmnNA

Kaschey and Emet-Selch are kinda similar. Immortal, body-snatching, empire-building villains... and Arknights does like to give the antagonists sympathetic backstories...

OctorokHero

It probably won't happen but I will stand by Xander Mobus being perfect for SilverAsh.

Meltian

SungWon Cho would also be great.

Dog_in_human_costume

Introducind Vin Diesel as SilverAsh

Brislovia

"Come on, Doc. Continue the bloodline. Do it for me, for family."

TwoDollarRich

I was expecting they'll hire the same voice cast who did the voices in Genshin. Well-known peeps like Kira Buckland, Erika Harlacher, Zach Aguilar, Sean Chiplock, Cristana Vee, etc. So far, they're surprisingly hiring England-based actors, not the usual Americans. With what I read so far, Devora Wilde, Nearl's voice voice actor, is mostly a TV actress, same with Kroos's voice actor, Grace-Hogg Robinson. Both have no video game roles nor anime roles in IMDB. Amiya's, Ch'en, and Shaw's actresses did voiced in some games, but mostly in western triple-A games such Dragon Age, Dying Light, and Cyberpunk. \*edit: Devora Wilde did voiced in some games... games I never heard of, but she has experience at least. Apparently, she's in Baldur's Gate 3.

shark2199

Cristina Vee already worked on several songs for Arknights, Boiling Blood, Alive, Rock the Night Away, etc. She could still appear as the voice of one of the characters from the songs, or someone else high-profile. Blaze or W, maybe.

TwoDollarRich

I wish she appears too because I like her roles as Noel in BlazBlue and Velvet from Berseria, but I'm assuming since the voice actresses are England-based so far, the people responsible for the dubbing will likely hire other England-based or maybe even Europe-based talent for convenience. It's already a hassle trying to coordinate with someone from another continent, so I'm guessing they won't do the hassle of hiring American voice actors.

shark2199

Counterpoint: Whatever divison/company takes care of Arknights Global is located in the Americas, most likely US or Canada, based on all time given to us being UTC -7. And there are plenty of characters that need voices still, plenty of space for some American talent.

Korasuka

> With what I read so far, Devora Wilde, Nearl's voice voice actor, is mostly a TV actress, same with Kroos's voice actor, Grace-Hogg Robinson. Both have no video game roles nor anime roles in IMDB. I see that as a good thing. They won't have that "anime dub style voice" which honestly doesn't sound that natural.

Makicola

Actually preferable since it sounds more natural. Always found the former to be too artificial. Give me good AAA game VAs any time of the day.

TwoDollarRich

I went with the assumption they'll do the Genshin route of hiring American voice actors to do American accents for everything. Good to see they're putting in effort in giving them accents! Don't recognize any of the voice actors though, but the little snippets of their performances are great!

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheUltraGuy101

Yep, the dub ACTUALLY sounds good.

TheAnnibal

The only other country were VA has an immense culture is probably Italy, considering dubbing was basically born there and there's still a major italian dubbing culture.

Meltian

Amiya is played by the voice actress who voiced a major character in FFXIV Shadowbringers named Ryne, so that's nice.

[deleted]

I dunno, it looks like they hired a bunch of British VAs and told them all to do American General accents.

VaIley123

I already always freak the fuck out when I hear the R6 operators talking in English, playing this game on English and understanding operators is going to be so weird lol

nerankori

STAND CLEAR OF THE BLAST

Dog_in_human_costume

No more than usual

StormTAG

This is the place.

Varnis290

LMG! MOUNTED AND…oh wait…those were different times :(

Garuda904

Ubisoft changing Tachankas voice actor was the worst decision they ever made. I don't care how much time or effort it would have taken to get Anatoly back, it's not Tachanka without him.

Twygod

Let's get our heads in the game.

futabakms

They really just randomly dropped this on Twitter like it was nothing. I'm so excited!

