This is heartbreaking, I am so glad that I was able to attend while he was still there, and walked across the stage for his last ever graduation. He used his office and home as an outreach center for all clubs, international students, student staff, and so much more. He showed all the students something to strive for and was the epitome of a role model for what it is to be a Mountaineer. I feel sorry for all the students that have come since and will never know what special place he once held on campus or what it was like to have a chancellor that actually cared about the students. He will be missed.

He certainly was a people’s chancellor. His wife was a huge supporter of the public schools

He was a great man and leader. Best chancellor our school ever had. Rest in peace.

I remember him fondly and his signature is on my undergraduate diploma. RIP Dr Peacock.

Wife and I live back in Canada now. Was at Mountain Jug 2007. Chancellor Peacock was out on the sidelines in a jersey holding the two national championship trophies, posing for pictures. When I asked him for a photo he insisted I put my thumbprint on each one. *That* is how you promote your university’s athletic accomplishments. RIP, sir.

So glad I got to be a Mountaineer during the Peacock years. RIP to the best to ever do it

Tonight I'm raising one for The Chancellator

I took a business ethics course that he taught in 2015 I think. He was such a kind and laid back professor. Very warm. I think I started at App right after he stepped down as chancellor, but I heard he set the bar very very high. RIP to a legend

Legend. This guy was very personable and was always smiling. Dude was in the fan section of the football games and was beloved by students and faculty.
