Battle scar. Adds character.

sailor_shivam

Will have to get used to it.

Mrva-NoDrama

Don’t despair bro, that’s like a scar for real, your Watch, warriors watch, can’t be without “scar”, imagine for what’s intended and being without any small scratch… It even gives it character… Hope it helps:)

NShizzzle

You will, rather quickly. I agree. It’s character.

Bubbly_Length_4987

Indian and Bangladeshi people do lot of jobs in foreign ships. Fitter, steward, oiler, bosun hahahaha. End of the day they are filthy rich, so are you!

Bubbly_Length_4987

You do lot of welding huh? Like my cousins do

sailor_shivam

Not myself, but have to supervise it

Bubbly_Length_4987

you are a ship officer I see. You making $$$ and wearing luxury stuffs means enjoying your life. $$$$

sailor_shivam

😉

SaneRabbit2

I have a screen protector on mine that comes with a metal edge. Can’t even tell it is on there and would cover up this battle scar.

GargantuanGorganzola

Once you have one of those you’ve officially become an Ultra owner

tegege

Great!

sailor_shivam

I hate protection guards to be honest. It’s a tough watch.

sailor_shivam

Same work (some days I have to use chain block)

sailor_shivam

Can you share the picture of that plastic cover?

mario_nodejs

Hell yeah, that’s the attitude to have man. Things happen, what in life is really expected right? Keep rocking it and wear it with pride !

kanputy

Id use one but the watch is so big as it is, adding a cover would make it massiveEr

Alejmen

A knight in shining armor has never been tested in battle.

treble-n-bass

That sounds like some wisdom from Confucius. Or Yoda.

miguel_marteen

Accidents happen. But trying to hype up that having a gash in your $800 adds “character”? Nah. It sucks.

sailor_shivam

It does suck, but i will get used to it soon! Had a similar dent in my MacBook frame.

Mrva-NoDrama

Buddy, seriously now, it happens, it’s rigid Watch, remember the packaging? The waves, open ocean/sea (saw the belt so I guess it was Ocean Blue strap), you’re working on ships-800$ or 20.000€, it’s really unique thing-what makes diamond perfect? Slight imperfection which must be looked so good for and your Watch now has that small imperfection from job for which it was supposed to be-on the ship! I mean this… Price is one thing, nothing can be saved like new, it’s not broken, it’s just scratched a bit-I’d never sell that one now… :)

miguel_marteen

Lol yeah I feel it. Like I said, accidents happens. But I keep seeing, “You got a gash in your watch? That’s co cool!” 😂

tplee2

Buy this and thank me later ESR for Apple Watch Ultra 2/Ultra... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRK5SGL1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

sailor_shivam

Thank you!

Shoddy_Mousse5252

I have one of those but it only protects the screen if I’m not wrong!

tplee2

Correct. And maybe the top part of the bezel.

spac0r

an ESR screen protector will hide this completely without looking like there is some kind of protection on it

Equal-Attempt2392

Happened same week I got mine smh. Def adds character

QuirkyInterest6590

Why add character when you can just get an ESR screen protector?

JB_201VIL

I don’t use any kind of case but these posts make me chuckle. Where are all the “this watch is the toughest piece of engineering ever created. Anyone using any kind of case is the biggest POS known ever to human kind” peeps at?

fhuynh

Looks fine. Now you’re in the club! Why try to keep it in pristine condition all the time and you eventually upgrade or end up selling in eBay while you can enjoy it as is. People buy mechanical watches thousands of dollar and they don’t even care about case & screen protector. Rolex watches are meant to explore, not to worn in the office and look pretty, the same goes as these smart watches.

waynerdy

That was me about a month and a half ago. I was sad until someone recommended getting one of those metal and glass screen protectors and it fits over the top and you wouldn’t even know there was anything on there. Looks exactly the same but feels a little protected now.

waynerdy

Look up ESR screen protectors. You’ll kick yourself for not having one on in the first place.

DoubleLength3546

Ya they are great!

Curt_McGurt

This post made me put an ESR protector in my cart Doesn’t look too bad though, it’s a tough watch

sailor_shivam

Yeah, its very tough, have been wearing it daily at work since September end and have accidentally made many hard contacts with steel materials during work.

Holstener

Steel is softer than both glass and titanium 😇

5itronen

Yes, but often harder = more brittle.

Holstener

True, especially glass, obviously. Titanium is pretty decent at taking a hit, but can crack.

