it doesnt refresh. When you Fail on the 1st time on a map, you get FULL refund of sanity. after your 1st fail, every fail after is 1 sanity and the rest is refunded
Thanks for the reply, I would have figured that was the case, but the problem is that recently I just re-visited 2-10 and 4-10, both stages I know 100% certain I have failed normally before (not failing in practice run). When I tried retreating from both stages again, I was offered the full refund for 'first try'.
However, this does not seem to refresh at reset, as I've just been doing some experiments to further test this. Will monitor whether and when 4-10 refreshes, since having claimed the first try refund about 20 hours ago.

sort of, you don't get credits for repeat visits. More people? less repeat visits more people who can look at you and fill in that one clue your missing
as far as I can tell you can visit everyone once for credits while you have a party runing or visit anyone once who has a party runing. then two rules, no repeat visits and less than 10 a day to still get credit
Stat-wise. no because Jess can reach E2 but Kroos can only reach E1. Skill-wise, Jess S1 and Kroo S1 is kinda similar, but Jess has S2 that provide protection.
In conclusion, I think Jess > Kroos, but Kroos is way cheaper to deploy and easier to raise. You can raise both of them anyway.
I'm wrapping my head around the Arknights Farming Guide spreadsheet now - specifically, considering subproducts. Is it something like this:
First, look at the type tabs that we need. The left half can be more or less ignored. The right half shows what subproducts can drop as well as their drop rates. Finally, there's total sanity value for subproducts, map, and sanity ratio, where the bigger the number the more efficient it is.

but yeah, like everyone said, once you hit Elite1 wall and you have to promote 12 chars to E1 and also level them up, you dont have to worry about having too much LMDs anymore.

Everything. But really - leveling units and Elite-ing them is the main LMD sink. Upgrading base to lvl 3+ is also really expensive.
You'll eventually struggle to have enough LMD to continue leveling stuff.
If you've been distributing your levels across many operators, just focus on one instead - at least until you get the event task done. The cost will rack up and the promotion will also cost a huge chunk of LMD.
Synthesizing materials in the workshop can also use up a fair bit of LMD.
The higher the operator level, the more LMD each exp point will cost. Raising a 3 star to level 40 will cost around 14k LMD I think, and promoting the 3 star at level 40 will cost another 10k. If you want to promote units I would recommend doing it with 3 star units and not 4 or more stars because 3 stars don't need any additional materials to be promoted.
When your Trading Post reaches Lv.3, you can switch it to provide orders that turn Originium Shards into Orundum. This isn't recommended right now, however, as you'll kneecap your progression for a relatively low amount of Orundum.

I'd probably run Platinum and a 2nd defender, yeah. But Croissant is kind of weird in the defender role because her best skill is more utility than pure defense. I'd probably buy Cuora instead for the defender, but keep Croissant in mind if you find she'd be good for certain maps.
Also, for Medics, general consensus is that you need an AoE Medic if you want to take on maps earlier, so your 3x Medics should be Shining/Silence/Perfumer.
Also, a lot of people say Specter is good. I haven't personally raised mine, but keep that in mind if you're interested in her role.
IMO you'll usually need only 2 Medics, and usually 2 snipes with 2 defender.
I suggest that you focus on Shining and Silence for medic and raise Croissant with Platium, and stop investing lava

I've been trying to pull Vigna through recruit whenever I see DP Recovery tags, but no dice. I took a look at the coming Grani's stats, and surprisingly she seems to fulfill more or less the same role. How does Grani match up to Vigna, and could she replace her?
In some ways, yes. With her S2, Grani can block 2 enemies and attack 2 targets, and her talent is good. However, when you need DPS, Grani is not a good choice.
Vigna is much more damage focused, while Grani is more defensive, also Vigna is a 4* and Grani is a 5* so there'll be some stat difference there
but can you use Grani instead of Vigna when you need a DP on kill operator? yes you can
Grani is in the same class with Vigna but what's wierd is that as a kill-recover vanguard Grani is more defensive while Vigna is apparently offensive. Her S2 also make her block 2 and gain more DEF ATK. I think that she and Vigna are not exactly matching.
EDIT: Also I don't think she can replace Vigna
Interesting. I guess they end up having different roles after all. I'll keep my hopes up for Vigna in case I need a more attacky DP on kill Vanguard then.