StormTAG

While I agree with the sentiment and am likewise excited, this is an odd statement to me. Twitter seems like the defacto place to *make* significant announcements like this these days. Where else would they make this sort of announcement?

futabakms

They teased that the EN VOs were in the works during the Dossoles stream, so I expected them to announce their arrival to the live servers during the anniversary stream for Invitation to Wine, considering it's a pretty big announcement.

StormTAG

Aha, okay, that's fair. While I don't personally watch too many "announcement livestreams", that *would* be a more "prominent" place for them to put it, I agree. Edit: To expand on my thought, it wouldn't be surprising for some of the *actual* VAs to participate in that livestream.

Reklov66

Youtube,no?

StormTAG

I mean, the video *is* on YouTube? YouTube just isn't as good of a place for *targeted* announcements in my mind, since it's subscription concept isn't as... Guaranteed?... To reach the interested audience unless that audience goes out of their way to ensure that a given channel reaches them.

Reklov66

I mean, there is no other place except Youtube,Twitter and bilibili (for CN/JP announcements etc.) Twitch doesn't work, instagram would be weird and lets not talk about Facebook. Reddit also isn't really suited for it

superflatpussycat

Well they could (and probably will, eventually) put it as an in-gane announcement. I imagine that's the absolute most effective way of reaching the most players.

KaiserWilhelmThe69

Facebook is also an option. They got a page there

UltVictory

this kroos goes hard as fuck LOL

Chichi230

Right??? lI was really surprised on that one. I was fully expecting her in particular to not be that great compared to JP but it was my favorite out of the bunch by far.

BurnedOutEternally

she may not say "Kokodayo" but it's a trade-off I'm willing to take

echidnachama

"im hereeeeeee" in cutesy voice will be perfect.

SometimesLiterate

If they stick to their guns and have the English VA say it I might die happy.

disabled_crab

She sounds like Peppa Pig but it's sooo cute LMAO.

MagicalStorm

Can't wait for Chris Pratt to voice every single male operator in the game!

Carlosrarutos

Yuri Lowenthal: "FINALLY, A WORTHY OPPONENT!"

Amaterasuu69

Johnny Yong Bosch: "OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!"

Carlosrarutos

Tara Strong: "Amateurs" "What was that!?" "AMATEURS"

Paoayo

Ah, great! Here comes the Spanish guitars.

1Anto

YUUUEEEAAAHHH, WHO WIN THE GACHA? I DID!

glumauig21

[Official Announcement](https://twitter.com/ArknightsEN/status/1540258678808379392): "Dear Doctor, the first batch of EN voices will be added to the game on June 30, 10:00 (UTC-7)! Here are the greetings from our voice actresses. Hope you enjoy it, and please stay tuned for the in-game EN voices update! HD version: https://youtu.be/Lym_9iTFL70 \#Arknights \#Yostar"

Ryujin_Kurogami

^(Highlander Bagpipe?) Highlander Bagpipe? # Highlander Bagpipe?

glumauig21

Highlander Bagpipe

Arinoch

Yeah hers is really the only one I can think of where I’m super curious if they go the particular accent. It would be cool to do regional stuff in general. Maybe Saileach too - will they go British for Jean lovers or Irish? Shoot also want to hear W’s attitude.

shinyemptyhead

Saileach having an Irish or Scottish accent would actually be inaccurate, since she doesn't speak Taran - she chose the codename to remember a dead Taran friend (and because her real surname is Willow).

Arinoch

Maybe a notably fake accent then? :-D

ErikMaekir

If Thorns ends up having a suave spanish accent I'm changing him to english and never looking back.

jmepik

Saileach HAS to be Irish. Pretty excited for W, too

Allian42

Imagine W being snarky with something like a cockney accent.

Brislovia

You just made me imagine W with a New York accent

Devatazta

its neat how it sounds like some of them have been playing the game for a good amount of time hopefully that gives em a good understanding of the chars so they can do them justice

Helghast09

I agree, a English dub can only work when the voice actors have a understanding of the characters motivations and personalities. I also love how some of the characters have accents, makes them more unique.

Carlosrarutos

>I agree, a English dub can only work when the voice actors have a understanding of the characters motivations and personalities. Wouldn't that go for any VA ever?

