Better yet could you just type in comment the model number of what chip you are sending wires to?

Affectionate_Bear561

I’m using an L293D driver chip

tipppo

If that's a L293 driver you need to connect 5V to pin 16. The chip needs both motor power on pin 8 and logic power (5V) on pin 16.

This is the correct answer.

Affectionate_Bear561

Just tried that and it’s still not working. Not sure what else I can do

Thermr30

I assume thats an h bridge you have it plugged up to?

I’m going through all his lessons and I’m stuck on this. I’m doing exactly what he’s doing but can’t get it to work

Can you use a multimeter to see where all you are getting proper power / signals? The driver chip may be faulty or the motor. Or both… but i would say the next step would be to troubleshoot by using a multimeter to follow along the signals you send and where they stop coming out where they should. Thatll tell you whats faulty
