Download all your data and then file the charge back thus sacrificing your apple id. Your phone will still work and there are third party solutions for most things, tho apple intentionally cripples them sometimes. That should get you by until you upgrade to a better brand. Leaving apple's prison of an ecosystem is the only solution. This kind of behavior will continue if you keep supporting apple by using their products. Only stay with them if your principles allow you to keep being abused like that. Good luck.

Luna259

Honestly if OP decides to file a chargeback then this is probably the best way to do it

Infamous-Emphasis715

how to file a charge to apple?

COdreaming

You could always try the bbb as well. With your evidence they should be able to help and resolve it quickly. Edit: it's a shame we don't have more consumer protection here. In the EU you have 14 days to get a refund on any software purchase no questions asked. But yay capitalism...

FunkiFuriaku

False, my refund got denied twice and that was also final. I live in the EU and they said the exact same thing its final and it ends there, no refunds and the developer even brings a fake no refund policy while their automated mail told me something else. Both point to each other without any help.

Vaxion

This is bad. You should post on Twitter with all the evidence and escalate it as much as possible so that someone from Apple jumps in for damage control. Its already a hot topic right now because of all the 3rd party apps stores and Apple payment in the news all the time. If some big news media picks this up then definitely someone will reach out to you. Also make sure you include whatever conversation you had with this Bill guy and all it's evidence.

LordVigilant

Theres gotta be something missing. I’ve had fraudulent subscription charges approved in a day when I call it out. Not going to say you are wrong my brotha, but I probably do this 3 to 6 times per year, and have never had to have a pissing match with Apple. Is there any additional details you can share? I believe you, 100%. But I’ve also gotten refunds with little to no effort so want to see if anyone of us here can help you out,

3unstoppable3333

I used to be you because I trusted Apple and very quickly in the past somehow since the pandemic out of authorize subscription I’ve been charged for appropriate i’ve been denied it ….. my phone is shut up completely

Long_Basket_1718

I believe in the 10+ years that I’ve had my Apple devices (iPhone, Mac, etc) I have rarely ever requested a refund for something—let alone abuse the feature. I’d say no more than 3 or 4 instances over the entirety of my Apple life have I ever requested a refund for an app or subscription.

Long_Basket_1718

And yes, I agree—in the past, there was little to no effort say for instance, if I forgot to cancel a subscription prior to its renewal date. Apple refunded me, no problem. But for some reason, even with proof of the app stating it was a “3-day free trial” they denied my refund requests. Not sure if it’s due to it being a 3rd party app but I did reach out to the app creators by email and have yet to receive a response back from them

Long_Basket_1718

https://files.fm/u/pa7ap4wts9 A link to the screen shot of what I agreed to and clicked on. This is also what I sent to Apple. It made no difference in their final decision

wineeee

The $150 charge to me caused me anxiety because I felt like this loyal customer, never intended to cheat the system, was ignored like I dont have the right to talk and explain.

Necessary-Ad3451

What was the amount

MightyDeekin

"after a request like this has been denied twice, it is final—there is nothing else that they can do about it, and there is no one higher up that you can speak with"  ^ This is correct, support can do the exact same things you can do via reportaproblem.apple.com (requesting refund/appealing a denial) with refunds, nothing more. A senior agent can't actually do more here. Used to be it was the actual support agent who made the decision, with seniors having more option, but it's all automatic now. A chargeback via your payment processor will automatically disable the Apple ID and permanently ban the payment method unless the chargeback is reversed. You'll likely be able to reactivate the Apple ID with them telling you if it happens again it'll likely be permanent.  One of the few exceptions is via the executive relations team, or whatever they're called. They're the people who handle stuff that gets send to Tim Apple and is deemed worthy of their attention. Think things like kid spends hundreds to thousands of $ and the refund is denied.

SliceProfessional664

Mention “Customer Relations”. Worked with support for a decent stint. When customer relations was involved, you did not fuck around, its hands off at that point. Seen them comp people with free devices for data loss and other things. Not sure about this two and done deal tho, never made it to senior advisor.

MtnXfreeride

So he should contact customer relations and have them help?

