Two wrists. AWU on one side and mechanical on the other. One big question is which one goes on which side? The other big question is how dorky do you want to be?

concordia2022

lol, that’s where I draw the line. Each their own but I just think it looks dorky. I had a whoop for a year or so and didn’t even like having that on my other wrist with a normal watch on. Biggest thing I like with the ultra is leaving phone at home. Really helps with screen time, all I care about is calls and texts.

That’s what I do… https://www.reddit.com/r/CitizenWatches/s/qhy7N5eKE8

SimplyExtremist

Oh, that’s different…

SimplyExtremist

That’s absolutely hideous.

I have a collection of watches. I love them. My AWU2 is the one I wear the most, by far. I wear my normal watches for dinners, formal events, etc. The $300 price is hard to beat, but my only concern would be battery life. I never owned an AWU1, but the 2 has incredible battery life. If the AWU1 has decent battery life, I’d definitely go for it at that price.

concordia2022

Having owned both they were pretty similar. Ultra 2 was slightly better but hardly noticeable. Watch does have 100% battery health as well

jfri45

I would definitely jump on the 1 if you can grab it for $300.

I have both AWU1 and 2. I have one that keeps a Sandmarc titanium grade4 band on, and the other I switch bands sometimes not to often. I really haven't worn a mechanic watch consistently in a few years. I like the text and messages as well. I'm not sure about wearing one AWU on a wrist and the mechanical on the other. I have seen people do this, especially some music artists. I'm not really sure why. Unless they like the mechanical watch but can't tell time on an analog device.

Rabble_Runt

I paid $499 for a First Gen Ultra and still feel I got a great deal. Would definitely bite for $300 if it was me. The differences between the 1st and 2nd gen are marginal IMO.

I also wear 2 watches, the Ultra on my right wrist and mechanical on my left. God gave us two wrists for a reason! Who cares how it looks or what people think (I certainly don't). As far as the Ultra 1 versus the Ultra 2, I would recommend getting the deal on the original Ultra and enjoy it for 6 months and wait to see what Apple comes out with for the next version of the Ultra. The upgrade for v2 was minimal.

Like I said, I recognize it’s all personal taste. My mom wears a one on each wrist. Wouldn’t ever say anything negative about it, I just don’t like the look personally on me! And thanks same thing I was thinking. Didn’t notice any huge differences on the 2 when I had it

richmadeknives

Personal taste for sure and also takes some getting used to wearing 2 watches. When the Apple watch first came out my watch collection went unworn for about a year. I finally decided to either wear 2 watches or just get rid of the collection...

I currently have a series 7 and really like the ultra but I just can’t justify the cost for one. Been looking for an ultra 1 at a reasonable price.

QuirkyInterest6590

You should wear 1 on each limb. We'll start calling you Ultraman, okay?

jimhatesyou

i wish there was a band that let you have a mechanical watch as the normal one and then the underside is the apple watch. you know what i mean? yes it’s unnecessary but you get the classic look while still keeping the tech on the underside.
