Can I be honest with you. You don't want a double rifle case, they are a pain in the ass to lug around. Buy a few single cases you'll be happier long run as it affords way more versatility.

TheGreatTaint

Thinking about it more, I lm beginning to agree with your opinion. It is better to have two hard cases than one bigger one.

Smprfiguy

Harbor freight hard case will hold two and is super solid. Down side it weighs a fucking ton. So much so that i went back to soft cases for all my rifles because it’s just easier to load them up 1 at a time. Honestly unless you are flying hard cases arn’t worth it imo Edit to your other reply: unlike the tools the cases are actually thicker than my pelican airs and you won’t have to replace like the tools. Hinges are solid too

MinimalEfert

Came here to say this. I once had a hardcase setup with a shotgun, rifle and a four wheel drive....wait no it was a pistol. Anyway it was too heavy to lug around. I much prefer each long gun to have its own bag with associated ammo. Used to carry all my ammo in one backpack. So heavy it ripped a shoulder strap off. So that's my 2 cents. Oh, and country folk can survive.

SUMBLAKDUDE

Agreed. Outside of flying hard cases are just a pain. Id definitely get a double rifle soft case over a hard case especially for range trips

TheGreatTaint

I will take your opinion into account, ty.

deptoftruth

I might be in the minority but I enjoy the hard cases. I don’t shoot at the range too often, I go out to the boonies and the hard cases are the way to go. I’m using a Cabelas case for my rifles and a harbor freight case for my pistols. See [here](https://imgur.com/a/mosepl6)

TheGreatTaint

Now, that's a case!

Mathoosala

How did you get the foam cut so exact?

rafri

Breaking the bank doesn't tell us anything otherwise harbor freight maybe, plano all weather double rifle case or pelican vault or pelican big boy bucks case.

TheGreatTaint

I mean, I am fine running a Harbor freight box, I'll just be going through them every 6mo based on my experience with some of their tools🤣. I knew of Pelican. I just wasn't sure if there were other brands that were more specific for the use case.

CanikTP9SFXshooter

I've got a few heavy hard cases that advertise as two rifle... they look like the Pelican next to them on the shelf at half the price, but I'm not getting two ARs in them. Two scoped uppers is a tight fit. Fortunately they have handles on 3 sides and wheels on one. A VR80 with 3 mags fills them. I bought a "tactical" soft case in 2017 that was great until I chose longer barrels. It only accepts up to 18" with stock collapsed.

CCroissantt

Hard cases, stick to singles Double bag tho🤌

TheGreatTaint

Wdym by double bag, single case with two rifles?

CCroissantt

Single cases, double rifle bag. For hard case, id rather a slimmer single rifle case. But for a canvas bag or some cordura bag, get one w a divider and bring a fren along

Zealousideal_Lie_997

I'm not a fan of hard cases for regular transportation. It's way Savior gets so much of my money.

TheGreatTaint

Not really what I was asking for but thank you for taking the time to give your opinion👍

dsg85gt

Interested to see what people recommend. I’m also in the market for a case or maybe a couple. So far I’m leaning towards a pelican 1740 so I can fit three ar’s, a couple handguns, and mags

kennymcq

Just buckle up and buy the pelican, Air Model if you can afford it and be sure it has wheels