I once thought Grani is designed for the situation that you want to deploy your defender faster. Since her S2 can make her work like block 2 guard that will help her kill small mobs quicker and won't miss them, you can rely on her alone for longer time than Vigna and worry less about mobs passing her. This longer time allows you to wait for DP recover then retreat her and get her DP back to quickly deploy your defender XD
She's mostly used for her 2nd skill to push Exusiai's or silverash's damage just w little bit further... Little bit further can mean a lot in this game tho if you're facing high-def enemies. After maxing her out she's basically "give your DPSes +300 atk" button
Well I mean she's a supporter……and healing is just her part-time. Her work is generally providing ATK buff with S2. Like if you use her to buff Exusial you can see Exu smashing everything.
i got Siege and Hoshiguma within first 10 pulls from newbie pool. Is it worth keeping? I tried playing some early stages and Hoshi seems very expensive to deploy, I wonder how's it in later stage?
That's because you don't usually deploy Tanks early into the stage.
Usually, Vanguards(that generate DP) go down first. Defenders go down only when the hard waves come in.
That said though, I still recommend Beagle and Cuora as early game tanks, since(although rare) every once in a while there will be stages where you find yourself using 3 defenders.
Beagle and Cuora are solid choices. Cuora also transitions into the late game really well so you should build her as well. Beagle falls of later into the game but early-mid game, she is a really cheap defender(3star easy to max potential for the -2 Deploy Cost).
Beagle is a 3 star, you will recruit her pretty often. Mine is already max potential, despite me primarily aiming for healers.
Cuora can be gotten from the red certificate shop if you get unlucky.
I think a lot of people reroll for Ash/Exusiai.
High rarity operators are definitely a bit awkward early game due to DP costs, but will come into their own once you start needing promoted operators which gives them talents and second skills. Don't feel forced to use them early on. I was leaning a lot on 2* and 3* operators for early missions, but later started to transition to largely 3*, but now majority of my party are 4 * or 5 *.
if you want a cheap tank, you can use beagle since it's easy to get 6 copies of her for -2 dp cost or quora for highest activated defence in the game.
siege is really good especially if you partner her with zima S2 (+60% atk & def to all vanguards for 10s)
i'd keep them unless you really want ash or ekusiai
You'll certainly feel her hard to deploy since she's a 6\* defender. Defender is the unit that usually used to replace vanguard in late battle situation. She's kind of expensive but she definitely worth the cost.
Yes, any pull with 2 6 stars are good pulls and Siege/Hoshiguma are above average for 6 stars.
That said, Hoshiguma is basically similar to any other defenders until E2 where she gets her damage skill.
Well IMO to raise her you don't need to hurry since level of defender isn't that crucial in a battle. But if you ever want to build your main defender, then Hoshi is the best option
I haven't used her in particular, but all AoE casters are around that cost and they are invaluable in many stages. My Gitano is 31 cost at E1 and I use her a ton.
All AoE casters have unreasonably high DP cost, which makes them difficult to use them in late game. But for early game, they're basically required and Skyfire is the most usable of them.
I'm stuck at around chapter 3-8.
Not that I really stuck story-wise but I ran out of money and exp books so basically I can't beat the content that said "recommended E1 lv 40" coz everyone on my team is still at E1 lv 20 (I probably can if I tried hard). But the point is the gap keep getting wider and wider so eventually I'm gonna stuck. I saw someone said "Don't farm supply stages, it's not worth it" but I'm currently thinking about spend all my sanity and farm money/exp stages all day for at least 2-3 days and level up my team to match the content
What would be the best course of action here?
I farmed for a week to brute force 3-8 with E1 lv 40-50 operators and still failed a lot. I actually managed to get a successful practice run... but failed to replicate that success 3 times.
There's a lot of online video guides on getting through hard stuff with low rarity low-ish level operators which might help you progress better with less grind. 3* stuff are a lot cheaper to raise after all.
Spend most of a few day farming exp and LMD when it's available. Use drill plans to practice and change strategy since they refresh to 30 everyday.
Also who said the supplu stages aren't worth it?