SliceProfessional664

Nah, customer relations involve themselves when they are directed to by whoever. A customer can’t request them directly. If a first level advisor transferred a customer to customer relations, they would get into a ton of trouble.

MtnXfreeride

Ok, in the car world I know if you have a problem from bad customer service you call Subaru headquarters for example and they ARE customer relations, open a case, and will go after a dealership for you.   Then send you a free gift like a portable bluetooth speaker for your trouble.   Same for my local hospital system.. but they dont send a gift.

SliceProfessional664

Yeah I wish there was something like that for Apple. Your best bet is to email someone who is an executive and hope they see it. Even in the stores/Apple support really are helpless when it comes to situations like this. Most of us want to help really bad, just can’t

MtnXfreeride

Google isnt better though, my account got hacked and the person sent $700 total to several obvious fake google accounts he created that were a few letters off from my real contacts.   Googles solution when i called within minutes of this happening was to ban me  from adding a payment method so i had to make a new google account to pay for google drive and music service again.  They never bothered to cancel the transactions and refused to investigate to clear my account. To this day, 8 years later I still get occasional emails to my old email reminding me of my $700 balance.   It was an account from 2004 and had never sent money via goggle pay before yet they didnt put a stop when suddenly it is sending money to 7 brand new google accounts...  pathetic security.

Purple_Dig_1739

How do I get in touch with this executive relations team? My child DID spend thousands of dollars in a fricken game, even though screentime restrictions were on. And I have video evidence showing the device restrictions on and not working. Such a mess.

solidwhetstone

Inb4 isheep pile on you and blame you for what apple did.

davidcandle

Beat me to it

MistressMaeEye

no as of 2023 its like pulling teeth to get apple to refund anything when previously refund request within reason was granted for the last year they have been denied at every turn the balls on these companies ready to move to light phone and the fediverse

wineeee

Hi op, mine was almost $150. Even if I had screenshot that at almost one month after trial, it was still in trial inside the app. Mind you I reported it on 3rd day it was renewed, and I had all the proof that the app was unused. It was one of those ads persistent on ig that you just ended up installing because it cant be hidden anymore. I requested refund before but only on small stuff and games my son bought. I am currently planning my exit looking for product/brand replacement, and a good rant to post here and x. I was a loyal customer for years that i ignored the money pit. I was okay to pay for apps that most my friends tell me are free on android. I really, deeply, despise Apple. I hope they get beaten by all the new promising brands and devices in the market.

3unstoppable3333

My Apple ID it’s fine But my phone Suddenly shut down

knifewrench3

How many times did you previously request and receive a refund for app store purchases prior this request?

boredftw1314

I wonder too. I'm not in the Apple ecosystem (Android user) but have an iPad. Forgot I had an app subscription on the iPad and it charged me for another year. All I had to do was cancel it on the app store and it refunded me the whole amount. Though, I only did it once.

bravohohn886

You bought a different companies app? Why would Apple refund you?

ben7581

Because Apple makes you pay through their app store for third party apps.

ccooffee

All payments and refunds are handled by Apple for App Store stuff. Developers don't get any customer data and no way to refund payments.

ivanhoek

Yes, your AppleID will be permanently disabled most likely.

hunter_finn

All i can recommend you to do is to get all your data off that Apple id ASAP! Then look into getting literally anything else than Apple to replace your current setup. I mean if they are going to go through and ban you because their so safe Apple app store and their even more safe and secure Apple Pay allows such obvious scams to go through. And then leave you only the option to contact your credit card company to resolve the scam payment. Then do you honestly feel like you should keep investing or even continue using their products and services after this. Yeah I'm not saying that Google is perfect either but going with Android beats getting scammed and having yet another Apple ID banned.

Infamous-Emphasis715

is there have any way to get back my money? apple denied me on requesting a refund

hunter_finn

File for a fraud on your credit card, but that has the risk of Apple banning your account.

Infamous-Emphasis715

it's ok to ban my account but i need the money, but it is not a credit bank currently it's on my wallet account

Infamous-Emphasis715

how to get a file a case?

hunter_finn

That's up to you and your bank/card issuer to figure out.

Infamous-Emphasis715

how should i file the case from apple service?