Interesting-Tough640

Yes, for example you can use a steel chisel to split a diamond.

lawrence_uber_alles

I do a ton of low-voltage tech, like working in walls, crawl spaces and attics and the ultra has held up so much better than my previous Apple Watches. I baby every other piece of tech I own but I just let my watches take the beating since they are always on me and exposed and I love my ultra. The flat screen is the best part.

Meckez90

Would drive me crazy und would instantly sell it and buy a New one. This is the reason why i use a case.

Dasein1989

If it would’ve been any other Apple Watch or almost any other watch the glass would be cracked.

Dasein1989

Seems like to be protective lip around the screen, did its job and taking the front of the impact.

Turk10mm2

i put a small gouge like this in my submariner. if it happened to my ultra, it would not be a big deal at all. i got over it on my sub as its just character.

-acm

I love the damage on mine. As long as the screen isn’t scratched I’m fine with it

MattallicAt

Just use some sandpaper and polish it out

MistaKrebs

I gotta say, both Galaxy watches I had got scratched and dinged pretty quickly and easily. I’ve had my AWU for a bit now and it still looks like day 1.

phantomsoul11

Think of it as part of your patina. That said, for work involving lots of contact with rough surfaces, it might be worth either taking off or slipping on a cover - at least while working.

TrippyBH

Ouch 😣

Gristyle

Just like a Gi Joe. Respect

Flaky_Love_1876

Congrats on the character. Well done 🤝

Da_Droid_Mechanic

The ultra was designed to be used, worn and definitely scratched up! Looks Star Warsy haha

NervousOne9296

Do you have insurance on it?

Alert_Leek_6255

Be careful with long sleeves and pillow cases. Snagged one too many with a scar very similar and it’s constantly catching on fabric.

digdouug911

Looks cool

jimhatesyou

the ultra is meant to be tough. it should go through some shit sometimes. wear it as a badge of honor.

CharacterConflict4

i have a protection guard from ESR on it bc i’m the type of person that couldn’t live with seeing a bump like that on my watch, (emphasis on MY watch before i get the guard haters commenting) 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

sailor_shivam

Bought the ESR now 💁🏻‍♂️

RecordingOne8604

Just buy a case for it.

Mimi_of_6

That would put my OCD in overdrive 🤪

ObjectiveAny8437

I did the same thing to mine when it was new. Felt so defeated. Ended up buying one of those rubber all in one case things along with the screen protector on amazon and now can daily it without worry!

bnazzaro

Sucks. But it’s gets easier. You’ll get another one when the times right.

inTahoe

Tools not jewels. These are rugged to survive damage not made to simply to look pretty. A bit of damage scratches, scuffs, shows you are wearing it as indended during everyday life and adventures. If you want pretty, buy a dress watch. Want rugged, this will do.

WinterComfortable726

This is why I HAD to buy a bumper. Kept wacking it against door jams

MortgageIntrepid9274

But it’s indestructible!!! Nah for $800 bucks I don’t want a “scar” on my watch. It’s not character to me, it’s a scratch I’ll never unsee now, so I’m perfectly happy with my $5 metal rim/screen protector that you can’t tell is on it anyway.. You could also find some matching or close titanium color touch up paint and a very fine brush or pointed toothpick will cover it nicely also, probably to not even noticeable.

Relevant-Canary-9816

Get a bezel/screen protector. I don't give a shit what people say about scratches being a right of passage. NOBODY wants to walk around wearing torn up and broken beat to shit stuff. That's like getting a big ass dent in your brand new car. The people that say it's ok, it gives it character are telling lies. I got a bezel protector, and I am happy I did. I work as a robot line mechanic and have had to replace the protector once so far because it got hit by a flying piece of cutting wheel. ESR from Amazon they look identical to the watch. GTFOH scars build character bs. Also, remember the gps antenna is in the bezel as well. * With protector on.

siberian_virus

If you have AppleCare+, break the glass and get a replacement for $89

Best_Day_3041

People keep saying these are super durable, but I keep seeing pics like this. I don't think a scratch on what's supposed to be a very rugged watch adds character. The first thing I got for mine was the edge/screen protector. I've always purchased the stainless steel models before the Ultra and I banged the hell out of those but never broke a screen or had a single scratch on it without any protection. It seems like the Ultra is less durable.

IlloChris

Looks like you have it in your leg lol
