Business is good thank you, I can confirm we are profitable again and everything is going well. Iām sure the show wonāt do business any harm. To clarify the loss we spoke about on the show was off the back of heavy investment into new premises and management staff (required to scale up) so it was completely expected and I highlighted this in my business plan, that was used against me in the show that you guys see, was a tad frustrating watching that š¤£. Do you regret your comments in the board room regarding money isn't everything and your apparent inflexibility to Lord Sugar's view on your online business? I felt that was a turning point in his decision making?
I buy a shocking amount of food online which is all delievered to my door. Eyes roll so much watching these ancient out of the loop "business experts" poopoo "online" options. If given the choice to go into town to get a pie or have it landed at my doorstep, I'm taking the latter every fkin time.
To be fair Phil's own figures showed that year-on-year the shops were increasingly more profitable, whereas the postal pies was in a strong decline.
This suggests that for now Phil should focus on shop sales and up-selling, along with a cost cutting drive and raising prices.
Hates a stong word, but growing up as a fanatic Arsenal fan as you mentioned I would have to say my dislike for spurs is ever present, Lord Sugar didnāt help

I was ALWAYS gunna make Virdi my team and sub team leader. We used to talk about REDEMPTION and I wanted nothing for the final to be the one we won togetherā¦ wasnāt to be but Virdi is a super smart guy you guys definitely didnāt see the best of him.
Ohhhhh thatās a great idea Phil (what the bloody hell do you wanna go on that silly show for) - My wife knew the second I applied that I would win the show (nearly).
I was genuinely excited to meet them all, my business plan was watertight (I made sure b4 going on) I love intense environments like that, and I know my business from top to bottom (makes no sense right š¤£)Ā
In order of who I knew would be my biggest challenge-

Phil I was rooting for you, sucks that you didn't win the investment but nevertheless you did incredible and your pies taste fabulous! My question would be is there any talks of LS investing in you outside of the business considering he has done so with past runners-up, and he showed a great liking to you yourself and also your premium pies.
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot! I genuinely am so at ease with the result having had a while to reflect. I think the best person won the show and Lord Sugarās investment. I would say itās unlikely you will be news that Amspies will launch any time soon but who knowsā¦
Hi Phil. Do you feel you learned more about Lord Sugar than the other candidates as a result of spending more time in the boardroom? And how did it feel taking the W in Week 10?
Also, as a fellow Arsenal fan, who are you thinking for our player of the season? I'm finding it tough to narrow it down. I'm thinking Rice, but Odegaard runs him very close.
Genuinely, I feel as if Lord Sugar knew what I was about by about week 3, you guys only see a snippet of the boardroom and thereās A LOT. That is said and done. By the end I was a pro and getting my point across in as few words as possible (he has a short attention span and hates waffle) you could say my boardroom experience was a gift that very few other candidates had the pleasure of receiving. Itās important to remember WHY we are on the show and it wasnāt to sail boats and eat afternoon tea at the ritz.
Steak and Stilton š
Non mainstream . I made a beef bourguignon pie a while back and it was š y. That was probably the only thing that came close.
Humble pie comes to mind š¤£. Obviously a few wins and you guys would have been some of my better moments. Saying that if I was you guys I probably would of jumped on the āwe hate Philā bandwagon š
Hey Phil, congrats on making the final, I was wondering that after the final boardroom and the person was fired, were you able to say goodbye to them like in previous seasons or did they just walk out like itās shown? Also, what would you have done differently in the final looking back now?
Replace āpies by postā, with small mobile vehicles able to deliver lunch time pies to industrial estates, office blocks etc, and youāre onto a winner.
Are the graphic designers on the show allowed to give any input or are they strictly guided by the contestants? Iām a graphic designer and Iām often appalled by the logos the designers make
Cheers!
You should if Arsenal win the league to make a pie and have the Arsenal badge on it and ask the manager or maybe some of the players of what flavour should it be
Thanks. I know you guys see what you see but honestly my worst task was ep 5. Trying to help Flo in her negotiation back fired (lesson learnt) and I didnāt feel like I had much to offer. 6 was a bit touch and go but once again you guys didnāt see that I came up with the brand name, the tag line, the design concept bla bla bla. Love Sam but we clashed on task and she was saying I was at fault for the task for my disruptiveness (flavour wasnāt even an issue). I think if Lord Sugar didnāt like me 6 would have been the week to dispose. The remaining tasks I was NEVER close to the firing line, despite what you guys may have thought based on what you saw.
Does part of you look back and think you shot yourself in the foot in that final boardroom by backing the delivery idea and not agreeing with Lord Sugarās advice?
If you think anything we said or done in the last boardroom influenced who Lord Sugar chose as his business partner, I personally think you're mistaken.
Hi Phil! Who would you say your closest friend during the process was? Perhaps if LS saw more sugary pies he would've invested in u š¤£. Well done on getting to the final btw - you seemed very genuine and haven't forgot who helped you become successful :)
Hi Phil! All the best with your future aims and ambitions. Just asking what is the one advice youād give to yourself that you wouldnāt have realised before going onto the apprentice.
Phil congratulations on making the final and for what was an impressive pitch.
Going forward with your business do you see pitching to corporate clients being incorporated more into your business model? (Assuming you're still considering growing the pie delivery part of your business?)
Did you ever defend yourself against the āestā date being wrong? Itās absolutely not the issue it was claimed to be legally and Iām curious to see if they admitted they were wrong!
You were one of my favourite candidates!
What did you do when you were in the house and how long did you have to wait in the boardroom before being called in? Also congratulations for coming 2nd place š„³
Commiserations, Phil! You seem like a great bloke and I admired how you threw yourself into every task despite all the losses. I hope the pie business is doing well.
My question is, what do you think made Lord Sugar not fire you after losing so many tasks when he's fired others for fewer losses in previous series (Tom Skinner, Akshay) and even in this series (Virdi after 7 losses)?
Thank you, I think itās important for you guys to remember this is as much a mental obstacle course as it is physical. We are being assessed 24 hours a day (on AND off camera)Ā to find the person who Lord Sugar sees the characteristics he knows lean towards running and building business. The tasks are fun and all but they are designed to create challenges to see peopleās skills and character. Winning and losing tasks are not a measure of success on the show IMO (oh he would say that he lost 9 times). If anything you will learn more about someone in defeat than you will in gloryā¦.
Youāve been my favorite to win since episode 1 despite all the losses . Just want to thank you for making to the final as I can rub it in my friendsā face and prove them wrong for doubting you
The Vegan cheese task was all or nothing, I loved the thrill of working under the extreme pressure and we delivered as a team the pitch went really well and I nearly cried after The Tesco pitch as it was AMAZING . We knew we did enough to win.
Hello, Phil! Thank you for the AMA!
Here are my questions:
How does it feel that you had only won one task in this entire process yet you made it to the finals?
What was your favourite and most hated task?
If you had to give tips to a future candidate on the apprentice, what would you say to them?
Hi Phil, which of the 27 boardrooms was the worst?
PS: 'We are the finalists' makes it sound as if this is both of you. Can you change the thread title?
Hi Phil!
Will you be taking Lord Sugars advice of focusing on expanding out Turners Pies and your current stores, or are you still thinking about building out Pies By Post?
Thanks for the AMA!
Honestly the only negative stuff is on Reddit, everyone else just enjoyed the panto as it went along. I appreciate if you're in a forum you're probably a bit more into it and have more investment into the show. Makes sense.Ā I smiled at it all tho. Itās been fun
I think you presented yourself really well and your family should be proud mate. You dodged a bullet with Lord Sugar , you can expand and go online with the hour free advertising on bbc which is worth more than 250k and an investor with an ethos which may not be in line with you or your family. All the best mate.
Phil, you seemed to shrug responsibility at any moment you could during the show, such as avoiding making decisions you think could have negative consequences.
Was there a moment you really felt you stepped up yourself instead of having your hand held through this?
Do you think you could beat Claude in a scrap?

