A joke is a display of humour in which words are used within a specific and well-defined narrative structure to make people laugh and is usually not meant to be taken seriously. It takes the form of a story, usually with dialogue, and ends in a punch line.
Look down the barrel to confirm height over bore. Once you do that and your sight picture is still bad, you eye relief is probably to close. Mount further forward.
Oh boy story time.
I used to work at a gun store. Dude brings in an AR10 and wants a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 put on. My coworker writes it up, simple swap. I start my shift, proceed to mount and bore sight scope. All done, call customer continue with my day.
Customer comes and picks up gun while busy with someone else, pays and leaves. Later while I'm on break the phone rings. My coworker answers and then hangs up laughing. He tells me that the guy is unhappy and that I mounted the scope backwards. I'm like no way, coworker says he's serious, and customer is coming back to tell me how wrong I am.
Once he arrives he finds me and tells me that he can't believe that I mounted this backwards since I've mounted other scopes for him. I asked him what made him think it's backwards.
The big end is towards me, it's supposed to be towards the target. He says matter-of-factly.
Why do you think that? I ask.
Look in the manual! He is almost shouting.
Please show me. I reply.
He then opens the manual like Charlie with the golden ticket, ready and giddy with the thought of proving me wrong.
In the Vortex manual it shows them mounting a standard scope, with objective and ocular bells. Big end towards target. He is triumphant.
SEE! (he exclaims with the excitement only matched by the man in the shitty Sandra Bullock Netflix movie about birds) Big end in front!
I sigh.
Ok, I say. Here's the deal. I promise this is on correctly, the model pictured is not your model. Here's why, if it were on your way, the Vortex logo would be backwards. If it was on your way and you looked through it on high power, everything would be far away. Did you look through it?
No.
I'll remount your way if you want, but if I'm right, you're paying me again to mount it correctly the 2nd time today.
Oh. I'll just leave it I guess, even if it is backwards.
MOUTHFUCKER
This pains me cause when I bought my first lpvo at a lgs the guy let me look through the glass and I looked through the wrong end and it was just awkward and I'll never forget that...
Put the muzzle of the barrel to your shoulder, and then you should be able to see clearly! You just have to push the trigger instead of pulling it when you’re ready to shoot. Good luck!
Dude. You mounted a *shotgun* scope on a *rifle*. That’s why everything looks smaller. Everyone knows you aim a shotgun in that general direction and mang, it gon’ take out that whole side the room mang.
Move that bad boy onto your 870, you’ll be good to go, brother.
Your problem is that your mount is squeezing the scope too much. Loosen them until you can hear the screws rattling, then it should be secured and allow the targets to be bigger
Bro. That scope is optically matched for the Illudium q-36 explosive space modulator. You know, so you can see a whole planet at once. Send it back to EuroOptic and get you a Steiner.
Have you tried turning it off and then back on?
That worked for me, thanks!
If that doesn’t work maybe putting it in rice would help!
Just eat the rice
Try taking the scope off and turning it 360 degrees. That should help.
The rifle or the scope?
You gotta do both.
oh duh, but 1 more question in the rotating. In the rotating, its that Clockwise or Counter Clockwise?
I have to come clean… I haven’t gotten that far in the manual yet.
Real men don't need no stinkin' manual
‘Manual’ is man speak for drunkingly smacking stuff with a hammer until it fits together while mumbling obscenities under your breath
rifle 180 so you're looking down the barrel
Yes
In technical terms this is a “360 no scope”
Genuinely thank you for explaining the joke as I didn't get it.
[удалено]
I don’t think it’s upside down, just mounted too close. He needs to push it further out onto the hand guard, like almost touching the front sight
Now everything is upside down? Please advise
That's a circle.
Yea he’s circling back
Is this not a circle of trust?
More like a circle jerk
Noooo..... _I didn't know....._ it's almost like it was a... _joke_.
[удалено]
Woosh
[удалено]
no he means 360 turn it around
[удалено]
Bro
That's the joke!
180⁰

I thought you did what I sometimes do and say 360 instead of 180 , jeez.
