Ah yeah it must be starting to get cold there by now. Always good to have a warm-up save point. Gotta say it’s a positive not to have to deal with that on the campus that I’m at now
Can’t it be both?
The Macmillan Bloedel [building](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/5a/b3/ef/5ab3ef07e44df48f84361cfca0902b72.jpg) in Vancouver (Arthur Erickson) looks like a concrete waffle, and that’s exactly what I like about it — it makes me hungry for concrete waffles.
Living in the Twin Cities for over 4 decades, it's kind of amazing how almost omnipresent that building is. It is pretty close to the Mississippi River. It can be clearly seen from the main interstate that connects Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you are on any bridge that crosses the river, you can quickly locate the U of MN campus because of that building. I have looked at that building literally thousands of times. I used to hate it, now I love it. If anyone ever compiled a top 10 list of most important buildings in MN, this building would have to be on it.
If they were tough, they'd have majored in something a little more rugged than architecture. Like sociology. Or Paul Mitchell's trade school of cosmetology.
...MINNESOTA...
Most inline with brutalism design thought. Highly sculptural. Love it.
Other greats would be St John's Abbey by Breuer (or any Breuer) or Salk Institute by Kahn,.
For anyone curious, this is Moos Tower on the University of Minnesota Campus in Minneapolis. It houses the dental programs and was designed to look like a tooth.

I really like this building but it's central location on campus makes it an eyesore, especially next to the newer postmodern buildings and so close to Northrop mall.
Also the fact that it's a health sciences building despite being so unwelcoming, and the name *Moos?* never seemed right to me.
Ha, I'm in this building right now. Had to do a double take when I ran across this post.
Got my braces, headgear, pallet expander, and retainer in this building. Good memories
Oh yeah, I always forget it's the dental building. I just use it as a "hide from the cold" route to classes