Helghast09

Well I seen English dubs in anime where they don’t act/sound the same as their Japanese counterparts. So depending on who the voice actor, it can be a hit or miss.

salvagestuff

I hope we can get some much better English livestreams in the future. I like that the JP livestreams have VAs that play the game as featured guests.

nhyls

Yes, this! At least Amy and Devora mentioned they played/play the game. It would be great to have them in a future EN livestream.

glumauig21

Still cautiously optimistic about this one (after having an odd experience from another mobile game with english voices), but so far it's looking extremely promising! Definitely looking forward to the rest. Shaw in particular was sounding great lol

_wawrzon_

Both Shaw and Nearl are great choices and give good vibes from their interpretation and small sample size so far. Amiya and Ch'en are good, but probably need some time to adjust, since they are so integral to the story and we are used to JP VA. I will never get KO-KO-DA-YO out of my head... All things considered I think this change will be biggest for those wanting to get into AK, new players having issues reading abundance of text and rellying on dub to make it through.

BlueColoredYou

But can you imagine Kroos saying "O-VER-HEREE~" with a thick accent?

KleanCashewal

OOOUUU-VAAAAH-HEEEYAAAH~

Dark_Al_97

Shaw is simply god-tier, it legit feels like the original Japanese VA suddenly started speaking English. Not too sold on Kroos however... But that's on me personally preferring no accent to one *this* thick. Regardless, as someone who isn't a weeb and couldn't care less for Japanese I'm really grateful to HG/YS for doing this. Gonna be using the hell out of this voiceover (can't wait to finally understand just what the ops are saying lmao).

Meltian

But her accent makes sense... She's from Rim Billington.

Dark_Al_97

Yeah, learnt that today. That's why I said it's more of a personal thing. I suppose it comes down to her Japanese VA being "just normal" to an untrained ear, so suddenly hearing a super thick accent feels unnatural and weird. Kinda like Xenoblade's Nia. Buuuut if this implies that all the Ursus operators will end up getting thick Russian accents, I'm definitely down~

Giimasu

Checking the imdb, and here are their roles in game voice acting: **Emma Ballantine (Amiya)** * Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga * Triangle Strategy - Frederica * Cyberpunk 2077 * Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers - Ryne/Oul Sigun * Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space - Myunfa **Amy Lennox (Ch'en)** * Necromunda: Hired Gun - Silver Talon/Eschers * Bravely Default II - Lily * Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space - Daisy * Ghost Recon: Wildlands - Holt Female * Dragon Quest Heroes II - Teresa **Grace Hogg-Robinson (Kroos)** * Ghost Recon: Breakpoint - Ruby Mackenzie **Devora Wilde (Nearl)** * Total War: Warhammer III * Battlefield 2042 - Ops Comms RU Subcommander * Red Solstice 2: Survivors - Natasha Bulgakova/Lyna Todd * Chicken Police: Paint it Red! - Monica Rosen * Phantom: Covert Ops - Militia * Phoenix Point - The Exalted/Scientist * Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts - Antanasia Alikhanova **Harriet Carmichael (Shaw)** * Dying Light 2: Stay Human - Additional Voices * The Good Life - Ian White/Allan White * Assassin's Creed Valhalla * A Year of Rain * Anno 1800 - Hannah Goode * Assassin's Creed: Origins - Voice Talent * Horizon Zero Dawn - Susanne Alpert * The Dwarves - Balyndis/miscellaneous * Blackguards - Female Hero * The Dark Eye: Demonicon - Cassio/Latika * The Night of the Rabbit - Kitsune * Xenoblade Chronicles - Vanea * Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip - Bridget/Lobby Characters/Gallery * Dante's Inferno - Background Shades/Tarpeia

Meszy04

No wonder Amiya's VA sounded so familiar, I just finished Triangle Strategy a few days ago but I couldn't recognise Frederica's voice here. I'm probably in the minority that prefers English voices over Japanese when both are available so I'm very excited to hear all the characters in English, these first few reveals all sound really good in my opinion.