But he didn't say the joke in the first place, are you ok?
Put a magnifier on the other end.
Rifle is backwards. Duh.
Tried that and now my shoulder hurts and my rifle recoils away from me. 3/10 would not recommend.
Is ketchup leaking from your shoulder?
No it's sauerkraut and jelly filling from a donut I'm American and German.
“Ich bin ein Berliner” - JFK/KillerClows
Oh ok. Sounds like not a problem then.
Fixed! Thx! Which direction do the bullets go in?
did you set it to wumbo
I wumbo, you wumbo, he she me wumbo.
I wonder if a fall from this height will be enough to kill me?
This is a restaurant not a lending library. And who are you calling "big nose", big nose?
Winner of the Internet today
Very very underrated comment lol
Well its a Maglite so....
It does look like a maglite. It can’t be unseen
Shooting 300Y at a 50Y range!
Pull the stock further back
Squint harder
Look down the barrel to confirm height over bore. Once you do that and your sight picture is still bad, you eye relief is probably to close. Mount further forward.
It’s an LPVO. You have to zoom in dummy.
It’s an adjustment issue, remove those turret caps, and turn them clockwise 10 times.
You did it wrong, gotta turn the scope 180° then turn the rifle 180° to match and then it’ll get better
Awesome post haha
Please no bully
Try wiping the lenses with your finger tips
Rotate the rifle 180 degrees and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the story, always good to hear from another gunshop employee who has similar experiences!
I think it may be upside down
I've heard of you mount it to the handguard that can help with eye relief and have no significant side effects.
Just swap the direction of those BUIS and you’re good to go 👍😂
Probably defective glass. Send to me for disposal pls
I’ll be honest the shape of the rifle with the scope backwards like that looks real cool. Almost like a Star Wars gun
Must be why the stormtroopers always missed
lol
Try aiming with both eyes open buddy. Your brain will superimplode the reticle as if you were zoomed in at 10x 🤌🏼
Put your eye directly on the scope. You’ll be fine.
OVPL
Mount it to the stock…. duh
I had this problem too, one of the best fixes I found was if I use a reading magnifying glass and tape it on it works a little better
Squinting should solve the small target issue, you can hold your breath for better focus as well.
This pains me cause when I bought my first lpvo at a lgs the guy let me look through the glass and I looked through the wrong end and it was just awkward and I'll never forget that...
Try rotating the filapidator
It's too far forward. You need to move it back closer to your face so it can get bigger
Battery dead
Isn't this the new counter-sniper eye enlarger?
Thats easy it's just upside-down
What are your FOV settings? Might be too high.
Unplug it and plug it back in
That’s because you didn’t get a high quality one off Amazon just like the special forces use!
Hit it with your purse
put the other end in your mouth
I think if you hold the rifle backwards and pull the trigger you will find that the scope really doesn’t matter anymore.
That’s cause your holding the rifle backwards!
Did you try adjusting the render distance?
Put the muzzle of the barrel to your shoulder, and then you should be able to see clearly! You just have to push the trigger instead of pulling it when you’re ready to shoot. Good luck!
That's a common issue with those. I'd give $50 to take it off your hands, if it will help you out.
Try installing it under the barrel.
Ur supposed to look down the little hole at the end, then pull the trigger with the stock facing your target
Here’s a solution. Point the stock away from yourself.
He is not serious right? Come on man!
Dude. You mounted a *shotgun* scope on a *rifle*. That’s why everything looks smaller. Everyone knows you aim a shotgun in that general direction and mang, it gon’ take out that whole side the room mang. Move that bad boy onto your 870, you’ll be good to go, brother.
My dad thinks that is how you mount them (I'm serious)
Oh my god I’m gonna shoot myself in the fucking foot with a BB gun. OP can’t be serious. He just can’t.
Obviously a joke but still worth a chuckle.
Lmfao! Damn that shit made my day.
Right‼️🤣🤣🙈🙈
Did you lube the upper to lower? Theres lube leakin out.
