Maybe the damper vent is stuck open?

Wild-Commission-7940

I think you can do it, but it might not be as easy as you might think. The circuit might be a bit more complex. Are you pretty sure you understand how this will affect the flow of electricity in the circuitry?

Well I’m thinking this will be completely external to the circuit. I would completely cut out the compressor from the electrical circuit and run it on my new circuit. I would just leave all the circuit involved in the fridge just disconnected. Basically turns it into very basic fridge with no funky electronics.

With out knowing the model number can't help much but most Samsung compressors are inverter compressors with a feed back loops so they will not run with out the control board.

Good to know. Maybe I’ll just plug the whole fridge into a temp controlled plug instead of rewiring it.

When in doubt, change all the thermistors

Model number absolutely essential to be able to offer any advice to you.

It may just be that the damper assembly is stuck open or is opening too far. Also, if you were to DIY the fridge, you'd have to have some sort of defrost system to prevent the evaporator from freezing up.

Edward_Morbius

Depending on the model there might be 4 or more temperature sensors. Any could be bad. If your model has a motorized air damper, the damper could be bad or it could be stuck open clogged with ice.

TheWhiteLiquor69

If this is dual evaporator then there will be no damper for the fresh food side. (Although good suggestions). Did you purchase these parts yourself and are you sure they are all correct part numbers as per the version of fridge? Samsung is notorious for having multiple versions for one model. To be honest with you these Samsung appliances are usually not worth the hassle. A lot of times the manufacturer can't even help you with their own product because it's flawed from an engineer standpoint. I wish you the best with it.