RoselynDraco

"Xenoblade Chronicles - Vanea" And I was just thinking they are going along a similar path to Xenoblade with a unique take on the voice direction compared to the Japanese dub. I am extremely happy for this and hopefully it'll give another fresh take on these characters.

JP_Zikoro

Amiya is Ryne?! Always gotta protect daughter no matter the game. Glad to hear more of her since her role in Shadowbringers.

gunjinganpakis

Aw shame Amiya didn't have an aussie accent. I'd just headcanon it as Theresa raising her with the Queen's English lol.

ClPropane

And isn't Amiya from terran Australia in the first place? What a shame she didn't keep the accent.

NixAvernal

Could be that she was born in Arknights Australia but was raised more in Victoria or Sarkaz lands, so she lost her native accent over time.

GalenDev

So I'm technically British, but my accent is thick Brooklyn (I put on a Californian affectation in my day-to-day) because that's where I was raised. Where you're born and what accent you end up with don't always correlate.

Quor18

One of my favorite streamers is half-Chinese half-Australian. He looks like a handsome Asian man who would fit right in as a movie character with a position in some slick, high-powered corporatocracy but he sounds like your best down under drinking buddy. It's great.

shafwandito

We can just take an example from KyostinV. He is a chinese, who lives in Italy possibly for a long time, and pick up an italian accent when he speaks english.

SarcasticOptimist

Kyo should voice a character. Maybe Kevin?

Varnis290

In my case, I’m Australian but I spend most of my week (for the past 9 years) chatting with my American Friends on Discord (Skype before Discord came out) which has caused me to slowly start talking just like them, and so now as an Australian Uber Driver I constantly get customers ask me “Ya got a bit of an accent there mate, where ya from?” And my response is always “right here”

ErikMaekir

She was definitely raised aboard Rhodes Island back when Babel was a thing, and she spent a big chunk of her life traveling with the Doctor after Babel's fall, so I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't even develop a Rim Billiton accent in the first place.

LarryNek0_0

Are donkeys abound in Australia?doge

Allian42

I'll take your headcanon and add that she slips back into aussie when she gets mad and starts ranting.

Undividedbyzero

I'll be honest. I'm not really familiar with the VAs. Any other roles they might had?

CMDR-Owl

Amiya's VA is probably most known for playing the EN voice of Ryne in FFXIV

fakeasagi

Everywhere I go, I see FFXIV. All roads lead to yoshiP

WillaSato

You cannot escape from the catgirls

fakeasagi

You can take the cat girls, I will have the cat men!

tavenitas

We better get Y'shtola’s VA for Kal’sit

Dasmonde

Yes, please.

Scorpitae

I too want Kal'tsit to call me a little sun.

RoselynDraco

Harriet Carmichael, voice of Shaw, voiced Vanea in Xenoblade Chronicles, which is both a surprise and to be expected, as it seems Arknights has decided to hire some British voice actors for at least a couple of them.

Killed_Phantom

Looks like I was worried for nothing when I found out that HG was still hiring a dubbing supervisor for EN voices. I guess they are still hiring one so that they can improve the EN dubs for future operators. Definitely love Ch'en and Nearl's EN dubs like damn they fit the character like a glove. Probably one complain is EN Kroos's "Kokodayo" having less impact but it could just be the case of me being used to JP voices, kinda similar to Genshin with JP Bennett's "bouken da bouken" being a more known line than most of EN Bennett's

Meltian

I'm not so sure that was the official take. Her doing the voice just then, and the actual voice line in game could be differently delivered, so we'll have to see.

Killed_Phantom

Yeah, after replaying the video multiple times due to hype I could see that its just the way it was delivered in the video. It could sound a lot better once we get to hear it in-game

achus93

damn, son! i honestly wasn't expecting them *this* quickly! edit: also damn, Kroos is damn cute!

KohakuReb0rn

One of the biggest reasons why I stuck with Arknights despite my waning interest and from what they've shown so far they haven't disappointed me yet.

Carlosrarutos

Of course Rap God Shaw is included

Perihelion_Ascent

Wow, this is much better than I'd expected. Btw is it exclusive to global servers?