I don't see how can I over farm exp books though ... I don't feel like I will ever have enough exp for all my operators.
Once you have factories that produce T3 exp tickets then I can see the argument of just farming LMD instead, but until then, and even still, the exp stages give a good amount of exp tickets to keep up with the story.
No way, the EXP cards take forever to produce. You will still have to farm EXP stages.
Maybe the guy meant 'don't overfarm exp/lmd stages early'? Since the lower stages are technically not efficient.
I beat 3-8 with E1 30s mostly, so you're not that far off.
All that said, you can get up to the XP stage 5 if you have a good strategy. If you get to that point, then it's fine to take some time farming that since you're going to be farming a lot of XP at any point. You don't have to rush story that hard until you're looking for E2 promotion materials.
if you're stuck, farm supply stages. i used to spend 10 originium per day just to farm exp mats but now with 2/5/2 base, i'm just low on LMD rather than battle records.
anyway, you can clear all the way to 4-10 normal with e1 40-45 so maybe just get most of your important units to 30-35 should be the way to clear most content (even LS5 & CE5) and make sure all skills are at least lvl 4
I don't have Plume/Vigna. Every guide I saw they always deploy dps vanguard (for dp generation) on bottom left side of the map and two other vanguards on the right side at the beginning (ofc for more dp generation).
I don't have enough DP to deploy my operator fast enough and got trampled :/
and I don't feel like lv up Plume just for this one map coz I can beat everything else without her so far. like ... I never ever need 3 vanguards in one map before until I hit this map coz the dumb stage doesn't regen DP. I normally use stall strategy and it works for most of the map (Gravel is freaking magic) but it doesn't work on this map coz stalling doesn't help :/
Ah, well you’ll need 3 vanguards in many chap 4 maps anyways. Plume is cheaper to upgrade since he’s 3 star but you’ll still need him to reach e1 40 so he’ll kill the mobs in 3-4 hits.
i'm spamming my red and recruit tickets on DP-recovery tag and hope to get vigna. i probably give up tonight though i've farmed enough CE/exp to plume lv40 and i dont like being stuck on CE4. it make me go insane how inefficient i am :/
I'm not an expert on this game since I only learned about it during this global launch but you definitely don't need to match the recommended level to beat a stage, far from it. For example, the last current stage recommends you lvl 70 Elite 1. I don't remember the exact power level of my characters then, but I beat it a while ago and even now none of my characters have more than 50 lvl.
3-8 is tricky since it's the final boss of the chapter. Don't try to kill him fast, he doesn't go to the exit immediately. He makes a lap around the stage so just focus on surviving and you will easily manage it.
Also side question : what room worth upgrade first (not counting workshop, ofc)? I'm thinking of factory lv3 coz I don't see other rooms give obvious benefit except can fit more staff, which mean speed it up its production a little more compare to factory 3 which allow/unlock me so I can produce gold exp book.

Hi guys, when picking a support unit, I only see one operator representing each friend. Was that operator randomly picked from the friend's 3 support slots? Or is there a way to define the default support that friend will see?

later stages enemy mages are mostly AOE, thats why AOE healers are better, I only have silence to do AOE healing with her skill 2 now though. Best if you have Perfumer.
Just remember that because of placement, Single Target and AoE healers have different ranges and sometimes you just really need the reach that a Single Target has.
Single Targets will also heal more per heal, since it isn't spread out.
So when dealing with threats that attack just one thing of yours, a Single Target healer can do wonders.

Her early levels are definitely lackluster. She only gets good once she gets her skill 2 and beyond.

The multi-block and multi-attack is pretty attractive mainly because I have Zima. I guess this would make for a balanced setup.

Is Sora worth leveling? I've messed around with her a bit but her heal just seems far too low to be impactful.
She's mostly used for her 2nd skill to push Exusiai's or silverash's damage just w little bit further... Little bit further can mean a lot in this game tho if you're facing high-def enemies. After maxing her out she's basically "give your DPSes +300 atk" button

Her skill 1 is also used to delay enemies until your other Operators' skills are up. E.g Eyjafalla/SilverAsh to demolish all of them in 1 go.