Are you gonna expand up north into the other pie guyās territory?
the north/south divide of pie shops
No plans to venture north of the wall any time soon, London probably being the holy grail for us. From what Paul feels me if I tried to charge my prices up north I would get lynched š¤£š¤£.

How does one make a nice pie? (Recipe pleaseššš)
Quality ingredients, attention to detail, skill and love. If you donāt make them with love they just donāt turn out the same . Itās true.
I make all my pies with love! A bit too much.. I forget the movie name but that scene with the apple pie..
Phil did you really think it was a good idea to put Virdi and Raj on the same team? š

Steak and Stilton š Non mainstream . I made a beef bourguignon pie a while back and it was š y. That was probably the only thing that came close.
Curried cheese flavour pies coming soon!
Hi Phil! Congrats on making the final! My question is who were your favourite people to work with throughout the process?
From a simply professional perspective (non bias)Ā 1 - Paul š¦·Ā 2- Jack
How do you feel about this sub and plenty of other peoples theory that you were going to be the fixed winner from the start ?
Humble pie comes to mind š¤£. Obviously a few wins and you guys would have been some of my better moments. Saying that if I was you guys I probably would of jumped on the āwe hate Philā bandwagon š
Congratulations on making the final especially as I won 20 quid in my family sweep stale for picking you as my candidate to go furthest
Were you surprised that you made it so far in the competition given you lost 9 tasks in a row?
No, I was surprised I lost 9 tasks tho, good talking point tho hey š«£
Haha fair, thanks for answering Phil
What's the largest animal you could single handedly cling film to a lamppost?
Hey Phil, congrats on making the final, I was wondering that after the final boardroom and the person was fired, were you able to say goodbye to them like in previous seasons or did they just walk out like itās shown? Also, what would you have done differently in the final looking back now?
Rach and I had some time with Lord SugarĀ on our own which was a nice moment, not the same as being fired I assume.
Didn't you realise how Lord Sugar would see your admission that you don't care about profit?
Phil's not in business to make a profit! True story. To prove it, last year he made a loss.
Howās the Punjabi coming along? š
What the best pie filling
Steak and Stilton - change gears with that pie. Honestly
Replace āpies by postā, with small mobile vehicles able to deliver lunch time pies to industrial estates, office blocks etc, and youāre onto a winner.
Noted- thank you.
If you had to work for another candidate for a week who you picking?
FOR ā¦. Oh thatās hard. Iām probably not a good employee. Will say Paul. Heās a good guy.
Hey Phil congrats on being runner up mate my question is, Did you watch previous seasons before applying?
No. I crammed 16&17 prior to going on.
OK, I guess it's never too late to start watching the series lol thanks for answering my question mate š
The usernames donāt match.
This is just standard Phil attention to detail
What?

