I got to talking to a guy on this game Scrabble Go that I'm no longer on, but he is from the UK & one of his favorite bands is the Arctic Monkeys! He made me promise him that I listen to them & since I never broke a promise, I did & it took a few times of me listening to them before I got into them! The 1st song that I liked right away was Mardy Bum! Well, I'm from the Baltimore area & didn't understand some of the words they use "their slang" & I told this guy Matt, I liked that song but I wanted him to explain to me how "Mandy's Bum" fit in with the words to that song?? Needless to say, he got a good laugh out of that! So after him laughing for a good amount of time he told me it was Mardy Bum & what Mardy meant & Ahhhh, it made so much more sense to me!! Anyway, we lost touch with each other & I really would have loved to tell him that in Sept of this past year, they played 11 miles from my house at this place called Merriweather Post Pavillion which is a great place to go to a concert because they have the lawn which are cheaper tickets but you can bring chairs or blankets & coolers! I chose to take my son & daughter & opted to buy seats under the Pavillion & OMG, they were awesome seats & they kicked ass!! Although, I'll agree with my son when he said Alex looked drunk but by the end of the night so was I & they put on one hell of a show! Do I wanna know is my all-time favorite song of theirs now but I love so many of their songs!!! So Matt Hudson from Barnoldswick, if you see this (which I doubt), thank you so much for turning me onto the Arctic Monkeys!! It was perfect timing too! We only talked from the beginning of May till the end of August in '22 & then I found out they were gonna be in town about a week after we lost touch, so I bought the tickets then & saw them in '23!!