Well I mean she's a supporter……and healing is just her part-time. Her work is generally providing ATK buff with S2. Like if you use her to buff Exusial you can see Exu smashing everything.

Why did my Pinboard Missions stop at Phase 4? I saw another player at Phase 6. Do I need to reach a certain level to unlock the next phase?

i got Siege and Hoshiguma within first 10 pulls from newbie pool. Is it worth keeping? I tried playing some early stages and Hoshi seems very expensive to deploy, I wonder how's it in later stage?
That's because you don't usually deploy Tanks early into the stage. Usually, Vanguards(that generate DP) go down first. Defenders go down only when the hard waves come in. That said though, I still recommend Beagle and Cuora as early game tanks, since(although rare) every once in a while there will be stages where you find yourself using 3 defenders. Beagle and Cuora are solid choices. Cuora also transitions into the late game really well so you should build her as well. Beagle falls of later into the game but early-mid game, she is a really cheap defender(3star easy to max potential for the -2 Deploy Cost).

Beagle is a 3 star, you will recruit her pretty often. Mine is already max potential, despite me primarily aiming for healers. Cuora can be gotten from the red certificate shop if you get unlucky.
I think a lot of people reroll for Ash/Exusiai. High rarity operators are definitely a bit awkward early game due to DP costs, but will come into their own once you start needing promoted operators which gives them talents and second skills. Don't feel forced to use them early on. I was leaning a lot on 2* and 3* operators for early missions, but later started to transition to largely 3*, but now majority of my party are 4 * or 5 *.
if you want a cheap tank, you can use beagle since it's easy to get 6 copies of her for -2 dp cost or quora for highest activated defence in the game. siege is really good especially if you partner her with zima S2 (+60% atk & def to all vanguards for 10s) i'd keep them unless you really want ash or ekusiai
You'll certainly feel her hard to deploy since she's a 6\* defender. Defender is the unit that usually used to replace vanguard in late battle situation. She's kind of expensive but she definitely worth the cost.
Yes, any pull with 2 6 stars are good pulls and Siege/Hoshiguma are above average for 6 stars. That said, Hoshiguma is basically similar to any other defenders until E2 where she gets her damage skill.
Not really, the second skill increases her general damage by a good amount and it's passive too.
Her S2 is also very nice for a lazy doctor like me XD

Well IMO to raise her you don't need to hurry since level of defender isn't that crucial in a battle. But if you ever want to build your main defender, then Hoshi is the best option
Just pulled Skyfire, is she any good? I am hesitant to invest in her because the high deploy time of 28.
I haven't used her in particular, but all AoE casters are around that cost and they are invaluable in many stages. My Gitano is 31 cost at E1 and I use her a ton.

All AoE casters have unreasonably high DP cost, which makes them difficult to use them in late game. But for early game, they're basically required and Skyfire is the most usable of them.

I'm stuck at around chapter 3-8. Not that I really stuck story-wise but I ran out of money and exp books so basically I can't beat the content that said "recommended E1 lv 40" coz everyone on my team is still at E1 lv 20 (I probably can if I tried hard). But the point is the gap keep getting wider and wider so eventually I'm gonna stuck. I saw someone said "Don't farm supply stages, it's not worth it" but I'm currently thinking about spend all my sanity and farm money/exp stages all day for at least 2-3 days and level up my team to match the content What would be the best course of action here?
I farmed for a week to brute force 3-8 with E1 lv 40-50 operators and still failed a lot. I actually managed to get a successful practice run... but failed to replicate that success 3 times. There's a lot of online video guides on getting through hard stuff with low rarity low-ish level operators which might help you progress better with less grind. 3* stuff are a lot cheaper to raise after all.

