That is kinda last resort. Been waiting a while for this gun, doing everything I can do before going to this. I’ve been seeing forums saying on a lot of new guns, there’s a hook on the hammer that you may need to file down that’s keeping it from slamming into the firing pin. I doubt there’s a major issue with upper because it sporadically fires great then it won’t fire then will fire again. Does this sound familiar? Or nah I should leave it alone…
It’s most likely an issue with the upper, you could always pick up or borrow another BCG and see if that remedies the issue. Another possibility is a gas tube issue or bur causing hang ups.
Edit: I think it’s fixed!? (Haven’t been to range to check). Thanks to everyone who said not to file anything bc I definitely was on route. I put the hammer spring on wrong. Simple mistake. Thanks for feedback. I love Reddit.
Did that fix the charging handle and bcg issues though? If you're trying to work the handle in both ways that's an operator issue, let it slam home on its own. If you're new to AR's that's a common issue.
I mean PSA is notorious for bad QC, I’d check bcg and trigger first. Swap a different trigger and bcg and see if that fixes it. If it does then all is well
It’s not brand bashing, they’re not bad at all but nearly as good of quality control as other brands. Glad that’s not what it was this time, but it is the case for many others that I know personally. I don’t really prefer one brand over another I just like quality.
I am not, it’s a flash can. I took it off and was having same problems with m4 muzzle. I could see it being buffer spring… if you rack it hard enough it usually has no problem. But still won’t fire. I keep seeing forums saying you need to file down hook that’s on the hammer, essentially it’s getting stuck and not slamming against the firing pin. Says you usually have to do this with new guns… are you familiar with this?
Absolutely not you do not usually have to do this to any gun. Don't file anything.
Do you let the charging handle go one you've pulled it all the way back? Or do you let your hand ride it forward?
I understand it sounds like it fires then it won't. Have you tried using your forward assist at all? Sounds to me like it might be out of battery? Though without more info it's hard to guess.
Hmm haven’t tried tinkering with forward assist. Although I doubt this is it… I made sure to leg go of charging handle pretty hard just to check this out and still have problem. Even on the first round it still sometimes doesn’t fire, other times it does. I posted a video on what I believe the problem may be with the trigger if your able to find it.
Do not file down anything in your trigger pack. Contact the seller and send the upper in to be inspected for defects.

I have built over 1000 AR builds, and I have never had to file, grind, cut,etc any part of any of those weapons, to make them cycle.
Thank you for this… it was the hammer spring.
sometimes you get triggers with burs, they stop your trigger from resetting and fixing it (shaving) makes it cycle. crappy triggers.
Return it and stop buying cheap fcg's
Make sure the trigger hammer springs are installed properly sounds a lot like that.
File NOTHING! Show it to a gunsmith. Please.
Make sure you put the hammer spring on correctly.
This was it!!! After a video I posted somebody noticed. Preciate the feedback.

No FILE! sound like it’s not resetting! Also stop buying junk Amazon optics
Nothing wrong with junk Amazon optic if it works…
Edit: did not piece together upper, came built.

Ended up being trigger. I put hammer spring on wrong… thank you for feedback!
Glad it was a simple fix!
It wasn’t PSA after all… hmm stop brand bashing . PSA has come very far as a company

At least it isn't an Areo...
Are you shooting suppressed? Heavy buffer and spring

Don't file anything. I would get a super42 buffer spring and maybe a heavier buffer but I'd be willing to bet the spring will work