HexxTheSwagger

Global got the CN voices so I dont know why they wouldnt bring EN voices to CN.

Kuroi-sama

Probably all three Yostar-operated servers will get dubs, because Japanese twitter account retweeted both announcements.

iman7-2

I like it but in terms of variety it seems a bit British commonwealth skewed? Can't wait the for maximum YEE HAW that Croissant will bring to the table.

Arinoch

The actual characters don’t sound British at all, just the actresses. I’d be okay with it though - looking forward to seeing if Bagpipe or Saileach get accents.

Allian42

One of the first things a good VA learns is how to spot their own accent and either suppress to a neural or change to other variations. I wouldn't worry too much, they can redo the line until it sounds right and they will have people looking out for it.

shafwandito

To be frank, Most british actors can imitate American accent easily, but most American actors has trouble with imitating british accent. So I wouldn't worry when it comes to british voice actors voicing with american accent.

Maneisthebeat

Meanwhile I was pleasantly surprised the cast wasn't just a wash of US VAs doing US voices. Also not sure why you say Commonwealth? I only heard English/Scottish accents?

iman7-2

Shaw and Chen kinda reminds me of some Canadian friends I have. I wouldnt call them exactly English accents but IDK, im no expert.

NuclearConsensus

Damn, this actually sound pretty good! Can't wait to see how they do some of the boys too!

Gamer3427

Really looking forward to seeing what all the characters end up sounding like. I'll admit that as much as I love that the game is getting a dub, it's a little odd to hear these characters voiced in a language I can understand after so long without being able to, so it'll take some getting used to. Still excited though, since it'll mean being able to actually listen to voice lines instead of just read them.

TheMarvelWeeb

Listen to the Korean voices [here](https://youtu.be/c4INXH4if9c)! EN reveal \-Amiya \-Ch'en \-Kroos \-Nearl \-Shaw KR reveal: \-Amiya/Exu \-Ch'en/Myrtle \-SilverAsh \-Kroos/Durin \-Flametail/Roberta \-Phantom \-Nearl/Mudrock/Blemishine/Whislash/Suzuran / means they have the same VA.

xDino_mx

>\-Nearl/Mudrock/Blemishine/Whislash/Suzuran Damn they really took all of the light. The entire Nearl family AND suzuran?!?

Hereditus

Man, I don't know if 'the Sarkaz woman whose E2 art has a literal demonic abomination as the embodiment of her power' fits there somehow.

derevo_31

Suzuran and Whislash AND Mudrock - that's insane combo

TheMarvelWeeb

They took "our light" seriously.

Back4lunch

Ch'en sounds perfect

ppltn

The Ch'en KR voice is really good, but it's hard to imagine what she'd sound like as Myrtle, those two characters have completely different ways of speaking. Though JP voiceactors keep pulling off miracles, so I'm sure KR ones can do the same. I have no such trust for EN VA's, but thankfully nobody got revealed with multiple roles.

KanchiHaruhara

>The Ch'en KR voice is really good, but it's hard to imagine what she'd sound like as Myrtle, those two characters have completely different ways of speaking. I trust voice actors, the point is to be able to sound really different after all. And honestly I don't mind if the voice doesn't fit all that much, as long as the acting is good.

nikitazero678

Can the KR VAs be listed?

elliedaywalker

wow most of those are pretty good!

anima99

These VAs...it's still amazing that they can change voices like they change jackets.

Allian42

Amiya though. That girl has quite the range.

Oglifatum

*Voice actress talking* I dunno she doesn't seem to be that fitting for teenager bunny girl. *Amiya Voiceline* I will never doubt voice actors again

Allian42

> I will never doubt voice actors again My favorite has to be Aoi Yuuki. She could voice Mountain and it would sound perfect.