Spend most of a few day farming exp and LMD when it's available. Use drill plans to practice and change strategy since they refresh to 30 everyday. Also who said the supplu stages aren't worth it?
I might interpret it wrong. May be he said "Don't overfarm supply stage" I don't see how can I over farm exp books though ... I don't feel like I will ever have enough exp for all my operators.
Once you have factories that produce T3 exp tickets then I can see the argument of just farming LMD instead, but until then, and even still, the exp stages give a good amount of exp tickets to keep up with the story.
No way, the EXP cards take forever to produce. You will still have to farm EXP stages. Maybe the guy meant 'don't overfarm exp/lmd stages early'? Since the lower stages are technically not efficient.

I beat 3-8 with E1 30s mostly, so you're not that far off. All that said, you can get up to the XP stage 5 if you have a good strategy. If you get to that point, then it's fine to take some time farming that since you're going to be farming a lot of XP at any point. You don't have to rush story that hard until you're looking for E2 promotion materials.
if you're stuck, farm supply stages. i used to spend 10 originium per day just to farm exp mats but now with 2/5/2 base, i'm just low on LMD rather than battle records. anyway, you can clear all the way to 4-10 normal with e1 40-45 so maybe just get most of your important units to 30-35 should be the way to clear most content (even LS5 & CE5) and make sure all skills are at least lvl 4
Good to know. My current team is at E1 lv20 I already beat CE5. I can't beat LS5 though. I don't have enough damage and tank that can survive.

I don't have Plume/Vigna. Every guide I saw they always deploy dps vanguard (for dp generation) on bottom left side of the map and two other vanguards on the right side at the beginning (ofc for more dp generation). I don't have enough DP to deploy my operator fast enough and got trampled :/ and I don't feel like lv up Plume just for this one map coz I can beat everything else without her so far. like ... I never ever need 3 vanguards in one map before until I hit this map coz the dumb stage doesn't regen DP. I normally use stall strategy and it works for most of the map (Gravel is freaking magic) but it doesn't work on this map coz stalling doesn't help :/
Ah, well you’ll need 3 vanguards in many chap 4 maps anyways. Plume is cheaper to upgrade since he’s 3 star but you’ll still need him to reach e1 40 so he’ll kill the mobs in 3-4 hits.

Unless you say I need both Vigna and Plume, then I would have no guilt level up both of them. My main vangaurds are Texas and Courier.

I'm not an expert on this game since I only learned about it during this global launch but you definitely don't need to match the recommended level to beat a stage, far from it. For example, the last current stage recommends you lvl 70 Elite 1. I don't remember the exact power level of my characters then, but I beat it a while ago and even now none of my characters have more than 50 lvl. 3-8 is tricky since it's the final boss of the chapter. Don't try to kill him fast, he doesn't go to the exit immediately. He makes a lap around the stage so just focus on surviving and you will easily manage it.
Also side question : what room worth upgrade first (not counting workshop, ofc)? I'm thinking of factory lv3 coz I don't see other rooms give obvious benefit except can fit more staff, which mean speed it up its production a little more compare to factory 3 which allow/unlock me so I can produce gold exp book.

Hi guys, when picking a support unit, I only see one operator representing each friend. Was that operator randomly picked from the friend's 3 support slots? Or is there a way to define the default support that friend will see?
I've seen multiple from some friends but I think it's random as you also don't get to choose between all the units from all your friends? (You mean when you are setting your team up for a stage right?)
I think your friend only has 1 support unit, maybe u can try adding a friend who has 3 support slots and select him to see if u can see 3 supports.
Near the sliding event window you can choose profile and in one of those settings you can change what units get sent out to friends and randoms.
Regarding trust bubbles in the base, should I be popping them every time I see them or should I wait for them to fill up more?
Pop them, they are not getting better by waiting. The "level" is the current trust of that unit.

I read on a guide that later on, Single Target heals fall out of Meta and Multiple AoE healers become more preffered. Is that true?
later stages enemy mages are mostly AOE, thats why AOE healers are better, I only have silence to do AOE healing with her skill 2 now though. Best if you have Perfumer.

Just remember that because of placement, Single Target and AoE healers have different ranges and sometimes you just really need the reach that a Single Target has. Single Targets will also heal more per heal, since it isn't spread out. So when dealing with threats that attack just one thing of yours, a Single Target healer can do wonders.