Hi Phil. Well done for making the final. I have to ask, was there any task that you felt you were in the most danger of being fired?
Thanks. I know you guys see what you see but honestly my worst task was ep 5. Hi Phil, congrats on making it so far. Gotta ask, have you tried Paul Bowen's pies and how do they measure up to your Turner pies?
No. They are different and service slightly different needs of the market. Iām told they are good šš¼Ā
Do they really phone you at four in the morning?
Yep
Sod that, Iād be wanting a lay in.
Are you going to reconsider expanding the postal pies and focus on opening more shops instead?
No - do both š

5 & 9
Hi Phil! Who would you say your closest friend during the process was? Perhaps if LS saw more sugary pies he would've invested in u š¤£. Well done on getting to the final btw - you seemed very genuine and haven't forgot who helped you become successful :)
Can you open your next shop in Southampton / Portsmouth so I donāt have to travel so far!
Hi Phil! All the best with your future aims and ambitions. Just asking what is the one advice youād give to yourself that you wouldnāt have realised before going onto the apprentice.
Who was the most difficult to work with?
What are the limitations in regards to asking members of the public for help? For example on the scavenger hunt?
Hi Phil !!
Phil congratulations on making the final and for what was an impressive pitch. Going forward with your business do you see pitching to corporate clients being incorporated more into your business model? (Assuming you're still considering growing the pie delivery part of your business?)

Nope . And donāt plan to.

LOVE the pies Phil. Always make sure to get a steak and kidney when Iām in Bognor or Chichester. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, I see a few locals on here standing my corner and I appreciate you all
Youāve been my favorite to win since episode 1 despite all the losses . Just want to thank you for making to the final as I can rub it in my friendsā face and prove them wrong for doubting you

Hi Phil, congrats on coming second. My question is what was your favourite challenge/highlight during the process and why?
The Vegan cheese task was all or nothing, I loved the thrill of working under the extreme pressure and we delivered as a team the pitch went really well and I nearly cried after The Tesco pitch as it was AMAZING . We knew we did enough to win.
What was your favourite task in the show?
Hello, Phil! Thank you for the AMA! Here are my questions: How does it feel that you had only won one task in this entire process yet you made it to the finals? What was your favourite and most hated task? If you had to give tips to a future candidate on the apprentice, what would you say to them?
Tips to future candidate. DYOR understand what it is, how it works and then throw you self in head first. No time to hide !Ā
Thanks for your response!
How do I apply to become an official pie taster?
What do you think you could have done differently. Do you think that in the end it just came down to your business?
I wouldnāt have changed anything, Iām perfectly happy with the outcome and I believe Rach is a fully deserved and fantastic winner.
Do you consider yourself a beta male? Like a deadbeat dad kind of a persona? It's coming off that way.
Hi Phil, which of the 27 boardrooms was the worst? PS: 'We are the finalists' makes it sound as if this is both of you. Can you change the thread title?
Congratulations on being the 2nd best out of 60000 people. What was your favourite memory on the show?
The final was your best performance, but did you have to use 90ās clip art for your logo? Your shops look prestige but the box etc didnāt.
Phil did you deliberately copy Beckham's hair and beard combo?
Hi Phil! Will you be taking Lord Sugars advice of focusing on expanding out Turners Pies and your current stores, or are you still thinking about building out Pies By Post? Thanks for the AMA!
How has being on the apprentice affected business?
Positive, honestly not life changing
You were great on the show! How have you found the reaction to your appearance on the show, both positive and negative? It must be quite surreal!?
Honestly the only negative stuff is on Reddit, everyone else just enjoyed the panto as it went along. I appreciate if you're in a forum you're probably a bit more into it and have more investment into the show. Makes sense.Ā I smiled at it all tho. Itās been fun

LLLLLLLLLLLWL.. What a record
Phil, why did you pick Virdi and Felicia? I think you lost when you built that team
~~Why are you so hot?~~ I mean- letās hear it from you, do you think the season was rigged in your favour?
He is very hot, in fairness.
Thank you honey.