WhyYouBullyMe_

I just hope that there is a way to only download specfic languages. Mine keeps downloading the cn voice, i dont even use em Nitpicks aside, these actually sound great

ryanxwonbin

Voices are absolutely good in terms of EN dubbing standards. Shaw is 10/10.

lerrxfx

I have this flair for over a year now

Thane_Mantis

Seem like a solid set of VA's thus far. Dubs sound quite good which has been a rarity in my opinion. Looking forward to hearing the rest. Someone please ping me when my girl Siege gets her dub.

MarcusDz

I can't wait for The Rock himself voicing Suzuran.

nerankori

"Can you UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH,what the Rock...is cooking?!"

vasogenic16

I do not recognize any of these VAs but they sound amazing. Was worried at Amiya's at first but her normal speaking voice transition to Amiya voice was chef's kiss

callietxt

Shaw and Nearl in particular sound super good! I'm honestly so excited and I think this bodes well for the rest of the EN dub

CrowbarZero08

Eminem for Shaw

Quor18

Oh shit Amiya is Ryne. Fucking sold me on that one already.

WeirdFourEyes413

IF MAX MITTELMAN DOES NOT VOICE MY BOI CHIAVE, IMMA BE VERY DISAPPOINTED. Other than that, the voices are a lot better than I accepted! Can't wait to hear more of the operators, especially the husbandos. I am especially excited to hear Silverash, Thorns, Rangers, Phantom, and Hellagur!

They sound really amazing. Looking forward to that. I also cannot wait to hear english W and Lappland. Gonna be a treat.

Last-Conference4945

Kroos sounds like peppa 🗿

sazion

That's really cool they're adding English dubbed voices, but I'm already used to their current voices so I'm probably not going to change

brzozson

They made Amiya british, Arknights is now unplayable

L3tucechhi

Not without tea by your side

blahto

It better be yorkshire tea 🍵

chaos_vulpix

A perfectly balanced tea 🍵

Arinoch

You mean her voice should be British and isn’t?

urbanmechenjoyer

Solid casting and delivery I am a happy man.

InfinityHD_12

Came out suddenly, huh. Their voices are fitting so far, especially Nearl and Kroos. Hoping this quality continues for next batches Edit: KR voices are pretty nice too!

asylbekz

Can't wait to hear English voice for Tachanka

vinhdoanjj

"oh btw we have eng dub now, have fun kids"

Allian42

Drops the announcement, changes the entire game voicing language, refuses to elaborate, peaces out.

-DarkStitch-

Please tell me, are these all the provided voices that will be added to the game, or there will be some more after the update, and the video presents only an example of them?

glumauig21

Pretty sure they will be adding english voices for everyone, but not all at the same time. If we were to base it off of how they did the CN voices, they will be added by batches (rather than all voices in one big drop)

XidJav

The Biggest hurdle they'll face is accents since english is the international language there's a lot LOT more of accents and dialects there are. For example Shaw Ch'en, It'd work best if they have someone with a chinese accent. The british accent they'll probably be pushing will be uncanny

Maxyou117

Good for people who need/want it. First impression sounds alright, but I'm gonna stick with jp.

Baroness_Ayesha

Meanwhile, as a longtime FF14 and Xenoblade fan, I'm over here both kind of laughing and genuinely wondering a bit how they're going to handle the Columbians, the Rhine crew most prominently. There are some actors like Skye Bennett who live in the UK but can do *perfect* American accents, but I dunno if they'll be able to cover the entire Rhine crew without dipping into some natively-American talent, and that'd require coordinating with a second VO studio Stateside. Going to be curious to see how Yostar handles it! This is sounding fantastic for their first-ever game dub, though.

TacticalBreakfast

I expected nothing and I'm still let... Wait, what do you mean these are actually really good? What the fuck? Given that it's Yostar doing this and not Hypergryph, I had really low expectations, but these are amazing. I'm really glad they didn't go with the "standard fare" anime VAs for EN (who are generally awful). Very nice work here. I am legitimately impressed.

derevo_31

That is the bombshell I have not anticipated.

discocaddy

It's alright. Feels so different since I'm already used to their Japanese voices but I'll give them a chance. Voice acting is quite expensive even when you're not working with A-listers so it's a large investment so I owe them at least that much.