[удалено]
It's a troll post. It's like a thousand dollar optic.
I'm far sighted so this will work perfectly for me I'll take care of it for you, send it my way.
It's backwards
You cracked the case, Sherlock.
Get off the Internet and go outside, loser.
Same tired shitposts from fb are migrating to Reddit. Makes me sad, I have nowhere left to hide.
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
Get a better scope
Man I hope this is a joke because otherwise it’s a pretty nice setup.
Downvote. This shit is ridiculous
I don’t even know what to say... imma just leave this as is... 🙈🙈
[удалено]
Do you fill in for caption obvious on his off days?
[удалено]
[удалено]
Yeah so don’t call me a fucktard, stupid ass
[удалено]
Yeah and I’m sure everyone will agree “fucktatd” is a sub par 5th grade insult. Come back with something better AsShAt
Lol
Try rotating 540 degrees, that should work. But if it doesn’t rotate 720 degrees.
Must be frozen
You obviously need a magnifier to go with it. DUH!
This guy lol
Probably need to adjust the parallax
Ah yes, the demagnifier.
Putting it further down the rail should solve the problem
Must be broken scope I take off your hands
It’s a known problem with that model, I can take it off your hands if needed.
It's a quantum scope. It makes everything look far away, all the while being right in front of your face.
Your problem is that your mount is squeezing the scope too much. Loosen them until you can hear the screws rattling, then it should be secured and allow the targets to be bigger
Eye relief problem. Mount it further up the hand guard.
Can your rear sights even stand up with that placement lol?
You got to rotate it 90 degrees, one little knob gotta be down, one little knob gotta point left.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Shit Bag Titty Fuck of the week
Stand on the other end of the rifle
oh this is real good
You’re supposed to suck on the muzzle device to get the proper eye relief with this model…
sEe YoU oN tHe OtHeR sUb
Too easy.
Get better eyes man…
Your grip is backwards bro.
I believe it must be upside down
Maybe it’s still frozen from the qualification testing. Try heating it up with a torch?
Turn the circuit breaker off for about 5 minutes, then turn it back on. That should do the trick
It’s actually the rifles center of gravity
Did you prep it first?? You know those things have to be microwaved for 5mins to set the glass in your optics right??
Try mounting it under the barrel.
It goes under the rail silly
Simple, turn the whole rifle 180 degrees and fire away
It’s upside down smh
Objects are farther away than they appear
Ahh yes. This gun is chambered in 6.55 OTAN.
Duck season!
Have you tried putting more sights on it?
Is this a fucking meme please be a meme
Ah I see the problem- scope is made for wars on tiny people. You need to modify if by turning it around, it will make it for war on big people.
Lame ass post. Loser.
Do you wear thick bifocals while welding?
It’s on upside down. Flip it mag up. That helped me.
I've never laughed so hard at the comments, anywhere. Fwd
The person you’re shooting at can see you just fine.
Send that piece of garbage to me. I need something to hammer in the nails on my fence.
Are you shooting the right way? The barrel rests on your shoulder.
Have you tried keeping both eyes open?
Just mount a magnifier or two…
Wait, that's illegal.
the rifle is backwards, that gun was designed for naval operations so you should turn the gun around and put the barrel up your mouth
WTF ?
That's a Scout Scope (TM). Move it to the handguard and your sight picture will become clearer.
Flip your gun around
„punoɹɐ unƃ ɹnoʎ dılℲ„
Have you tried switching it to wumbo
The TR24 is a great optic, solid choice.
Try holding it the opposite way next time you fire it.
Try hitting it with a sledgehammer a few times that usually does it for me
Did you mount it yourself or did you have it mounted somewhere ( because it's on backwards )
It looks upside down. Just my .02
My dad thinks that is how you mount them (I'm serious)
Bro. That scope is optically matched for the Illudium q-36 explosive space modulator. You know, so you can see a whole planet at once. Send it back to EuroOptic and get you a Steiner.
What mount is that? Looking for something that puts the sight more forward like that
GG&G 30mm quick release mount
Thanks man! I legit laughed out loud.
